I Heard I’m a Scummy Alpha? [Transmigration] - Chapter 4
Yan Zui came down the stairs. When Qi Yunwei saw her, she stood up and greeted politely, “You, are you feeling better?”
Yan Zui didn’t spare her a glance, as if they had never exchanged eye contact on the staircase earlier.
Qi Yunwei didn’t feel awkward at being ignored. After all, she had bitten Yan Zui—at this point, they were clearly the offender and the victim.
Passing right by her, Yan Zui only gave a slight nod to Qi Jiuyuan and the other two who were still seated, maintaining the composure of elders. Her tone was cool:
“My parents are waiting for you upstairs in the reception room.” Then she turned to the butler. “Uncle Jiang, please take them up.”
Her airy words carried a faint superiority that made Qi Jiuyuan and Luo Yi’s expressions tighten.
Qi Jiusi, ever the smooth talker, quickly stood with a smile. “President Yan is too thoughtful, coming down in person just to inform us. Brother, Sister-in-law, let’s head up now—we mustn’t keep Chairman Yan and Madam waiting.”
Qi Yunwei was about to follow them upstairs when Yan Zui suddenly said, “The washroom is this way. Come with me.”
Qi Jiusi, overhearing, thought Yan Zui had only spoken because Qi Yunwei had taken the initiative. She turned back, secretly flashing her a “cheer up” gesture.
qi Yunwei returned an “OK” sign, then followed Yan Zui in another direction.
She had no idea what Yan Zui wanted to say to her.
Once inside the washroom, Yan Zui closed the door, then turned to face her. Her deep, ocean-dark eyes locked onto Qi Yunwei’s face.
The space felt cramped. If Yan Zui leaned in any closer, the faint scent of berries might resurface. Remembering her body’s uncontrollable reaction yesterday, Qi Yunwei’s cheeks warmed. She instinctively retreated a step, bumping into the sink’s cold porcelain edge. The chill seeped through her clothes, helping her calm the frantic beating of her heart.
Yan Zui’s face was simply too breathtaking. Qi Yunwei’s eyes sparkled as she stared, reluctant to look away.
“…” Meeting that luminous gaze, Yan Zui’s eyes darkened.
“Qi Yunwei, I know it was you who drugged me. Don’t bother pretending to be innocent in front of me.”
Her curled black hair quivered slightly with her words, its glossy darkness making her skin look even paler, like snow. And her lips—far too red.
Heat rushed through Qi Yunwei’s chest. She answered seriously, “I’m sorry, it was all my fault. Whatever you want me to do to make it up to you, I’ll do it.”
Yan Zui watched her feigned sincerity, scrutinizing her for a moment. Then she stepped closer, lips parting slightly.
“You want to compensate me?”
Her long lashes lifted. Those black eyes were less than twenty centimeters from Qi Yunwei’s.
Qi Yunwei’s eyes widened. Dizzy, she still nodded.
Yan Zui abruptly withdrew, her tone cool. “Then sign this contract.”
From nowhere, she produced a neatly prepared document and handed it over.
Clearly, she had come prepared.
Qi Yunwei pressed her aching stomach lightly, then took the contract and scanned the clauses.
“After marriage, we won’t share a bedroom. No physical contact except for the required monthly marking. A one-time payment of one million. All post-marriage assets are separate from mine. No infidelity allowed. If I mark another Omega, divorce will be immediate, and you’ll leave with nothing.”
Reading that far, Qi Yunwei remembered how Yan Zui, in the novel, fell in love with various Alphas. She couldn’t help but ask, “And if you’re the one who cheats?”
Yan Zui shot her a cool glance. “I won’t cheat. I have no interest in Alphas.”
Qi Yunwei thought to herself: not necessarily. She pressed, “I know you’re not interested in useless Alphas like me. But say a few really impressive Alphas show up, and you can’t resist—then what?”
Yan Zui’s lips tightened into a thin line, dark currents surging in her eyes. “Qi Yunwei, I am not joking. Don’t think you can provoke me to get what you want. I said I have no interest in any Alpha—not one, not several. I meant it.”
Uh oh. She’d pushed too far.
Qi Yunwei immediately laid the contract on the sink and signed it. “I was just asking casually, I’m sorry — this is entirely on me. Please don’t carry the hurt of anger; it will only harm you.”
She looked up, meeting Yan Zui’s cold face. After a beat, she smiled and placed the signed contract into Yan Zui’s hand. “It hurts everyone’s heart, after all.”
Yan Zui frowned slightly but didn’t respond to the flattery. Once she checked the signature, she turned and opened the washroom door, leaving without another word.
Clutching her stomach, Qi Yunwei followed, thinking regretfully that she should have eaten those cold buns this morning. She wasn’t sure if the Yan family would serve lunch, but her body was already on the verge of collapse from hunger.
Yan Zui’s heels clicked rapidly against the floor. Qi Yunwei, weak and faltering, struggled to keep up. The distance between them grew, and her dizziness worsened until she couldn’t help but call out, “Yan Zui, I”
Yan Zui frowned, turning just in time to see her collapse forward. Qi Yunwei fell against her, forcing Yan Zui back two steps in her heels before she barely steadied herself, heart racing wildly.
Qi Yunwei’s chin rested on her shoulder, arms tightening around her waist. Yan Zui flushed with anger and tried to pry her off. “Qi Yunwei, you signed the contract and you’re already breaking it.”
Her voice came muffled against Yan Zui’s ear. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to. I skipped breakfast, I’m too dizzy to stand. Just let me lean for a moment.”
Maybe because of the mark she’d received from Qi Yunwei, Yan Zui could sense her weakness. Realizing she wasn’t lying, she stiffly stopped struggling.
Still half-dazed, Qi Yunwei sighed and laughed softly. So easy to soften up.
If it was her, she wouldn’t just refuse support—she’d toss the person to the floor and give them a few kicks for good measure.
Meanwhile, upstairs, the Qi parents, aunt, and the Yan couple smoothly finalized the marriage arrangements. Smiles all around, they descended the stairs together.
Chairman Yan Zhao shed all his usual airs, grinning as he said to the Qi family, “It’s noon already. Why don’t you stay for lunch?”
Everyone was in high spirits.
As they descended the winding staircase, Yan Zhao turned to call for the butler and ask where Qi Yunwei was. But then he glanced sideways—and froze.
Not far away, Yan Zui was tightly embracing a woman. Their bodies were pressed so close they seemed to melt into one.
Shocked, he blurted out, “What are you two doing?!”
