Episode 12

As the distance closed in, my heartbeat quickened, and my body was already tense with nervousness.  

Lucifer’s well-formed face loomed close.  

Her crimson eyes fixed on me, and her lips lifted slightly into a smile.  

“I’m going to take a little liberty here.”  

With those words, Lucifer’s finger gently touched my forehead.  

The cold sensation sent a shiver down my spine in an instant.  

The great Lucifer is touching me!  

Seriously, her face is way too close!  

No matter the angle, she possesses perfect beauty.  

Lucifer’s fiery red hair lightly brushed against my cheek, and just that made my inner otaku scream.  

Her eyelashes are so long!  

Even this close, her skin is unbelievably beautiful!  

This is too much.  

I feel like I might faint.  

Lucifer’s finger is softly touching my forehead!  

It’s soft and cold, completely melting my soul!  

I’m in trouble; I might die!  

I can’t help but worry that my pounding heart is audible.  

…No, no, it’s okay.  

Stay calm.  

If I react strangely here, it’ll ruin everything.  

I can’t waste such a precious moment!  

…At this point, I might be okay with my life ending here.  

“You really have contracts with both of them, huh?  

…So, Takigawa.  

How about we form a Union with the three of us?”  

…It seems she was confirming the contracts.  

Responding to Lucifer’s question, I momentarily spaced out and was slow to react. But then I calmly asked,  

“…What do you mean?”  

“It’s a simple story. You’ve made contracts with Seraph and Luminous. So how about you form a Union and start working on your Union tasks in earnest? The best way to get stronger to protect those two is to hunt monsters.”  

…A Union, huh.  

Because I had already made contracts, the order of events is a bit strange.  

Normally, you would become a high-ranking angel or demon, form a Union, and then make contracts.  

The choice of whether to create a Union or not wouldn’t even be available after making a contract.  

When I heard the word “Union” ,the first to react was Luminous, who had been silently listening the whole time.  

“A Union…? Can I really create a Union?!”  

…Creating a Union and becoming a big shot was one of Luminous’ goals.  

Since her dream is coming true, it’s no wonder her excitement is through the roof.  

“Yeah, it’s fine. Since the contract-maker has a contract with Seraph, it would mean a joint Union with Seraph.”  

“Takigawa! Let’s create a Union!”  

Please don’t suddenly lean in like that.  

I might fall for you.  

The sight of her little devil tail wagging side to side is so cute.  

That tail is very sensitive, and just touching it would make her let out lewd sounds, but of course, I have no intention of doing that now.  

I divert my gaze from her as she grabs both my hands, her eyes sparkling.  

If I don’t, I don’t think my heart can handle it.  

…Participating in a Union.  

The fact that I can work alongside Seraph and Luminous, something that was impossible in the main game, would send any player into a frenzy of joy.  

If I were the protagonist instead of a mob character, I might have rejoiced at this.  

However, I am merely a mob character…  

One of my plans to enjoy the main game is to maintain a contract with Seraph and Luminous while avoiding a deep relationship with them.  

I wanted the flow to be that when the main game starts, either Seraph or Luminous would contract with the protagonist.  

…If I create a Union, there would be no turning back.  

Of course, I did have a desire to try forming a Union. And it’s likely that I should stay close to protect the safety of the two.  

The main goal of the game is for the protagonist, having formed a contract with either a rookie high-ranking angel or a rookie high-ranking demon, to increase the Union’s notoriety.  

By raising the notoriety above a certain level and increasing the favorability of the contracted Union leader, you can enjoy those lovely scenes.  

As the notoriety increases, more people will want to join your Union. And for some reason, you could accept only applicants who are all women as new contract makers.  

By raising their favorability, various lewd scenes will be unlocked, which is the basic premise of this game.  

Of course, the main story scenarios and RPG elements are well-developed, so it can still be enjoyable even without the lewd scenes.  

In other words, by participating in a Union, I can enjoy this world like any typical RPG. So I do have the desire to create a Union.  

“Union sounds great.”  

The moment Seraph said that with a smile, Michael’s expression suddenly brightened.  

“In that case, I’d love for you to join the jurisdiction of Michael’s Union—”  

“Join the jurisdiction of Lucifer’s Union! You’re more than welcome!”  

Lucifer interjected, cutting off Michael’s words.  

Michael’s smile grew even more intense.  

Ah, that’s the look she has when she’s angry.  

“Lucifer. Could you please not interrupt when someone is talking?”  

“Well, you suddenly tried to take over, so how could I just stay silent?”  

“I thought if I left you alone, you might forcefully invite someone. You’re always so pushy. Just the other day—”  

“Now, now, calm down. If you get too angry, those laugh lines are going to get so deep they won’t be covered by makeup!”  

“Who do you think I’m angry at?”  

It was obvious that Michael’s anger was rising.  

Lucifer and Michael often have exchanges like this, but to see it live…  

I couldn’t be more pleased.  

I had a great time witnessing interactions that I had never seen in the game. But then Lucifer glanced at me as if she was trying to escape.
