I, Who Was Criticized as the World's Weakest S-Rank Explorer, Am Actually the World's Strongest Explorer - Episode 75
Episode 75
Once some media outlets begin reporting on something, even large media companies can’t completely avoid covering it. If they choose not to report, it could leave an impression that they are influenced by pressure from the Association or the government. Which could lead to future disadvantages. They would likely consider this before deciding whether or not to report on it.
…Then there’s the government.
I’ve been doing a lot of research recently, and it seems that no one in the current administration opposes the Association’s methods.
They’ve been working in close quarters, with a comfortable, mutual understanding…… In fact, there are even cases where members of the ruling party have been appointed to high positions in the Association.
It’s true that the opposition party criticizes them, but their seats are still limited. And they don’t have much say in the matter.
………Kiryu-san. If I remember correctly, he has connections with politicians, right?
I’ve seen articles where he’s in photos and having discussions with politicians. Was one of them the Prime Minister? In any case, it’s clear that unless the current system is overturned, there’s not much that can be done.
Whether from the ruling party or opposition, someone needs to dismantle the Association and restructure it with more competent individuals in charge.
…Considering the activities in Japan, Kiryu-san’s cooperation is essential.
…Anyway, it comes down to Kiryu-san.
Kiryu-san has been involved with the media for a long time. He must have solid connections with local TV stations.
Additionally, he’s been involved in a lot of streaming. So his presence online is also substantial.
I’ve heard rumors about collaborations with popular channels. He likely has many influencers who would be willing to cooperate with him.
If I need to ask for help, Kiryu-san would be the best choice. Besides, if anything happens, he can defend himself…
(Note: Here’s the last dialogue from C74 (previous chapter) since it connects to here:
“Yeah, Kiryu-san has connections. He had appeared on various programs, even at local TV stations. If we tell them that streamers will begin releasing exposé videos on a specific date, media outlets looking to boost ratings will likely take interest and start covering the story.”)
“I see.”
“For now, Yuna, contact as many people as you can and check if there are others who agree with such reforms. If you need anything, just let me know.”
“Leave it to me. For now, Rin, can you tell me about any messages you received from the Association? And if you’ve accomplished any of their requests, please?”
When Yuna said this, Rin opened her mouth in a somewhat startled manner.
Then, she looked down, seeming apologetic.
“…But, I mostly handled things over the phone. We only exchanged messages about once every three days.”
…I see, that explains it.
Indeed, Rin’s messages only contained reports of her “dungeon explorations” with no further details.
It looks like she was mainly contacted via phone, and occasionally exchanged messages.
This isn’t unusual. Each dungeon has a name, after all. So when the Explorer Association asks her to “explore Tokyo Dungeon 8”, it’s easy to find the map and proceed.
“……….It seems they were thorough on their side as well. Alright, Rin. From now on, make sure to keep a record of everything when negotiating. So that they can’t deny it later.”
“…Understood.”
That’s something I need to keep in mind as well. If it’s only verbal, it could easily be dismissed as if it never happened……
“Haruto… do you have any good ideas?”
Yuna’s gaze turned to me.
Good ideas, huh.
“…The Association should have records of which dungeons have been explored and by whom.”
“Then, if we ask Kirishima-san, there’s a possibility that we can get the information, right?”
“Yes. Let’s ask Kirishima-san about that.”
“Right. And then there’s Kiryu……… Can we ask him, and will he listen right away?”
I think that’s fine.
“If I ask him about repaying the favor from before, I’m sure he’ll help. Plus, it’s the perfect timing for him to return to his exploration activities.”
…I’ve thought of a few things to negotiate with Kiryu-san.
First, he could restore his tarnished reputation.
Given his ideals, he couldn’t stay complacent in his current position.
“Well… if it’s possible, I guess I’ll leave it to you. But if he says anything strange, you know what to do.”
This little sister of mine is way too dangerous.
I looked to Rin for help, and she nodded in agreement. It was as if she understood the situation.
The women here are terrifying.
…Alright, I’ll contact Kiryu-san first.
Also, I want to talk to someone from WEA, just to be safe.
Since I don’t have any connections there, I planned to check with Kiryu-san about that.
For now, it’s all about reaching out to Kiryu-san.
