I Was a Royal Palace Knight, But I Turned Out to Be an Omega, So I Had to Resign (BL) - Chapter 36
“Haah~! I’m exhausted!”
Already changed out of my formal outfit, I flopped face-first onto the bed. The soft mattress cushioned my weight, its fluffiness wrapping around my whole body.
Ah, beds really are the best. I’d been tense all day.
“Cyril…”
Leon’s amused voice came from behind me. I turned around to see him looking at me with a mix of exasperation and fondness.
When I hurriedly sat up, Leon actually laughed out loud—a rare thing for him. He’d also changed out of his lavish outfit into something more casual, but even dressed down, he still carried himself with perfect posture. We were wearing similar clothes, but for some reason, he looked far more refined than I ever could.
“It’s fine. Go ahead and rest. You’ve had an especially long day.”
Letting myself relax under his gentle words, I threw myself back onto the bed. It really had been a long day—an all-out, no-rehearsal royal wedding. Even someone like me, who’s pretty confident in their stamina, was completely drained from the nerves alone.
A royal wedding was way more extravagant than I’d imagined. Adrian gave me a basic rundown beforehand, but there was no way I could remember every step of the ceremony. I was so nervous during the vow recital that I stumbled over the words, and I even mixed up left and right during the ring exchange. When it came time for the formal royal greeting, I didn’t even know which direction to bow, so I had to rely on Leon’s whispered guidance beside me.
Far from perfect—but I decided it would still be a good memory.
“…Cyril. I’m really sorry. For how sudden everything was.”
Leon’s sudden apology caught me off guard, and I shook my head. He must’ve thought I looked completely wiped out.
“It’s okay. Adrian already explained things to me. Because I broke off my engagement once, I’m not allowed to be engaged again, right? So it had to be straight to the wedding. I get it—it couldn’t be helped.”
“Yes, that’s part of it. But…”
Leon’s voice dropped. He slowly walked toward me.
“The truth is, I rushed the ceremony for selfish reasons.”
“Selfish reasons?”
He gently cupped my cheek with one hand.
“I didn’t want to risk losing you. The moment I took my eyes off you, I feared someone else might come and take you away.”
“Wha—Whaaa!?”
I let out a dumb-sounding noise without meaning to.
My eyes went wide. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. Calm and collected Leon, who rarely shows emotion unless absolutely necessary, was afraid of losing me?
“I mean… isn’t that giving me way too much credit? I’m just a male Omega. Only someone with a really unique taste would even look twice at me.”
I laughed a little at myself, but Leon remained completely serious.
“Then I must be someone with a really unique taste.”
That made me burst out laughing. This stiff, serious prince just cracked a joke?
While I was laughing, Leon somehow slipped his arm around my waist. On the bed, the space between us grew smaller, and my heart started racing.
“Wait—Leon!”
“What is it?”
“Just now… were you serious? You were really afraid someone might take me away?”
“Of course.”
He nodded without hesitation.
“You don’t see it, but you’re incredibly charming.”
His voice was quiet, but I could feel the depth of his emotion in every word.
“You’re more amazing than you think. You’re straightforward, cheerful, and treat everyone equally. That’s what drew me to you. That’s why I fell in love with you. And that’s why—I never want to let you go.”
The usual composed prince was gone. Beneath that dignified exterior was a man full of raw emotion and vulnerability. I’d never seen this side of him when he was a knight. His honesty struck a chord deep in my heart.
“…Leon.”
Words felt unnecessary. Our lips met naturally.
His lips were soft, and the feeling made my whole body flush with warmth. One hand stroked my hair, the other gently caressed my back. I wrapped my arms around his shoulders and returned his kiss.
We kissed again. And again. Each one deeper than the last. Leon’s tongue slipped between my lips, and we shared a heated breath.
“Haa…”
When the kiss finally broke, I tried to catch my breath, but Leon didn’t let go. When I looked up, his eyes had a different look—calm on the surface, but burning with unmistakable desire underneath.
That’s when it hit me.
Today was our wedding day. And now… it was our wedding night.
“Uh—Um! Don’t we still have the reception and all those other events tomorrow? We probably shouldn’t stay up too late…”
I babbled, flustered. It wasn’t that I hadn’t mentally prepared for this, but now that the moment was here, I couldn’t help being nervous.
“Are you scared?”
Leon asked gently. The care in his voice made my heart ache.
“I’m not scared. Just…”
Just unsure. My life was about to change in a huge way.
“I want you. I want to make you truly mine.”
Just hearing that made my body react. Maybe it was my Omega instincts, but Leon’s Alpha scent felt stronger, and something inside me answered that call, heat welling up from deep within.
My heartbeat pounded, and my head spun—not unpleasantly, but in a way that made me feel wanted. Desired. I wanted to belong to him. To be his.
“…Leon.”
I took a deep breath and made up my mind.
“I want to be yours too.”
I could hear the tremble in my voice, but I looked straight into his eyes as I continued.
“Make me your Omega. Yours and yours alone.”
The moment I said that, something shifted in Leon’s expression. His pupils dilated, and he looked at me like a predator who’d just locked onto his prey. His strong arms pulled me close and pinned me down onto the bed.
He loomed over me, holding me tightly so I couldn’t escape. Then, he buried his face in my neck—and bit down hard.
“Ah—!”
A sharp pain shot through me like I was being pierced. I gasped—but it was quickly replaced by a strange, tingling sensation that spread throughout my body.
It started at the back of my neck, spreading through my veins, reaching every corner of my being. It felt like my body was being transformed—reshaped from the inside out by something powerful, but not unpleasant.
A mix of dull pain and joy washed over me, and my mind started to drift. When Leon finally pulled his teeth from my neck, he gently licked the bite mark.
“…Now, you’re completely mine.”
His voice was filled with satisfaction and pride.
“So… this means we’re bonded now, right?”
I couldn’t hide the happiness in my voice as I asked. I didn’t feel drastically different, but somewhere deep in my heart, I could sense the powerful bond between us.
“That’s right.”
Leon smiled and embraced me. I felt an overwhelming sense of peace in his arms.
“You’re now my mate—mine alone.”
There was deep emotion in his words. His eyes held nothing but me, full of tenderness and overwhelming love.
He leaned in again and kissed me. A soft yet passionate kiss—different from the ones before. A kiss that confirmed we were now truly mates.
