- I Planned My Escape Because I Knew Her Secret
- Episode 15 - Two Months Before The Wedding
When I went to pick up Madoka at her house, she came out right away, so as soon as I got in the car, we started talking without driving off.
“Why do you suddenly want to meet? Is there something you need to talk about?”
“Hmm, I kind of wanted to see your face.”
“I see. I’m really tired and worn out today, so is it okay if we just chat in the car like this?”
“Yeah. You went on a trip, right? Where did you go?”
I anticipated this question, so I told the lie I had thought of in advance.
“Numazu in Shizuoka. I suddenly wanted to eat some delicious fish dishes, so I went to Numazu Port.”
“Eh! I wanted to go too!”
“Oh really? Then let’s go next time. Once we’re married, we’ll have more opportunities to take our time on trips.”
“Yeah! So, what did you eat?”
“Fried horse mackerel set meal”
“Wow, that looks great and delicious. You have to take me there next time, okay?”
“Yeah, got it.”
While talking about such things, we discussed the budget for the wedding rings, decided on a day to go look at furniture and appliances for the new home, talked about cleaning the new place before moving in, and discussed things like curtains.
At 10 PM, Madoka hugged me, kissed me, and then got out of the car.
After confirming that Madoka had entered the house, I started the car and went home, collapsing into bed without even taking a shower.
When March came, I bought a new smartphone.
Since I will be using it after moving to Okayama, I haven’t used it yet, but I decided to prepare it early because all the apartment contracts and such will be under this phone number.
However, since I don’t use it at all yet, and if Madoka were to find it, she would definitely become suspicious, I keep it tucked away at the back of the cabinet in my room instead of carrying it around.
And since White Day is in March, I prepared that as well.
I bought a set of teacups to use in my new home.
I didn’t know what kind of things would match Madoka’s taste, so I actually went to the store and looked at various items, but halfway through, I didn’t care anymore and just chose something that wasn’t too cheap or too expensive.
The set of teacups I bought was left in the car, and on the 14th, I stopped by Madoka’s house on my way home from work and handed them over directly.
I was planning to leave right after handing it over, but Madoka was so happy and said, “Come on in!” So even though I wanted to go home, I couldn’t and ended up chatting in Madoka’s room for an hour.
Also, in March, we went to look for furniture for our new home and wedding rings.
I had decided to buy at least a bed, a low sofa and table for the living room, and a wardrobe by the end of March, as I expected that they would be in short supply by the moving season in April.
I didn’t care since I wasn’t going to use it myself, and besides, it was better to prioritize Madoka’s opinion. So, I let Madoka choose everything, and I would just answer if she occasionally asked for my opinion.
I decided on all the furniture, and while I was at the furniture store, I also chose the curtains. I confirmed the delivery address and date, and settled the payment right there.
The furniture will arrive at the new house in early May, so we decided to clean the room once before that, and Madoka will be present at the new house on the day of delivery.
We chose the wedding rings at the same store where we bought the engagement ring. Just like with the furniture, I had no preferences or opinions, so I left everything to Madoka to decide.
The preparations for married life are steadily progressing.
I’ve left all the detailed arrangements for the venue to Madoka, and all that’s left is to get the appliances and bedding, and maybe our own move.
Also, when I checked the availability of the apartment with the real estate agency in Okayama in late March, they said it was still available, so I informed them that I wanted to proceed with the contract and requested them to send the necessary documents.
By the way, I had it sent to my workplace store. If it were sent to my home and my parents saw it, everything could be ruined.
March, two months before the wedding, passed by in a busy manner like this.
Around this time of year, on days when I was exhausted from being busy with work or having to deal with Madoka’s sudden “I want to see you” calls, I started thinking, “I want to escape and be free as soon as possible.”
