- I Planned My Escape Because I Knew Her Secret
- Episode 16 - One Month Before The Wedding
When April came, I became busier than in March.
At work, I ended up being responsible for the store training of two new employees, and as a result, I inevitably had to work more overtime in early April.
Thanks to that, it took a bit of time to prepare the contract documents for the apartment at the new location and to go to the bank to transfer the money, and I got quite anxious thinking that if I didn’t hurry, the vacancy would be filled!
When I received the notification that the contract had been successfully completed, I felt truly relieved.
Moreover, even though I entrusted everything about the ceremony to Madoka, I was fed up with receiving constant confirmation messages from her.
If it were truly a marriage without any issues, I would have responded sincerely, but now I have no motivation at all. Even so, I couldn’t show that in my attitude, so it became a mental pain.
However, it seems that Madoka, who is also busy preparing for the ceremony, has been a bit emotionally unstable, crying over little things and increasing the number of “I want to see you” calls.
Especially, Madoka’s birthday was also in April, but that day was terrible.
That day, we coordinated our days off to go on a date for the whole day and spent the night at a hotel, but when I took her home, she started saying, “I don’t want to go home yet,” and wouldn’t get out of the car. In the end, when we finally got out of the car and went inside the house, it was already past midnight.
Also, regarding Madoka’s SM club, while I thought, “It has nothing to do with me anymore. She can do as she pleases,” I suddenly wondered, “Is she planning to continue after getting married? Or will she quit because of the marriage?” So, I checked the store’s website for the first time in a while, and Queen Karen’s photo was gone.
When did you quit?
Or did they transfer to another store?
Since I was curious about that, I called the store pretending to be a customer and asked, and they told me that they retired at the end of February.
Well, it’s a bit late to think about it, but I wondered if she had no intention of bringing her secret life as an SM mistress into our married life. It gave me a little bit of relief.
When May arrived, we received the keys to our new home and began preparing for our married life in earnest.
We coordinated our days off to clean, and bought appliances, cooking utensils, dishes, bath supplies, and so on. Additionally, with Madoka’s supervision, we finished moving in the furniture, and we were prepared to live comfortably.
So Madoka suggested, “Before we start our new life, let’s try staying over as a test.”
The sleepover is on the weekend when Madoka has a day off.
Madoka spent Saturday morning tidying up the new house, and after finishing work that day, I returned to the new house, ate the meal Madoka had prepared, took a bath together, had s3x, and then slept in the same bed.
By the way, I thought we couldn’t do it because we didn’t have condoms, but Madoka had already prepared some.
The next day, I had work again, so I went straight to work from the new house. After finishing work, I returned to the new house, ate the meal Madoka had prepared, tidied up everything, and then Madoka and I drove back to our parents’ homes separately.
We used to spend every weekend like this.
Also, in May, my successor came to work, so I started the handover process.
The successor was a junior who had no experience as a store manager, and in a way, it was my selfishness that led to them being put in charge. So, I did my best to make sure they wouldn’t have too much trouble.
When the level and awareness of part-time workers and temp staff are low, the burden inevitably falls on the store manager and managers. So, I showed them the carrot by saying, “I want to raise your hourly wage as a parting gift, so I want you to work hard with that in mind while I’m here,” and I trained them rigorously in a Spartan manner.
Additionally, the labor shortage was a headache for the new store manager, so they requested ads for part-time job recruitment and asked the current part-timers to scout their friends. They conducted numerous interviews and managed to hire and secure several people.
By the way, my birthday was in May too, but I said, “I’m busy with the wedding preparations, so let’s celebrate properly after the ceremony,” and we ended up doing nothing.
In this way, I somehow managed to get through the busy days, and now it’s just one week before the wedding.
