“Stay still… and let me devour you!“

The beast’s roar echoed throughout the room, its overwhelming presence crushing down on me. The murderous intent filled the air, making it hard to breathe.

The beast stomped forward, closing in on me with threatening force. Death took shape and loomed closer.

Yet, even then, Seraph and Luminous reached out toward me. Their voices were slightly trembling. Their right and left hands extended before me, their palms touching.

I slowly brought my face closer to their hands to complete the contract.

At that moment, I lifted my head slightly, as if appealing to their emotions.

“Seraph, Luminous.”

I called their names, doing my best to speak with sincerity.

“I will definitely protect both of you.”

Seraph and Luminous were searching for a reliable human to form a contract with. These words should resonate with them… stirring their emotions deeply.

Their eyes widened slightly, and then they smiled, soft and relieved. They spoke their final words.

“”We vow to guide and fight alongside you!””

In that instant, I lightly kissed the spot where their hands touched. I had kissed the sacred fingertips of both an angel and a demon.

…I’m done for. My consciousness is fading… My brain has overloaded.

This is the scene from the game that I just recreated in real life! And I was the one who did it…!

A dizzying feeling of losing all rationality overwhelmed me. My heart was pounding so hard I thought it might explode. I might die from sheer excitement before I even get to fight the beast.

And then it happened.

A hot light and a cold darkness surged into my chest at the same time. It felt like fire and ice fused, racing through my body.

That force pulsed through me, causing my entire body to throb.

“Die!“

As the beast’s strike came at me, I raised my arm to release the power that had surged through me.

And— I caught the beast’s fist.

It felt light. Its punch was light. My strength kept increasing… beyond what I had imagined.

When I glanced at my right hand, I saw the symbol of my contract with Seraph glowing there. The design was of shining white wings, with a brilliant circle of light engraved at the center.

The beast, eyes wide with shock, swung its other fist at me. I caught that one with my left hand.

On my left hand was the mark of my contract with Luminous. It showed wings resembling those of a demon, with a small, cute tail. These were the same emblems I had seen in the game when forming contracts with Seraph and Luminous.

Which meant… I had formed contracts with both of them at the same time.

No, that can’t be right.

A contract with an angel or demon is made with a human soul. Once the contract is sealed, it lasts until the human dies. And a human can only form one contract.

This shouldn’t be possible… Wait. Could it be… that hidden setting?

I remembered the scenario writer, Nomura, asking something during one of our meetings.

『What if a person had two souls? Could they form contracts with both an angel and a demon?』

『Technically, yes. But we don’t plan to introduce such a character.』

『Got it.』

That hidden setting is kicking in at the worst possible time! Damn it, Nomura!

“W-What?! Y-You stopped my attack…?!“

The beast’s eyes widened in shock, clearly unsettled by its failed attack.

…I’ll worry about breaking the scenario later. For now, I need to crush this thing.

“Ugh…!“

“Prepare yourself.”

“S-Stop—!“

Seraph and Luminous were driven into a corner by this beast…! And it also threw the whole storyline off track! My fault? I don’t care!

I gathered all my strength and knocked the beast back. It staggered, and I clenched my right fist tightly… and swung it.

“Ugh?!“

My fist slammed into the beast’s cheek, sending its massive body flying. With the impact, the wall of the abandoned building collapsed.

I exhaled deeply, glaring at the beast.

…It’s defeated, it seems.
