I Tried to Become a Worthless Scumbag to Break Our Engagement for His Happiness, but Instead I Was Hugged, Kissed, and Sworn Eternal Love by the Ice Knight (BL) - CHAPTER 40
When most of the orders were finally placed, it was time to take Fleck’s measurements.
For some reason, however, Heliosphere insisted on staying to watch. Fleck protested at once, saying, “I can manage something like this on my own!”
But Heliosphere told him, “You probably can’t keep standing straight the whole time.”
“Oh… I have to stand straight for this?”
With that, Fleck accidentally revealed he had completely forgotten what a fitting even involved.
The tailor, who was in charge of him, smiled and said,
“Lord Torino, I’ve just discovered one more of your charms!”
“I’m glad to hear it,” Heliosphere replied, as if he and the tailor had reached some mutual understanding.
Fleck, on the other hand, could make no sense of it at all.
“Does it feel comfortable?”
“Uh, yes… it does, but—”
After safely finishing the measurements, Fleck was now trying on summer clothes he would soon need.
Even so, he could no longer hold back his doubt.
Normally, he should. Normally, he ought to just stay quiet and let it pass.
But the tailor, who was kneeling politely on the floor to adjust the hem, spoke to him in a friendly, relaxed tone.
“What troubles you, sir?”
The ease in his voice told Fleck that he understood—it was his way of making things easier for him.
So Fleck voiced his doubt.
“I think… these kinds of clothes would suit Lord Rocca better than me.”
He looked down at what he was wearing: a light gray short-sleeved shirt, paired with white trousers of a fabric faintly tinted with blue, soft and airy. The design was overall a little loose. On Fleck, it felt… somehow, not quite right.
If anything, this style would suit Heliosphere better—with his tall build and long legs.
Fleck had no confidence in fashion. That was why he was trying on the clothes Heliosphere had chosen for him. Every single one was bright in color. There was consistency in the choices, yes, but Fleck had no confidence that they suited him at all.
Still, he truly believed these bright colors—especially white and pale blue—would look far better on Heliosphere. Better than dark shades. Yes, especially better than black. That much, Fleck could declare with pride.
“…I must agree with you,” the tailor said.
“Right?! Exactly!” Fleck leaned forward in excitement. “Why does he always wear black in his private clothes anyway?”
If Heliosphere insisted on wearing black, Fleck at least wanted him to choose something a bit brighter.
“…It seems Lord Rocca simply refuses to wear anything other than black…” the tailor answered carefully.
“What? Really? But he would look so much better wearing colors that match his hair and eyes!”
Fleck himself had no energy to chase after fashion trends. Even after returning to the capital, he had no intention of bothering with such things.
But Heliosphere was different. He was a knight. Not just any knight, but a magic knight bearing the noble name of Lord Rocca.
For someone like Heliosphere to ignore fashion trends seemed wrong. And more than that, Fleck knew—no matter the trend, no matter the color—Heliosphere would suit all of them perfectly.
