I Woke Up And Found Myself Married - Chapter 10
“Do you know what you’re saying?”
Yu Wei crushed the milk carton in her hand and tossed it coolly into the trash. She walked up to Ji Fuyi, leaned in, and stared down at her.
Her gaze… was dangerous.
Ji Fuyi instinctively shook her head, then nodded.
Yu Wei chuckled lowly, reaching out to pinch her chin.
“So which is it—do you know, or not?”
Ji Fuyi’s body instantly softened. She mumbled, “I do…”
Her voice was soft and sweet.
Yu Wei nodded in satisfaction and gave her a light peck on the lips. “Then why are you saying nonsense?”
“I’m not…”
“Oh?”
Yu Wei raised an intrigued brow, rubbing her lips against Ji Fuyi’s as she asked, “Are you serious?”
Ji Fuyi couldn’t answer.
She really had thought about it—just for a moment. No logic, no reason, just a pure, impulsive thought. She’d ignored the danger hidden behind it, simply because… she wanted to.
Ji Fuyi bit her lip in silence. Yu Wei was in no rush. She gently brushed her lips against Ji Fuyi’s again and again, her gaze fixed intently on her.
Moments ago, Ji Fuyi still had some reason left, joking and teasing Yu Wei. But under Yu Wei’s teasing kisses, that familiar heat crept back—slow and electric—crawling up from her legs, wrapping around her back.
“Mm…” Ji Fuyi let out a soft gasp. “Not… not really.”
Yu Wei’s eyes darkened further. Her lips pressed into a firm line, an unreadable danger flickering in her gaze.
Without another word, she pushed Ji Fuyi back down onto the sofa for the second time that day—and kissed her.
…
“Fuyi? Fuyi? Are you listening?”
Lin Xia’s concerned voice came through the headset, snapping Ji Fuyi out of her daze.
After Yu Wei left, Ji Fuyi had called Lin Xia over video to say she wouldn’t be going into work and asked her to attend the meeting in her place.
Now, as Lin Xia reported the meeting details, Ji Fuyi’s mind kept drifting—back to Yu Wei, to those dizzying, intoxicating kisses.
…This can’t keep happening. At least not during work.
She nodded to indicate she was listening and signaled for Lin Xia to continue.
“There wasn’t much in today’s meeting—just the regular check-in. But the big boss joined in to observe. I told him you weren’t attending due to feeling unwell, and he asked me to send his regards. He also wanted to know if you needed a private doctor, the company could arrange it.”
“It’s nothing serious,” Ji Fuyi replied.
She didn’t explain the real reason. She didn’t want the company to know she was already entering her pre-heat.
“What’s our main focus lately?” she asked.
“The current priority is still centered on you. Mainly coordinating the reshoots for Cloud Mountain. The promotional period is just around the corner, and the company’s shifting resources your way.”
“Have the materials been finalized?”
“Partly. Three magazine shoots are confirmed, the rest are still in talks with the production team.”
Lin Xia glanced at the screen again. Ji Fuyi, even through the camera, appeared more dazzling than usual. Yet today, she seemed slightly worn out—maybe because she wasn’t wearing makeup? But her eyes and brows held a delicate allure that couldn’t be hidden.
As a Beta, Lin Xia couldn’t pick up on the subtleties of pheromones from this distance.
She paused for a second, and Ji Fuyi’s thoughts drifted again—to Yu Wei’s every move and smile. She shook her head. She felt like she was under some sort of spell.
…
Meanwhile, in the graffiti art zone on the outskirts of B City, Yu Wei was scouting exhibition venues with Yan Shu and Xu Sihan.
The sun was harsh. Yu Wei fanned herself with a round fan, stepping into the car’s shade with a sigh of relief. All she hoped now was that the next location would be the one.
“Where on earth did you even find these places?” Yan Shu muttered while checking the map. “I’ve never heard of half of them.”
“Seems like Weiwei did her homework,” Xu Sihan chimed in.
“I thought you just sat around planning our next food trip,” Yan Shu teased, cranking the AC. “Didn’t expect this level of productivity.”
“What else did you expect?”
Yu Wei started the car and turned on the radio. Classical music filled the space, lifting her mood.
“If I stay home any longer, my dad’s going to kick me out.”
“Isn’t that what you’ve been hoping for?” Yan Shu laughed. “So when’s the move? We’ll throw you a housewarming.”
“Next week,” Yu Wei considered. “I’ll cook. You’re all welcome.”
“You cook now?” Yan Shu raised a brow. “Guess studying abroad wasn’t a total waste.”
“I didn’t go to culinary school…” Yu Wei groaned.
While chatting, they arrived at the next venue. As Yu Wei parked the car and stepped out, a staff member approached.
“Miss Yu? Welcome to 679 Art Factory. First time here?”
Yu Wei nodded and followed him inside. The first thing she saw was an open space beneath a high, cross-braced dome, supported by thick columns. Empty, quiet, and full of potential.
“Our venues are usually rented annually. A property management team will handle everything—you focus on your art, we handle the rest,” the staff said enthusiastically, handing over a brochure. “This type of partnership is very in-demand. What do you think?”
“Very convenient,” Yu Wei said simply, eyes scanning from floor to ceiling.
“Would we be allowed to make renovations?” she asked.
The staff paused. He hadn’t even finished his sales pitch.
Curious, he glanced at Yu Wei—tall, striking, dressed in a black shirt with sleeves rolled up, lean muscle subtly defined under the fabric. A textbook Alpha.
Yu Wei returned the look—a glance that, though casual, carried a clear warning.
“Of course,” he quickly responded. “Modifications within reason are absolutely allowed. That’s one of our key advantages—freedom that big exhibition halls can’t offer…”
“Alright. Good enough,” Yu Wei said.
She exchanged a look with Yan Shu and Xu Sihan. They both nodded.
“Let’s sign.”
The staff blinked. Already?
Yu Wei moved fast. Within two hours, she had viewed the space, negotiated terms, and signed the contract.
Now that the venue was secured, a huge weight lifted off her shoulders. With a space to work with, her ideas were no longer just dreams.
She’d already contacted many old friends—artists who, after years of growth, were now respected names. All that remained was her own solo show.
Yan Shu clapped her on the back. “You really are decisive. Impressive.”
“Stop teasing,” Yu Wei said, climbing back into the car. “Thanks for coming today. I’ll treat you guys to dinner sometime.”
“Oh? Not today?” Yan Shu smirked. “Got plans?”
“No. Don’t be ridiculous.”
“Well, if you’re free,” Xu Sihan said suddenly, “why not today? Let’s celebrate securing the venue.”
She spoke softly, but clearly.
Only after she finished did she start to worry—was she being too forward? Yu Wei had already said “next time.” Would pushing it make her seem too eager?
But…
Yu Wei’s confidence earlier had made her heart flutter. Even as a Beta who couldn’t smell pheromones, she’d been totally captivated.
This was the closest she could get to alone time. With just Yan Shu around, it almost counted as “just the two of them.”
Would Yu Wei agree?
Yu Wei, focused on driving, hadn’t noticed any of this.
“Hm, not today,” she replied. “Got some things to take care of.”
She hadn’t noticed Xu Sihan’s reaction. Her mind was stuck on one thing—thanks to Yan Shu’s teasing.
No plans… but maybe I should make one.
What was Ji Fuyi doing now? No way she went to set in that state.
When Yu Wei left, Ji Fuyi was waving her off—yet her whole body was still limp on the sofa, flushed and content.
Just remembering her like that made Yu Wei’s mouth go dry.
Ji Fuyi today was… absolutely delicious.
…
Yu Wei waited until she’d dropped the other two off, then called Ji Fuyi.
Ji Fuyi had just wrapped up her video call and was enjoying a rare break—sprawled on the couch, flipping through TV channels, surrounded by snacks.
“Weiwei?”
Her voice was soft, unconsciously tender.
“Fuyi.”
Just those two syllables from Yu Wei made Ji Fuyi’s heart skip.
This little brat… her voice was sweet and gentle like an innocent little honey cake. But Ji Fuyi knew better.
The images from the morning came flooding back—Yu Wei’s pheromones erupting at her words, the overwhelming scent of mint filling the room, making her go limp.
Yu Wei had kissed her like she wanted to devour her—trailing from her neck to her stomach, leaving marks everywhere, each one a testament to her desire to possess.
Pressing Ji Fuyi down beneath her, Yu Wei had growled against her neck, teeth hovering dangerously close to her gland as she whispered:
“If you tease me again… I’ll mark you.”
