I Reincarnated as Just a Mob in an Eroge World, but the Heroines Are Swarming Me - Episode 41
Episode 41
After returning from training, we headed to the dining hall.
The breakfast prepared by Yoshiko-san was just like last night. It was a warm and comforting spread of home-cooked dishes. Steamed white rice, miso soup, grilled fish—simple yet soothing flavors filled the table.
“Thank you for the meal.”
We each expressed our gratitude and quietly ate. The chaos from last night was long forgotten, replaced by the peaceful stillness of the morning.
Amidst this calm, Kirisaki set her chopsticks down and looked at me.
“Takigawa, what’s the plan for today? I’m ready to fight whenever.”
“…..I was thinking of heading to a dungeon for some leveling.”
“Got it. I’m planning to visit my family. You’ll be fine on your own?”
“Yeah, no problem.”
“Alright then. Once I’m back, we can dive together again. I’ll keep you company.”
“You just want to fight me, don’t you?”
“That’s not true!”
Kirisaki shook her head vigorously. Seraph and Luminous, seated nearby, turned their gazes toward us.
“…Is it safe for you to go to a dungeon alone?”
“I’ll manage.”
“Normally, people go into dungeons with a group, don’t they?”
Luminous glanced at Kirisaki, who tilted her head.
“I often go in alone, so I don’t see the issue.”
“…….That’s true for you, Kirisaki. So does that mean Takigawa is that strong?”
“I fought him yesterday and lost.”
“”What!?“”
Both Seraph and Luminous looked at me in astonishment.
“It wasn’t a loss, just a draw. If it were a fight to the death, I wouldn’t stand a chance.”
“I don’t think that’s true. If it were life or death, you’d fight even harder.”
……Well, yeah. That’s probably accurate.
It’s hard to predict what would happen in an all-out fight.
“Takigawa-san, You’re already that strong.”
“…Just don’t do anything reckless, okay?”
“Don’t worry. I’m not looking to get myself killed.”
I nodded to reassure them, finished my meal, and began preparing to head to the dungeon.
—
Martha-san drove me to the dungeon.
Kirisaki stayed in the car since Martha would take her to her family home afterward.
As I entered the Shizuho Dungeon alone, my routine remained the same—eating properly, strategizing for efficient experience gain, and fighting.
The Kyoeis appeared as usual, attacking relentlessly. But none of them posed a real challenge.
After spending enough time fighting, you begin to understand.
Unlike a game, leveling up doesn’t automatically make you stronger here.
Mastery over magic and techniques must be developed independently.
Infusing magic into gloves or boots, finding ways to corner enemies—these are skills you have to figure out yourself.
…Honestly, it’s fun.
There’s so much more to do in this reality than there was in the game.
I suppose this might explain Kirisaki’s love for combat.
I focused entirely on optimizing my movements: controlling magic, evading attacks, and creating effective combos with my strikes.
—
After finishing my battles in the dungeon, I got into Martha-san’s car when she came to pick me up.
“We’ll be picking up Kirisaki-san next, so please bear with us for a bit.”
“Kirisaki isn’t staying at her family’s place for the night?”
“Apparently not. She mentioned needing to return to Tenma City tomorrow morning for work on behalf of Michael-sama. But she plans to relax again after that.”
I see.
As Martha drove us to Kirisaki’s family home, I reflected on its portrayal in the game.
The Shizuho City setting didn’t include much detail, just that her family had perished when the city was destroyed by the Void Shadow Incursion.
About 30 minutes later, we arrived in a residential area beyond some rice fields.
Kirisaki’s house was a typical detached home—nothing particularly special.
In the game’s lore, her mother was an ordinary woman, her father was a moderately skilled Soul Binder, and she had one younger brother and one younger sister—a perfectly average family by this world’s standards.
Soon, Kirisaki came out of the house with her family. It was likely to see her off.
Martha stepped out of the car and opened the back door for her.
“Takigawa. How was the dungeon?”
Kirisaki asked as she got in.
“Nothing worth reporting.”
“As long as you didn’t get hurt, that’s fine. So… no plans for combat later?”
“I’m just heading back to the inn, right? Don’t you want to stay with your family?”
…….She doesn’t have much time left with them.
Though I kept that thought to myself, guilt weighed on me.
“It’s fine. Michael-sama has assigned me a task that requires me to return to Tenma City, and the inn is closer anyway.”
“…Fair enough.”
As I responded, I noticed Kirisaki’s father and mother glance in my direction.
