I Reincarnated as Just a Mob in an Eroge World, but the Heroines Are Swarming Me - Episode 48
Episode 48
I can barely breathe. I drive the bike toward the sounds of battle.
Over there… the Soul Binders were fighting.
They were struggling, injured, but still desperately hanging on against the shadows.
“Bzzt!”
Right then, I struck down a Kyoei that was charging at one of the Soul Binders with a bolt of lightning.
“What the—!?”
I electrocuted that one Kyoei, and the lightning spread, wiping out the other nearby Kyoeis.
“Wha— What kind of power is this…?”
“Who— Who are you?”
The Soul Binders were shocked and looked at me. I raised my voice to reply.
“I’m a Soul Binder from the Seraph & Luminous Union. You need to retreat immediately. Fighting here is a waste of time!”
“Y-yes…!”
They were probably fighting to protect civilians or evacuate them.
I immediately revved up the bike and headed toward the Shizuho Dungeon.
The situation near the gates of Shizuho Dungeon was even worse.
The gate was still open. And from there, Kyoeis and Kyōjūs were emerging.
…….I have no choice.
If they were allowed to roam freely, we’d be in serious trouble.
I had to crush them, enter the dungeon… and take down the boss who was keeping the gate open.
I prepared my magic and clenched my fists, then charged forward.
“Haaahhh!!”
I unleashed my magic, shooting down the Kyoeis that were trying to take to the sky.
“What?!“
“Human! Crush him!“
One of the Kyōjūs roared and ordered the kyoeis to charge at me.
Meanwhile, the fastest Kyōjū lunged at me, claws raised, clearly eager to strike.
“Die!!”
I sidestepped its attack and threw a punch.
It landed squarely on the beast’s face, but that wasn’t enough.
They don’t fall so easily.
The beast bared its sharp teeth and retaliated, but I kicked it away with a swift motion.
However, before I could even catch my breath, another Kyoei attacked.
“Ugh… These guys!”
Kyoeis were closing in from all directions. Their sharp claws grazed my arm, and I could hear a roar from behind me.
The Kyōjūs and Kyoeis were working in sync, as if they had coordinated their attack.
“What can one person do?!“
“Let’s just kill him quickly!“
Each of them attacked not just with strength, but with a strategy to corner me.
On an individual level, I was stronger, but being swarmed like this left me struggling to keep up.
…If this were a fight I could experience in the game, I’d be able to stabilize my movements without a problem.
Despite continuously taking hits, I tried to minimize the damage with solid defense.
I fought back with fists and kicks, taking down enemy after enemy.
But every time I attacked, another Kyoei would charge at me, sacrificing itself in a suicidal rush.
Each time, my stamina dwindled, and my breath grew heavier.
…The Kyōjūs directing the Kyoeis are becoming a real pain.
The constant combat was draining me further.
If it were one-on-one, I wouldn’t lose. But against a horde, I couldn’t avoid taking some hits.
Suddenly, I was tackled hard, and I rolled on the ground. There was no time to lie down and rest—I sprang back to my feet and jumped to the side, narrowly avoiding a Kyōjū’s tail as it stabbed into the ground where I had just been.
“Tch, still moving?“
Damn it…
I immediately charged toward the Kyōjū and delivered a powerful right hook.
Its skull cracked and it collapsed to the ground. But before I could celebrate, another Kyōjū charged from behind.
I dodged its claws and countered with a kick.
I sent it flying, then unleashed a bolt of lightning. Almost at the same time, the enemy fired a fire spell at me.
I stomped the ground, activating an ice spell to create a wall to block the fire magic.
I barely managed to stop the fire, and I could feel the heat from it. If I had been even a fraction slower, I would have been burned alive.
I took down a few more Kyoeis and Kyōjūs. But each time, more appeared from the gate.
The Kyoeis weren’t decreasing—they seemed to be spawning endlessly. My strength was rapidly fading, and my vision began to blur.
“…I’m not done yet… I can still keep going…!”
I shouted to encourage myself, forcing my body to move.
My breath came in ragged gasps, and my limbs felt heavier than ever.
There was no time to rest, as the Kyoeis kept attacking me, closing in from all sides.
It was a hopeless situation. The boss was still far away.
If I could just get one more step closer…
I took a stance and prepared to face the approaching Kyoeis.
I swung my fists, crushing the heads of the Kyoeis in front of me. I followed up with a kick to the side of a Kyōjū’s head, then slammed the next one into the ground.
But my movements were clearly slowing down.
I was running out of stamina.
I couldn’t support my body after the last kick, and I stumbled.
At that moment, I was hit by another Kyoei’s attack.
I crossed my arms to block, but the place I blocked was throbbing with pain.
I infused more magic into my fists and charged at the next Kyōjū, but then—
“Ugh…!”
A sharp claw from behind slashed across my back. Bl00d sprayed out, and excruciating pain shot through my entire body.
