As the quiet of the night enveloped the house, I sat with my smartphone. I was absently staring at the screen. Although the preparations for tomorrow’s dungeon exploration were all set… I felt a little excited.

Looking out the window, the cold moonlight quietly illuminated the dim room. I took a deep breath, trying to calm my mind for tomorrow.

We gathered in Saotome-san’s room, having breakfast together. On the table were simple sandwiches that Yuna had prepared. The savory smell of the bread gently filled the room. It warmed the cold air.

Rin had been staying in the room since yesterday. She was nervously eating her sandwich.

It seemed that Rin and Saotome-san had spent the night together. And I was a bit curious about what the two of them had talked about.

“Kamino Town Dungeon… a dungeon where magic stone holders pop up like crazy.”

“Yeah. But, I think if it’s Rin, she’ll be fine if she stays calm.”

“…Even so, I’m nervous… On dungeon exploration days, it’s always like this.”

Today wasn’t a day to conquer a dungeon. But for Rin, it probably felt the same.

Rin muttered in a quiet voice and stared at her sandwich. She was looking a bit down.

Capturing a dungeon, huh? I’ve never actually conquered a dungeon before, but isn’t it something you never really get used to, no matter how many times you do it?

She offered me her half-eaten sandwich.

The sight of her eating like that was almost like a small animal, which was kind of cute.

………It felt like I was feeding her. But if I said that out loud, Rin might get mad. So I kept the thought to myself.

Meanwhile, Saotome-san was sitting beside me. She was enthusiastically eating her sandwich while fiddling with her tablet.

Her eyes sparkled, unable to hide her excitement for the investigation that was about to start.

“Kamino Town Dungeon is really deep… Even based on the data we got from the last investigation, it’s clear that the rank of the monsters appearing is higher… I saw on Kiryu’s stream that there are many plants and other things as well… Ah! I can’t wait!”

She was so excited that it seemed like she might forget to eat while working on her tablet.

Well, I guess it’s a good thing she’s having fun. I squinted and called out to her.
