I Have been Reincarnated As a Lazy, Arrogant Noble, but When I Destroyed The Scenario Through Effort, I Became The Most Powerful With Extraordinary Magical Power - 203
Chapter 203: The Four Dragons
Our brief respite of hospitality was short-lived as we quickly made our way into the forest.
It was late afternoon, and although we were told we could rest and start fresh tomorrow, it would be better to proceed as soon as possible.
We were tired, but we hadn’t been trained to be weak. Marching through the forest without sleep was commonplace.
I led the way, followed by Tula, Lilith, with Biado in between, and Olin bringing up the rear, sharp in his magical senses.
It would have been nice to say everything was going smoothly, but trouble had already arisen.
A bear bear appeared from the forest.
It’s a magical creature resembling a bear, but with a tough body housing magic.
Biado drew his sword and yelled.
“Uh oh! This one is—”
“Yeah.”
With a strike from his magic sword, Dual Sword, the bear bear was split in two and fell to the ground.
“Lilith, Tula, stay alert. Olin, keep using your senses.”
“Understood.”
“Got it.”
“Okay. But something’s clearly off. The miasma is getting thicker.”
Then, Biado suddenly stopped in his tracks.
Lilith asked if he was okay.
“…No, sorry. I didn’t expect it to be taken down in one hit.”
“Lord Weiss is exceptional.”
“Yeah, indeed. But it’s strange, even though there were supposed to be no monsters.”
Biado was right.
But those creatures shouldn’t be living around here.
Have they escaped, or gathered here?
Considering there’s a dragon, it’s probably the former.
What worries me is that I can’t feel any magic from the dragon.
When I fell from the cliff before, I immediately sensed its immense magic.
We’re getting closer to our destination, yet I don’t understand anything.
…Nooblesse Oblige, what are you thinking?
Then we proceeded silently, strengthening our vigilance.
Several monsters appeared, but we dealt with them without any issues.
Olin doesn’t mind monsters. But he doesn’t fuss about them at times like these.
He carefully assesses what’s happening and what needs to be protected.
That’s worthy of respect.
Unlike me, who acts on a sense of justice, he’s more likable than Allen because he can be rational.
And as we approached our planned location, the magic diminished to its maximum.
We walked quietly until we finally heard the sound of the waterfall.
“Lord Weiss, is it possible not to feel the dragon’s magic this close?”
“…Impossible. If Olin’s senses aren’t responding, then it’s clearly abnormal.”
But there was only one thing, just one thing I suspected.
…Unthinkable, but…
First, I lowered my posture and looked at the waterfall.
I wanted to use my Observant Eye, but the magic was too overwhelming.
The intermittent flowing waterfall.
Behind it, I found something unbelievable.
Scales almost transparent and colorless.
Despite not containing magic, they exuded dominance.
The giant claws reminded me of their former terror.
But more than that, I noticed.
“…This is…”
He must have noticed from my profile. Olin came running over.
Olin, who is deeply knowledgeable about creatures, had his expression changed as well.
“Lord Weiss, that thing… could it be…?”
“Yeah, it’s one of the Four Dragons… the Water Dragon.”
