Episode 8

A Union is a group formed by individuals who have made contracts with higher-ranking angels or demons, and only those upper angels or demons are allowed to create such organizations. Each Union, led by a higher angel, is responsible for gathering souls and maintaining order in this world.

It made sense that Seraph would bring me here. Considering that before the main storyline of the game started, she belonged to the strongest Union in the angel faction—the Michael Union.

Inside, I couldn’t help but feel my excitement rising. I mean, I’m really here, in *the* Michael Union. The place I had explored countless times in the game… and now I’m seeing it for real. The building I’d always admired from the screen is now physically in front of me.

Just being here was enough to make my chest feel like it was going to explode. This isn’t a dream, right? Can I pinch myself?

Looking around the Union’s surroundings, every little detail—whether it’s the decorations or the patterns on the walls—was exactly as I remembered from the game. “Oh, that angle! I’ve seen that exact view in the game!” I thought, recognizing everything instantly. It was thrilling.

As I looked around, Seraph approached me. She had a concerned expression.

“Takigawa-san, is your head okay?”

Huh? Something wrong? Wait… is she worried that I’ve noticed how excited I am about being in the game world?

“You hit your head pretty hard after defeating the Kyōjū, didn’t you? You got treated, but are you sure you’re fine?”

“Oh, right… I’m fine.”

So that’s what she was worried about. No issues there, at least.

“Michael-sama wishes to see you. Would you be able to follow me?”

“…Understood.”

Nodding to Seraph’s words, I stood up from the bed.

I’m going to meet Michael-sama.

While part of me was excited, I was also anxious about interacting with another major character from the game. After all… I just want to stay as a background character.

But I couldn’t just leave without expressing my thanks, especially after being saved. Also, there’s probably some discussion to be had about the contract I made with both Seraph and Luminous.

“By the way, you mentioned earlier… Did someone from the Union use healing magic on me?”

“Yes. Are your injuries still painful?”

“No, I’m fine.”

It’s rare for someone to be able to use healing magic. Although given the size of the Michael Union, it wouldn’t be surprising if they had a few people capable of it.

Still, meeting Michael-sama, huh…

I should thank the heavens for this opportunity. While Michael-sama isn’t one of the main characters, there were a few suggestive scenes involving her. It was thanks to one of the developers, Akasaki, who had a particular opinion during the game’s development. 

Akasaki once casually said, “I want to drink br3ast milk,” which led to a week-long meeting about who would be assigned that role. In the end, Michael-sama was chosen to fulfill that fantasy.

So, yes, Michael-sama is a higher-ranking angel who produces br3ast milk.

And, of course, one of the reasons I enrolled in Soulwing Academy was to witness *those* moments with Michael-sama firsthand.

Originally, my plan was to enjoy this world as a low-ranking contractor in the Michael Union, keeping things simple and easygoing. But… now that I’ve made contracts with both Seraph and Luminous, things are much more complicated.

As we walked together, I was still concerned on something and turned to Luminous. I then asked her something that had been on my mind.

“By the way, Luminous… you’re a demon, so why are you here?”

“I belong to the Lucifer Union, but… regarding our contract, Lucifer-sama also wants to have a word with you.”

“I see…”

The Lucifer Union is the strongest Union in the demon faction, equivalent to the Michael Union. Lucifer-sama is a queen-like character, embodying a domineering presence. One of the developers, Fujii, was especially passionate about her character and poured his desires into her design—particularly, his wish to be stepped on by her.

…Though, it was *me* who gleefully gave the green light for those scenes between Michael and Lucifer, so I can’t exactly complain.

“This way, please. Follow me.”

We stepped out of the room, heading toward the place where Michael and Lucifer were waiting.

As we entered the hallway, a grand corridor reminiscent of a luxurious mansion spread out before us. The floor was polished marble, and spotless windows lined the walls. The soft glow of the morning sun gently illuminated the hallway.

Michael Union. In the game, they had a massive mansion as their base.

…Seriously, I really have been reincarnated, haven’t I?

“Looks like Lucifer-sama has arrived as well.”

“…I see.”

Luminous said so while looking at her smartphone. I replied to her words with a slow nod. 

Michael and Lucifer… Meeting the two of them, who held such immense power even in the main game, huh? If possible, I’d like this to be the only time I have to meet them.

…After all, I’m just supposed to be a background character.

But, given my current situation, that’s probably not going to happen.

In the game, there wasn’t a single human who had made contracts with both angels and demons. I have no idea what lies ahead now.

With a mix of anticipation and unease, I continued walking with the two of them.
