I Was Told 'No One Would Miss You,' So I Became the Empress of Another Country - Episode 11
With Logan’s help, I began to regain some of my position in the court.
However, there were those who didn’t find this amusing.
Leon and Flora were the main ones.
One day, my maid rushed into my room, looking pale.
“It’s terrible… Someone sneaked into the place where the dresses were kept and poured bright red dye on them!”
I was told that several dresses I had planned to wear at public events, such as meetings, had been horribly ruined.
It was a malicious and disgusting act of harassment.
What’s worse, a figure resembling one of Leon’s close aides had been seen near the scene, which was infuriating.
Additionally, Lydia told me that rumors were once again spreading that I planned to betray the kingdom by flattering the Empire.
It was clear that either Leon or Flora, or both, had orchestrated it.
They were doing everything they could to damage my reputation.
“That’s awful. This has really gone too far,” Lydia said, her lips tightly pressed together, showing her anger.
I felt the same way.
Anger was swirling inside me, but if I reacted emotionally now, it would play right into their hands.
“For now, we have no choice but to endure. If we make strange counterarguments, it will likely be seen as ‘panicking,'” Lydia added.
Despite her words, the fact that my maids were suffering weighed heavily on me.
This wasn’t just slander; it couldn’t be overlooked.
I couldn’t sit back and watch as those around me were hurt, but right now, we lacked solid evidence.
I also consulted my father, but he remained cautious.
“If you respond to their provocation, they’ll use it to paint you as the villain. Leon is the crown prince. I don’t think Flora will easily show her hand either. It’s better to endure and win the support of others,” he advised.
“Yes… I understand.”
My father quietly watched me as I tried to hold back my frustration.
If I confronted them using the Duke’s authority, things could escalate into a public dispute.
Perhaps that was exactly what they were aiming for, and that made it hard for me to act.
However, surprisingly, this situation started to gather sympathy for me.
When the story about my dresses being ruined and the harassment of my maids spread, people around the court started murmuring, “This is just too much.”
Even the gossip-loving noblewomen began to frown at Leon and Flora’s overbearing behavior.
“To degrade your former fiancée this much, it’s really disgraceful,” I overheard more and more frequently.
Ironically, this seemed to make Leon and Flora anxious.
They might soon come up with their next move…
My concerns were confirmed when I spoke with Logan.
After a banquet, I managed to find a moment to talk to him.
“I heard that the harassment against you continues. It may be a time to endure, but…” Logan spoke calmly, narrowing his eyes slightly.
His golden-tinted eyes seemed to be full of concern for me.
“It’s wise not to retaliate recklessly. But I think there will be a time when you must stand up to them openly,” he said.
“Stand up openly…?” I asked.
“Yes. No matter how much power they wield, if you act in the right way, people will support you. You just need to prove that,” he explained.
His words made my heart feel a little lighter.
I had thought his advice might be similar to my father’s, but Logan was suggesting I look for the right moment to fight back. That might be another way to approach it.
Instead of suppressing everything, if I could act in a way that the public could accept…
“I understand. If they make another move, I won’t stay silent,” I said.
Logan quietly smiled.
His gaze felt like he was saying, “You’ll be fine.”
I didn’t know what Leon and Flora would do next.
But I wasn’t alone anymore.
My father, Lydia, and the Emperor were strong supporters who had my back.
Even in this situation, I would keep fighting, without giving up, and facing them head-on.
That was the only thing I needed to remember.
