Chapter 165: Arrival in the Kingdom of Eldrasia
“I can see the Kingdom of Eldrasia!”
On the eighth day after departing from the Kingdom of Rafios. A crew member shouted from the lookout atop the mast.
Those who were new to sea travel poured out of their cabins and crowded the deck. They were eager to catch a glimpse of the continent.
“Oh! So that’s the Kingdom of Eldrasia! Still, it’s crazy how much stronger the sunlight is after just a few days of travel.”
“Yeah, we’re lucky the weather’s been good. Even with calm seas, the ship sways quite a bit. If we had hit a storm, it would’ve been a nightmare.”
My subordinates couldn’t sit still inside the ship. They had already moved from the rear deck to the front, securing the best vantage points.
As in battle, Simon was the first to take action. He was followed closely by Arnault.
“Even though we can see it, it’ll still take about half a day to actually arrive. We should probably finish preparing to disembark before then.”
“We’ve already done that so many times out of boredom. Man, I can’t wait to finally stand on solid ground.”
“But I’ve heard that after a long voyage, people sometimes get ‘land sickness’.”
“Hah? Land sickness? You’re telling me you can get dizzy on land? That’s ridiculous!”
Marius was likely repeating something he had heard from the merchants in his family. He warned Gaspard, who was stretching and grumbling.
I had never been on a ship before, in either my past or current life. So I’d only heard about it—never experienced it myself. I hadn’t gotten seasick, so maybe I wouldn’t get land sickness either.
“I should let Jest know when we arrive…”
This was the longest I had been apart from Jest since forming our familiar contract.
More than once during the voyage, I’d caught myself about to speak to Jest. It was only to remember he wasn’t there. It really drove home how much I had gotten used to having him at my side.
“Captain, you looked so lonely without Jest! But hey, I’ll eat all the snacks in that magic bag of yours if that’ll make you feel better!”
Despite the fact that members of the First Knight Order were also present, Simon made this bold declaration with a big grin.
I glanced around, and everyone nearby immediately averted their eyes. It was as if pretending they hadn’t heard anything.
“Suuuh… fuuuh…”
Taking a deep breath, I grabbed Simon by the back of the head and pushed him toward the railing.
“Everything in here belongs to Jest. Don’t even think about touching it. Unless, of course, you’d rather become a snack for the Paralyzing Flying Fish?”
“Whoa! Whoa, whoa, whoa! That’s not funny, Captain! I definitely can’t swim all the way to shore from here!”
Simon clung desperately to the railing, his face pale.
I hadn’t actually intended to throw him overboard. But I may have used a bit more force than necessary.
Meanwhile, my other subordinates were completely unfazed. They continued gazing at the distant continent.

And so, after a (mostly) peaceful voyage, the ship finally arrived at the port of Eldrasia Kingdom as the sun began to set.
Waiting at the dock was none other than the kingdom’s crown prince, Felix, who was also the fiancé of Third Princess Clarisse. He was accompanied by a unit of knights, what appeared to be government ministers, and some robed figures who were likely from the Mage Tower.
“Welcome to the Kingdom of Eldrasia. I am Crown Prince Felix. On behalf of our kingdom, I extend a heartfelt welcome to all from the Kingdom of Rafios. And especially to you, Princess Clarisse—traveling to a distant land must be unsettling. But I promise to do my utmost to ensure your smile never fades.”
“Thank you. I look forward to our time together.”
With graceful poise, Crown Prince Felix kissed the back of Clarisse’s hand.
I had heard he was sixteen years old. But he was well over 180 cm tall, with loosely wavy red hair and a lean, tanned physique.
Perhaps due to the warmer climate, his attire showed significantly more skin compared to those from Rafios.
At first glance, he seemed rugged and masculine. But his green eyes, as he smiled at Clarisse, were warm and gentle.
Clarisse, for her part, seemed relieved. She was smiling softly.
“Looks like she got a good match.”
Arnault whispered just loud enough for our group to hear.
During the voyage, Clarisse had grown bored and often came to chat with us. We had all come to the same conclusion—if we had a little sister, we’d want her to be like her.
“Yeah. But even if he were some sketchy guy, her real brother would’ve set him straight before we ever needed to step in.”
I shifted my gaze to see Prince Ernest shaking hands with Crown Prince Felix. He was smiling in a way that was surprisingly natural.
“Prince Ernest sure has changed a lot, huh? Must be because he’s no longer under the pressure of being the crown prince.”
“Nah, that’s probably part of it, but don’t you think it’s more because Captain stopped bullying him?”
“Yeah! You used to pick fights with him all the time! And now, he actually seems to like you.”
“You three… any more than that and—”
Gaspard’s muttering prompted Simon and Arnault to say something unnecessary.
Marius, sensing my mood, tried to stop them—but he was a little too late.
“You lot… shall I treat you to a nice swim later? I happened to spot a very convenient cliff near the docking point.”
“””Hiii!”””
I made the suggestion in a low, ominous voice without even turning to face them.
All three of them let out small shrieks at the same time.
For some reason, even the knights in front of me—who weren’t part of my unit—were trembling.
