I Transmigrated as a Scumbag Alpha and Became a Good Wife - Chapter 5
After seeing her guests off, Su Wenxun didn’t return to her previous room. Instead, she went straight to the kitchen. She casually tossed the wooden box containing the Concentric Lock into the trash can. A staunch materialist, she didn’t believe in such things, let alone that Ming Manxiang would genuinely seek them out for her out of kindness.
Su Wenxun glanced out the kitchen window. The sun hung high, bathing the lush greenery in golden light. It was nearly 2 PM.
In the original novel, Xu Xi often went days without a single meal, whether at the Xu family or the Su Family, leading to severe stomach problems. Having gone so long without food, Su Wenxun needed to prepare a meal for her right away.
She walked to the marble sink and reached for the faucet. Her hand paused on the metal handle, then retreated to her nose. A faint blush rose on her fair cheeks.
The scent of roses.
Xu Xi sat alone at the table. The clock on the white wall showed half an hour had passed, yet Su Wenxun still hadn’t returned. Frowning, she instinctively rose to her feet, then hesitated, mocking herself, “Su Wenxun isn’t you. How could Ming Manxiang possibly give her trouble?”
Still…
She extended her hand, still faintly warm. The Alpha’s hand felt different from what she remembered—no longer rough and forceful, but warm and delicate, easily enveloping hers completely.
“Have some congee.”
Su Wenxun carried the freshly cooked millet congee into the room, only to see Xu Xi awkwardly withdrawing her hand.
Xu Xi didn’t rush to eat. She remembered Ming Manxiang’s warning: Wanwan was still in her clutches.
The Xu Family had already abandoned her. To ensure Wanwan’s safety in her current predicament, she could only turn to one person.
“Su Wenxun, thank you for helping me out today. I have a request: could you postpone announcing whatever you planned to say until after I return home?” Xu Xi’s eyelashes trembled slightly. She suddenly recalled Su Wenxun’s earlier words—what difference was there between her and a prostitute? Now, she had completely abandoned her dignity. “In exchange, I’ll agree to any request you make.”
Su Wenxun didn’t immediately respond to Xu Xi’s plea.
In Breaking the Chains, no matter how cruelly the scum Alpha tormented her, Xu Xi had never yielded. She was resilient and ruthless toward herself, but her only weakness was her younger sister, Xu Wan.
Ming Manxiang’s visit today was not part of the original novel. Why would she realize Xu Wan’s importance to Xu Xi so early, even using it as a warning?
Could her arrival have altered the novel’s trajectory?
Yet, deep down, Su Wenxun’s sixth sense told her things weren’t as simple as they seemed. It felt as if a dark, venomous snake was lurking in the shadows, waiting for her to let her guard down before striking with its triangular head, sinking its fangs into a fatal spot.
She had to accompany Xu Xi back.
“I promise,” Su Wenxun said.
She simply pushed the congee forward. “Finish this bowl. That’s all I ask.”
Xu Xi gazed at the millet congee before her. The grains had been cooked until they bloomed completely. With a gentle stir of the spoon, the unique, earthy aroma of millet rose with the steam, filling the air.
“…Alright.”
The Omega usually maintained an icy demeanor toward others, but now her eyelids drooped, her long lashes casting soft shadows at the corners of her eyes, revealing the natural allure of her features. Her lips parted slightly, a habitual gesture, as she tentatively licked a small taste—an action completely out of character.
The warm rice porridge slid into Xu Xi’s mouth, down her esophagus, and filled her rumbling stomach.
As she lowered her head, a few strands of hair fell forward, partially obscuring her vision.
The next moment, the strands were tucked behind her ear.
The gesture felt too intimate, as natural as a lover’s touch. Xu Xi and Su Wenxun froze simultaneously.
Su Wenxun quickly withdrew her hand, snapping back to reality. “I’ll go get another bowl of porridge.”
Xu Xi watched Su Wenxun’s retreating figure, almost fleeing in disarray. She touched her ear, where the other woman’s fingers had brushed against it. The spot felt warm, even her earlobe flushed pink.
What a strange feeling.
In the kitchen, Su Wenxun’s heart pounded wildly. Even pressing her hand against her chest couldn’t contain its frantic rhythm, as if it were about to burst from her ribs.
She stared blankly at the bubbling rice porridge in the pot, lost in thought.
After a long moment, she closed her eyes in frustration. Though her current body was only 23 years old, she had already celebrated her 28th birthday in her previous life. Yet her earlier behavior had been no more mature than that of a lovestruck middle schooler.
But the moment she closed her eyes, her mind involuntarily recalled the image of the Omega eating porridge, her delicate pink tongue tentatively probing the warm liquid.
A cat’s tongue afraid of heat.
She’s even more like a white Ragdoll cat now. So cute.
The setting sun cast long shadows as stars began to climb the black silk of the night sky.
Having finished her evening routine, Su Wenxun passed by the room prepared for Xu Xi. It was quiet.
“She hasn’t stopped since we got back from the hospital. She must be asleep,” Su Wenxun murmured to herself through the door. “Good night, Wife. Sweet dreams.”
Without giving it another thought, she returned to the master bedroom.
The door creaked open slowly. The lights in the master bedroom were off; Su Wenxun was already exhausted. Disliking the harsh glare of bright lights before bed, she didn’t turn them on, instead relying on the faint moonlight filtering through the curtains to find her way to the bed.
She lifted the covers, slid in, and instinctively hugged her old cat plushie.
So soft, so smooth, and so fragrant.
Su Wenxun’s eyes snapped open, all traces of sleep vanishing instantly. She switched on the light and saw the beautiful and captivating Omega lying beside her in the same bed.
She had already arranged a new room for Xu Xi. Why was she still in her room?
Su Wenxun glanced over and caught a fleeting expression of disgust and resistance on Xu Xi’s face under the light. Yet Xu Xi suppressed her emotions, stiffening only slightly during Su Wenxun’s earlier embrace without any significant struggle.
The realization struck Su Wenxun like a blow. She cursed inwardly: Damn the original owner! This must be because the original Su Wenxun had done something similar before, making Xu Xi interpret her daytime words as a test, assuming she wanted Xu Xi to offer herself.
“Wife, I don’t want you to do this,” Su Wenxun said.
But Xu Xi’s eyes flickered with mockery. After washing up, she had returned to the master bedroom, suppressing her fear even though the room was filled with memories of the original Su Wenxun’s abuse.
When Su Wenxun hadn’t demanded to mark her during the day and even offered her a new room to rest in, Xu Xi hadn’t fully believed it.
The original Su Wenxun had once feigned understanding, claiming their marriage was too hasty and promising to respect her until she willingly consented.
That night, when “Su Wenxun” saw that Xu Xi had the audacity to not appear in the master bedroom, she immediately tore off her mask of false kindness. Grabbing Xu Xi by the hair, she slapped her hard and cursed her for being ungrateful. She even notified the Xu Group to cut off Wanwan’s medication for three days.
Su Wenxun’s behavior just now only reinforced Xu Xi’s belief that people don’t change overnight, unless their soul has been replaced.
Su Wenxun had already pulled her completely into her arms, yet she still expected Xu Xi to believe such hollow words.
It seemed Xu Xi hadn’t been proactive enough, and Su Wenxun was deliberately acting this way out of dissatisfaction. As long as Wanwan was safe, Xu Xi was willing to do anything.
Beneath the silk quilt, Xu Xi loosened her clenched fist, her expression remaining unchanged as she lowered her eyelids, completely concealing her scorn. When she looked up again, her eyes were dewy, the corners tinged with red, like a rose petal dampened by morning dew.
Her movements were languid and seductive, every glance and smile exuding allure.
“Don’t you want to kiss me?”
She reached out, caressing Su Wenxun’s cheek, the rose-like scent pressing close.
Their lips were about to touch when the Alpha abruptly pulled away, wrapping herself in the quilt and retreating to the other side of the room.
This blatant rejection would have humiliated any other Omega.
But Xu Xi felt only understanding. With her F-Tier pheromones, “Su Wenxun” simply couldn’t bring herself to find her appealing.
But in Su Wenxun’s eyes, a deep, carnal desire burned, her face flushed crimson from suppressed longing. In that moment, she experienced the absolute dominance of a permanent mark. Xu Xi had released only a tiny amount of pheromones, yet it instantly triggered a tidal wave of lust within her.
I love it! I love it so much it feels like a million fireworks are exploding in my mind!
She dared not touch Xu Xi again, yet her body’s instincts screamed for contact, even to cross the boundaries of propriety.
She wanted to kiss her fiercely, ravishing her lips until they gleamed, and even more, she yearned to press against her without any barriers between them.
The master bedroom remained silent for a long time, so long that Xu Xi thought Su Wenxun wouldn’t move again. But then she saw the blanket-wrapped figure slowly inch closer to the edge of the bed.
Su Wenxun’s voice, usually clear and bright, emerged from the blanket, now hoarse and muffled: “Wife, can I touch you?”
Does she still want to mark me?
“Su Wenxun” had once said that Xu Xi bore a three-tenths resemblance to her white moonlight.
Xu Xi thought bitterly:Â Thanks to that woman, Su Wenxun can actually tolerate my inferior F-Tier pheromones.
“Okay.”
But to her surprise, the blanket remained tightly wrapped, yet a pinky finger emerged, cautiously hooking around her own.
