“Oh my, Lord Jest. Welcome back. When did you return here?”

Jest had returned to Justin’s mansion in the royal capital of the Rafios Kingdom. The one who spoke to him was the steward Tadeus.

“Tadeus! I just got back! Oh, and I brought letters from Justin and Ernest! There’s one from Clarisse too!”

Jest naturally called Ernest and Clarisse without honorifics. But Tadeus wasn’t surprised at all.

That’s because he understood there was no point in forcing human customs onto a dragon.

“Well, well, how splendid of you to run an errand. I shall arrange for the letters to be delivered.”

“Um, please only deliver the ones going to the castle. For Annabella, Orel, Ryuka, and Mom, I’ll deliver them myself!”

Jest pulled out four letters from the bundle and handed the rest to Tadeus.

Looking proudly after finishing a task, Jest made Tadeus smile warmly.

That’s because Tadeus had a ten-year-old grandson. He was the same age as Jest. He lived in the small viscounty granted by the king.

“Lady Anabella is off today. So I believe she is in the courtyard right now.”

Heading to the courtyard, Jest quickly found Anabella together with Tadeus’ wife, Manuela.

The two were happily picking flowers to decorate a room. But when they noticed Jest running toward them, they approached.

“Jest, welcome back. Did you meet with Lord Justin?”

“Yep! I brought Annabella’s letter too! Here!”

Receiving the letter handed to her, Annabella happily held it gently to her chest.

“Thank you. I’ll go back to my room and read it then.”

“I’m off to give letters to Orel and Ryuka now. I’m going back to Justin’s place in two days. So write your reply by then, okay? I’m also going to Mom’s place, so I’ll be back tomorrow!”

“Got it. Take care, okay?”

After Annabella saw him off, Jest held the now-thinner bundle of letters and headed to the Third Knights’ barracks from the mansion.

The barracks were close enough from the noble district that even on foot, Jest could get there quickly in human form.

Knowing the layout well, Jest headed straight through the Third Knights’ grounds to the training area.

Upon arriving, Jest heard a familiar, cute voice among the other voices of the members.

Near the entrance of the training grounds, Orel and the saintess Eleanor were… not flirting. But they were clearly doing beginner lessons.

“Jest! Thank you. Were the Captain and others doing well?”

Unlike Annabella, Orel slipped his finger into the seal and opened the letter right there to read it.

As Orel read, Eleanor slipped past him and came closer to Jest.

“Jest-chan, is there a letter for me?”

“Nope!”

Eleanor drooped her head in disappointment at the blunt answer.

“Fufu, but it says here to get along with Eleanor.”

Perhaps because there was no sensitive information, Orel showed the letter to Eleanor.

“Ugh… Still such beautiful handwriting… Ah, it’s true! He really did remember me!”

Seeing Eleanor happy, and Orel watching her fondly, Jest ran off toward Ryuka. It seemed Ryuka had stopped his guidance.

Apparently, Jest’s arrival had brought a break in training.

“I brought your letter, Ryuka!”

Opening his letter more roughly than Orel, Ryuka asked Jest for his thoughts.

As Ryuka patted Jest on the head, Jest smiled in satisfaction.

“Ehehe. I’ll be back in two days, so write a reply by then!”

“Got it. Hm? Who’s that last letter for? Lady Annabella?”

Looking at the one letter still in Jest’s hand, Ryuka tilted his head.

“Nope, it’s for Mom!”

“That woman… She barely ever wrote to me after going to the capital. And even this is basically just business stuff. I wonder what kind of letters he writes to his summoned beast Jeanne.”

Ryuka peeked curiously at Jest’s letter. But Jest turned his back and shielded it with his body.

“No way! This is for Mom!”

“Haha, I get it. I won’t take it. Say hi to Jeanne for me too.”

“Okay! I’ll be back tomorrow!”

Leaving those words behind, Jest teleported back to his nest.
