I Have been Reincarnated As a Lazy, Arrogant Noble, but When I Destroyed The Scenario Through Effort, I Became The Most Powerful With Extraordinary Magical Power - 17
017 – The First Expelled Student
In the dimly lit schoolyard, we, who hadn’t even finished our self-introductions, exchanged words with fists, no, swords and magic. Rather than physical strength, it was more about mental stamina; most of us were battered and bruised, and some were even hanging their heads.
Except for me.
“That’s enough.”
With eyes that seemed ready to kill, Chloe fixed her gaze on one student.
“W-Wait a moment! I trained until late last night and depleted my magical power–”
“No need for excuses. Please pack your belongings. We’ll prepare a carriage for you. Well done. – Louis Mysent.”
Everyone present was left speechless. They probably couldn’t believe that someone would be expelled so soon after enrolling. But Chloe’s matter-of-fact tone left no room for doubt.
The test was one-on-one, just like the mock exam.
I won all my matches, as did Lillith and Cynthia. As our points gradually decreased, mine steadily increased.
Interestingly enough, it was Alan who pushed Louis into hell. It was ironic, but it was also unavoidable.
Because if Alan had lost, he would have been expelled as well.
But in a way, it seemed fitting for the protagonist to be in such a situation.
Maybe it’s the will of the world, or perhaps an unseen hand is gripping us.
But right now, I’m more concerned about Louis.
“Teacher Chloe, please reconsider! He really had very little magical power left! This isn’t fair!”
“Oh Alan, if you think so, I can transfer all your points to him. Naturally, you’ll have to leave the academy as well.”
Despite Alan’s desperate protests, Sherry hurriedly stopped him. If he kept going, it would really end up that way.
Louis hung his head at the scene, but his expression gradually turned sinister.
“I am Louis, the eldest son of the Mysent family… a family that has contributed more than anyone else to this academy! Do you understand?”
“I know. But you were just a failure, that’s all.”
That heartless remark completely broke Louis’ spirit. But I was also surprised.
Louis wasn’t a failure. On the contrary, he had the potential to reach the top of the class.
In the original story, he not only achieved excellent grades, but he also graduated at the top.
Probably, no, undoubtedly, it’s because of my existence.
Originally, Louis should have taken away a large number of points from me. But that no longer happened, and the scenario broke.
It’s ridiculous that Alan ended up knocking him down… hahaha, this is amusing.
This is no longer the Noblesse Academy I know.
“Now, today’s class is over. Those who want to go home, a carriage will be prepared for you. For those without the energy, you can use the dormitory for outsiders.”
As Chloe left the scene, one by one, students began to move slowly, including the dejected Louis. It didn’t feel like the first day of school, but I was delighted.
The points system, the thrill of competition, is better than holding hands and being friends.
Maybe I truly am Weiss Fancent after all.
“Weiss-sama, shall we go? It’s almost dinner time.”
“…Aren’t you afraid, Cynthia?”
“What do you mean?”
“Well, um… someone was expelled today.”
“If they lost, it can’t be helped, right?”
“I agree! I’m hungry!”
To my surprise, Cynthia and Lillith had calm expressions.
They seemed much stronger than I had imagined.
But for some reason, I grew to like them even more.
The dormitory was equipped with high-standard facilities compared to regular schools, so that nobles could maintain their lifestyle without compromise. The latest magic-powered lights, magic automatic doors, and even bathtubs.
Noblesse Academy is divided into three grades: upper, middle, and lower class, each in a separate building for males and females.
This should give you a rough idea of how large it is.
However, there are also many shared facilities like the dining hall and meeting rooms.
Each building is connected horizontally, and a magic seal engraved on the back of your hand functions as a card key.
Our belongings were already being taken care of, so we headed to the cafeteria to satisfy our hunger. Perhaps because it was getting late, there were no senior students around. Numerous large tables and chairs were arranged in the cafeteria.
We called over one of the resident servers and ordered our meals.
This being the Noblesse Academy, even something as simple as bread or meat was of high quality.
If I had one complaint, it would be that they could increase the protein content and reduce the salt a bit. I missed Zebis a little.
“It’s quite delicious. Not as good as our family chef’s, though.”
“I can’t believe all of this is free… I’m so happy!”
As Lillith said, all the facilities, including meals, were free for the enrolled students to enjoy a comfortable life. There were also places for physical training and a study room available.
We enjoyed a quiet time, but eventually, our fellow classmates from the same grade arrived.
All of them had excelled in Chloe’s test, probably because they had strong nerves.
Among them, I noticed Alan and Sherry.
I couldn’t hear what they were talking about, but it was probably something like “You won’t feel better unless you eat” or so.
Sherry is the daughter of a viscount.
She seemed to have taken an interest in Alan, a commoner whom she had come to know by chance, and they had a somewhat close childhood friend-like relationship.
“Do you really care that much about him? I mean, about Alan?”
At that moment, I realized what Cynthia was saying. I smiled, knowing she was conscious of it.
On the back of my right hand, it displayed 2500 points, combined with the points I took from others. On the other hand, Alan probably had barely 100 points.
I was still… undecided.
Then, Lillith tried to take out a handkerchief from her pocket but accidentally dropped a gold coin. In this world, it was quite a large sum of money.
After picking it up, I remembered what she had said before.
“Just in time.”
“Lillith, can I borrow this for a moment?”
“Huh? Sure, but what are you going to do?”
“A little test.”
If it landed heads up, I would befriend Alan and avoid ruin until graduation.
If it landed tails up, I would crush Alan head-on and destroy everything.
Either way, it would be entertaining.
I placed the gold coin on my thumb and flicked it.
A pleasant sound echoed as it soared high into the air.
The currency in this world had the kingdom’s castle on one side and a dragon, a symbol of power, on the other.
But perhaps I miscalculated the strength, as the gold coin veered sideways instead of forming a neat trajectory. The dropped coin rolled on the ground, hit a man’s shoe, and spun around before coming to a stop.
The man who picked it up showed me a refreshing smile.
An untroubled smile, an affectionate and friendly face that irked me for some reason.
“Hey, Weiss, you dropped this.”
“Thanks… Alan…”
As he handed the coin back to me, the dragon seemed to glare at me.
