I Transmigrated into a Scummy Alpha and Stole the Heroine from Her Tragic Romance ( LILY, ABO ) - Chapter 6
Yu Peirong’s mind went numb.
In this world, pheromone soothers were equivalent to adult products in the real world. They came in Alpha- and Omega-specific versions, with a variety of scents to choose from. Ever since their development, they had greatly relieved the suffering of Alphas and Omegas without long-term partners.
However, what she had released earlier wasn’t a soother at all. It was her own pheromone, subtly blended with a suppressant.
Before Qi Xiyao could press her with endless questions, Yu Peirong forced herself to maintain a look of authority. That expression alone was enough to make Qi Xiyao obediently leave the room.
Once the sweet scent of grapefruit tea finally faded from the air, Yu Peirong realized her back was completely soaked in sweat. In over twenty years of life, this was the first time she had ever felt such intense, unfiltered desire. It was as if the sensation could ignite her from the inside out.
After pouring the grapefruit tea down the drain, she called for her assistant. She drank three glasses of ice water in a row before she could cool the burning feeling inside her. It was the first time her assistant had seen her drink iced water so early in the day. Still, as a diligent employee, the assistant didn’t ask any questions and left after finishing her tasks.
Despite the distraction, Yu Peirong did not forget the important matter at hand. After the assistant left, she immediately asked the system, “Can I access the female lead’s memories now?”
“Yes,” the system replied.
Moments later, a series of images flashed before her eyes like a slideshow. Yu Peirong processed the information quickly and was able to piece together everything that had happened.
Although she and her half-brother Yu Shang shared the same father, they had both clearly inherited the man’s cruelty. It was rooted deep within them.
Starting with Yu Shang.
The original Yu Peirong had believed that Yu Shang was very fond of his so-called girlfriend. Qi Xiyao, as a relatively unknown actress, often entered Yu Shang’s office and stayed there for long periods. With an Alpha and an Omega alone in a room together, people naturally assumed certain things.
In reality, Yu Shang had indeed been interested in her at first. But when Qi Xiyao refused him, he chose not to force her. A forced bond would not benefit his reputation. He decided not to mark her.
Even so, he never treated her well.
The original Yu Peirong thought Qi Xiyao was in his office enjoying romantic moments. In truth, Qi Xiyao acted more like a servant. She brought him tea, ran errands, and did tasks that even a paid assistant would refuse. Qi Xiyao wasn’t paid at all. She was nothing more than free labor.
When Yu Shang was in a bad mood, he would scold her and mock her capabilities with sarcastic remarks.
On the surface, Yu Shang appeared gentle and indulgent toward her. Because of this, the original Yu Peirong treated Qi Xiyao just as poorly. Like her brother, she would mock Qi Xiyao’s lack of skill, claim her acting was terrible, and compare her unfavorably to trained performers. Even if she was given a well-written character, they believed she would ruin it.
To suppress her further, Yu Shang had secretly taken her resources and handed them over to less popular actresses. He even told her manager to reject incoming business offers. Over time, Qi Xiyao, who had once been confident, began to question her worth.
In short, the siblings had teamed up to emotionally manipulate a young girl.
The part about Yu Shang sabotaging her came from the system. Qi Xiyao had no idea this was happening.
After learning all of this, Yu Peirong remembered the frightened and uncertain expression Qi Xiyao had shown her earlier. She let out a long sigh.
Qi Xiyao was only twenty-two, still very young. Even someone older and more experienced could easily fall into despair when repeatedly suppressed by a superior, especially without knowing the truth.
And if all this had only been minor manipulation, what came next was far more dangerous. After receiving a phone call, Yu Peirong felt herself pulled into a deeper struggle.
The caller ID showed the name “Siyan.”
It took her a moment to recall that this was the same person who had called her the day she transmigrated. The same person responsible for sending Qi Xiyao to a hotel, where she had nearly been assaulted by multiple Alphas.
Last night, Yu Peirong had been too overwhelmed to deal with it. She hadn’t expected the woman to call again so soon.
“Hello?”
Yu Peirong picked up the call and placed the phone beside her as she looked over the many documents on her desk. Her slender fingers twirled a black pen in thought.
On the other end, Zhao Siyan spoke excitedly, completely unaware of anything that had happened.
“Hey, President Yu! Why did you hang up on me last night? Did your little Omega come back to you? I didn’t dare interrupt. So how was that slut Qi Xiyao? You know, some Omegas love pretending to be all innocent, but once they’re in bed, it’s a whole other story. I hooked up with one just the other night who had only recently differentiated…”
Yu Peirong remained calm. She signed and stamped a confirmed contract, her voice quiet and emotionless as she responded, “You called just to tell me about your one-night stands?”
There was a short silence, followed by an awkward laugh.
“Well, about the loan we talked about…”
“What high-interest loan?” Yu Peirong stopped what she was doing and capped her pen. “I drank too much last night. My head’s still fuzzy.”
Zhao Siyan sounded relieved.
“Didn’t Qi Xiyao’s family run into trouble? You said I could lend her some money at a high rate. I figured just pressuring her to repay it wouldn’t be enough, so I thought I’d get a few people involved. Isn’t she already desperate? She’ll probably agree to some nude-collateral deals…”
Yu Peirong’s expression changed.
This was getting out of hand.
Qi Xiyao’s family had issues? She was desperate?
In any world, unless you were a total nobody, most people in the entertainment industry wouldn’t fall into such a situation. When Yu Peirong had read the novel, most of it focused on the male and female leads and their complicated relationship. The pacing was slow and heavily favored the male lead. She had never understood why the heroine kept lowering herself to him. It had seemed like textbook emotional abuse, and the heroine came off as weak and pitiful.
Now she realized their relationship had never been mutual. It had been one-sided from the beginning. No matter how the author tried to dress it up as a possessive love story, the reality was that Yu Shang had forced himself onto her.
Yu Peirong stared blankly for a moment until Zhao Siyan’s cautious voice pulled her back to the present.
She had wanted to cut this woman off completely. But she sensed there were things she still didn’t know. She needed to understand everything clearly first. Changing her mind, she softened her tone slightly.
“We can talk about the loan later. It’s not urgent. Are you free in a couple of nights? Let’s meet at TK Bar. I’ll treat you.”
Zhao Siyan was thrilled.
“Thank you, President Yu. Should I invite Brother K and the others?”
Yu Peirong chuckled on the phone.
“What kind of dancing only involves two people? Invite whoever you want. I’ll bring someone too. Just don’t invite too many people. She’s shy. I don’t want to scare her.”
Young elites often held their gatherings at bars. TK Bar was one of Yu Peirong’s frequent spots. In her previous life, she had also visited bars, although she had never enjoyed the noise. Compared to loud clubs, she preferred quiet lounges where she could sip fruit tea and enjoy soft music.
When it came to fruit tea, after that day, Yu Peirong issued a direct order: grapefruit tea was no longer allowed in the company’s break room. Although the secretary didn’t understand the reason, she conveyed the message exactly as instructed. From then on, grapefruit tea completely disappeared.
It was on the third day after finishing her shoot that Qi Xiyao received word from Yu Peirong about attending a gathering that evening.
The scene itself had not been very demanding. With Yu Peirong’s timely emotional guidance, Qi Xiyao entered character quickly and finished it in one take. The director praised her nonstop.
However, travel time had taken its toll. Her assistant explained that they hadn’t been able to get business-class tickets, only economy. The filming location was far and transportation was inconvenient. Qi Xiyao endured a long flight followed by another transfer. The journey wore her out completely, but fortunately, she had the following day off to recover.
When she received Yu Peirong’s instructions, she didn’t question the purpose of the gathering. But when she heard they would be going to a bar, she hesitated for a moment.
“President Yu, it’s a bit dangerous for an Omega to go to a bar alone,” she said, gathering her courage to speak up.
It wasn’t that she held outdated or conservative beliefs. She didn’t think Omegas had to stay away from bars to protect their reputations. She simply felt that two Omegas going together was indeed risky. On that street, it was common to encounter unruly Alphas who, once drunk, would harass Omegas without hesitation—and sometimes worse.
Yu Peirong glanced at her and replied calmly, “Use your suppressant before we go. Bring a new injector with you as well. I’ll have both Alpha and Omega types with me. No one will dare mess with you.”
Qi Xiyao seemed as though she wanted to object again, but after glancing at the beauty mark beneath Yu Peirong’s brow, she lowered her eyes and remained quiet.
That night, as they walked into the street, Qi Xiyao clung tightly to the sleeve of Yu Peirong’s coat, following closely behind like a frightened deer.
Even in a bar located on some of the most expensive real estate in the city, beneath the dazzling lights, there were always shadows hiding things that shouldn’t be seen. They had only passed two or three venues when Yu Peirong already spotted people entangled with each other in the corners, completely unbothered by whether anyone might see them.
Qi Xiyao lowered her head even further and followed in silence.
“I need to use the restroom,” Yu Peirong said.
Prompted by the system’s reminder, she didn’t dare help too directly. Instead, she gave Qi Xiyao a quick instruction and pointed out a location as they entered. “Go on ahead. I’ll be there in a moment.”
“Alright,” Qi Xiyao responded softly.
As the door to the private room opened, Qi Xiyao looked up slightly to see who was inside. In that moment, her face turned pale, as if all the color had been drained away. She looked like a fragile piece of paper, ready to be blown over by the wind.
The Alpha who opened the door had a friendly smile at first, but the moment he saw Qi Xiyao, his expression changed. It was the kind of smile a predator gives when spotting prey, laced with suggestiveness and menace.
“Well, well. Looks like someone’s come knocking. Selling yourself now, Yaoyao?”
