I Tried to Become a Worthless Scumbag to Break Our Engagement for His Happiness, but Instead I Was Hugged, Kissed, and Sworn Eternal Love by the Ice Knight (BL) - CHAPTER 27
After lunch, when Heliosphere stood up to attend his afternoon class,
“Today, once my class is over, let’s go home.”
That was what he said to Fleck, who at the time was busy checking if there were any mistakes in the records, he had entered that day.
Fleck wanted to continue and add more entries, but Heliosphere had told him, “Today’s work ends with today’s share,” and didn’t even bring him the extra documents. Fleck thought to himself, Someday, I’ll sneak them in and keep working, as he finished the checking. The completed documents were tossed into the disposal box beside the desk.
After the second bell rang, Heliosphere returned.
By then, Fleck had finished checking, and he was just about to stand up, thinking he might doze off on the sofa for a bit. Hiding his guilty relief, Fleck quickly straightened his posture with a bright smile, as if to say, I’ve been waiting for you.
“Even the disposal is done. As expected of you, Fleck. Wonderful. Truly, thank you.”
Seeing the desk neat and clean with all the work finished, Heliosphere smiled and praised him warmly.
Back in the Eastern Division, people barely had time to say “Good work!” to their subordinates. So being properly praised like this made Fleck squirm in embarrassment, his face hot.
While Fleck fidgeted, Heliosphere brought over a new pile of documents, the same amount as what had been processed today, and placed them on the desk.
“This is for tomorrow. The first-class tomorrow is practical training. I’m sorry, but I’ll have to leave right after arriving here. So, this is tomorrow’s work.”
“Yes.”
“…Now then, forgive me, Fleck. There’s an urgent report I must write. Please wait a little.”
“I understand.”
It must truly have been urgent, because Heliosphere, who was always graceful, now sat down carelessly on the chair and pulled out a record board from the drawer. Even in a rush, his writing was elegant. Fleck stole glances at him while reaching for tomorrow’s pile of documents.
“I said that is for tomorrow.”
“Just a little…”
“Fleck.”
“…Yees, sir.”
Even without looking up from the record board, Heliosphere had caught him. Realizing he was exposed, Fleck gave up, spending his free time instead observing Heliosphere. And what a fine sight it was—those handsome, refined features were enough to make Fleck want to dedicate all his time to him. His imagination spun wildly about how he could possibly do that.
The visit came suddenly.
“Hello, Rio. I came to see you.”
It was a voice as sweet as sugar candy. A very beautiful girl stood there.
Her hair was silver threads, and her eyes shone like rainbows. Fleck recognized her. She was the saint he had seen in his dreams.
But the gentle, modest air she had in the dream was gone. She looked exactly like the stories said—an awful, spoiled girl. Fleck’s mouth hung open in shock.
“Cynthia Natalier. How many times must I tell you not to enter without permission?”
Heliosphere’s voice was like ice.
Even though Fleck had a mantle draped over his lap, the coldness of that tone made him shiver as if frozen. What a… what a cold reaction.
But no, it was the proper response.
