I Paired Up With a Woman From an Adventurer Matchmaking App, She Had Perfect Compatibility, But the Worst Personality. When Our Erotic Compatibility Exceeded 200%, She Became the Most Obedient Team Member at Night. - Chapter 5
This world stretches vast and boundless.
Or perhaps, in truth, there is a true “end” somewhere.
A wall beyond which one cannot pass? A colossal waterfall where the ocean’s currents cascade into the abyss?
In taverns and marketplaces, countless myths and speculations swirled about the world’s edge.
Yet even the most seasoned adventurers had never reached it, leaving the world’s true extent shrouded in mystery.
But on the world map, there existed a region that could rightfully be called the frontier—the farthest confirmed territory.
This was the Demon Realm, a festering nest of demonic creatures.
The distance from our city, Altera Walda, to the Demon Realm was immense.
The closer one ventured to this realm, the closer one drew to the heart of demonic territory.
As a result, no human settlements could survive in the Demon Realm’s vicinity.
This city, renowned as an adventurer’s hub, also served as the frontline for adventurers heading to the battlefield.
That’s why it was deemed to have sufficient combat power for the Demon Lord subjugation. However, it wasn’t as simple as saying, “Just form a party and head straight there.”
Fortunately, adventurers’ transportation methods have significantly improved recently.
What I’m trying to say is…
From the adventurer city of Altera Walda to the Demon Realm, the means of transporting our Demon Lord subjugation team, no, rather, our wings, was a dragon.
“…So, even dragons are being tamed these days,”
I muttered, clinging to the rough back of the massive dragon.
The dragons transporting us were apparently monsters controlled by High-Rank Tamers.
We split into groups and climbed onto the backs of the flapping dragons, ready for a swift flight to the Demon Realm.
Incidentally, these Tamers weren’t part of the subjugation force; they were strictly serving as carriers to the Demon Lord’s Castle.
In total, eight parties of thirty-six adventurers had answered the Guild’s call to challenge the Demon King.
One of those parties, consisting of two members, was Cordelia and me.
Cordelia, however, was riding a different dragon.
Given the awkwardness between us, I was relieved not to have to face her.
Oblivious to our inner turmoil, the massive yet graceful dragons soared through the sky, their wings flapping with apparent delight.
We flew towards the enemy’s stronghold at such a speed that walking across the land seemed absurd.
Of course, even in a straight line, the distance was considerable, so it still took a while. Nevertheless, we reached Demon Lord’s Castle remarkably quickly, considering we had left the city early in the morning and stopped to rest the dragons at key points along the way.
The sun hadn’t yet set; it was late afternoon.
The gloomy purple hue of the sky stretching across the land where we landed was certainly not due to some idyllic sunset.
Before us stood a sinister, pitch-black castle, its very appearance radiating ill omen.
Several towering spires loomed oppressively, and the main gate stood wide open, as if daring us to enter.
“Alright! Everyone, is your equipment ready?!”
“Ooooooooh!”
The burly man chosen as the leader of this large-scale Demon Lord subjugation party roared, his voice booming as he rallied his comrades.
In response, the party members raised their arms in unison.
The leader, who might have had Dwarf bl00d in him, sported a thick, shaggy beard covering the lower half of his face. He effortlessly swung a heavy one-handed axe—a weapon that would require two hands for an ordinary human to wield, given its weight and size.
“The final battle against the Demon King is upon us! We will all return alive!”
“Uoooooooh!”
“Victory is ours! We have nothing to fear from the Demon King!”
“Uoooooooh!”
…I felt like the leader’s influence had made the entire party’s atmosphere overwhelmingly masculine.
To be fair, there were supposed to be some female adventurers among us, like the healing mages and archers. But, swept up in the atmosphere, they too were roaring fiercely, “Ooooh!”
Suddenly, I noticed Cordelia standing with her arms crossed, a bored expression on her face.
Unfazed by the atmosphere, she gazed absently at the Demon Lord’s Castle, her jawline appearing beautifully coquettish.
“Let’s goooooo! Follow meeeee!”
By then, the leader, having finished rallying the party, had already charged into the Demon Lord’s Castle.
Maintaining our prearranged formation, we followed in lockstep, moving like a single living creature.
The all-out war between humans and the Demon King was about to begin.
