I Woke Up And Found Myself Married - Chapter 11
The morning scene spun around in Ji Fuyi’s mind, making her cheeks flush as her breathing quickened slightly.
It was so late already—why was Yu Wei calling her now?
In the span of a few seconds, countless thoughts ran through her mind, considering all kinds of possibilities.
That morning, Yu Wei had arrived very early, originally intending to take her out for her favorite spicy tofu dish. But the moment she stepped through the door, she was immediately drawn in by Ji Fuyi.
After a bout of intimate entanglement, it was nearly noon.
Ji Fuyi lay on the sofa with no strength left, lazily refusing to get up. Yu Wei kissed her ear, thought for a moment, and said, “Let’s not go out to eat today. How about I make you some eggs benedict?”
Ji Fuyi nodded and watched as Yu Wei walked into the kitchen, opened the fridge, and let out a surprised cry, “Wow, your fridge is so well stocked!”
That was thanks to her assistant who regularly replenished it. But feeling a bit smug, Ji Fuyi decided not to say anything—she’d let Yu Wei keep that charming misconception.
A moment later, Yu Wei brought out two beautifully plated eggs benedict: maple toast topped with slices of ham and a soft-boiled egg, its glossy yolk just barely set, sprinkled with white pepper and shredded cheese—mouthwatering to say the least.
Ji Fuyi took a bite and was genuinely surprised. It was actually delicious. She praised her, “I didn’t expect you to cook… It’s really good.”
“Hehe, had to learn to survive abroad,” Yu Wei scratched her head, embarrassed by the compliment. “Next time, I’ll take you to try something really good!”
She smiled brightly, like the gentle sunlight streaming through the window, dazzling Ji Fuyi for a moment.
Ji Fuyi felt something strange stir in her chest. Unable to keep looking at Yu Wei, she quickly lowered her head and focused on the egg in front of her.
As soon as her knife touched the egg, golden yolk flowed out, wrapping around the white pepper and cheese—a rich and spicy explosion in her mouth.
“Was life abroad tough?” Ji Fuyi asked softly.
Yu Wei had only just graduated, and her family was newly wealthy. She clearly wasn’t someone passionate about culinary arts. The only reason she’d be good at cooking was if she’d gone through some rough times.
“Not at all. I had enough to eat and spend. It wasn’t tough.”
Yu Wei could hear the concern in her voice and quickly dismissed it. She hadn’t felt she’d suffered—except maybe during the first few weeks when she was still juggling part-time jobs and coursework. Overall, she thought her life overseas was quite decent.
“Oh?” Ji Fuyi raised an eyebrow. “Then how did you learn to cook?”
“Uh…” Yu Wei blinked and decided to tell the truth. “Actually… I only know how to make lazy breakfasts. I hate getting up in the morning.”
That was only half the truth. The real reason she was often running late was partly due to assignments—and partly because sometimes, she’d wake up in someone else’s bed, making a quick breakfast before heading off.
Ji Fuyi saw her blinking and knew Yu Wei definitely hadn’t told the full story.
But she didn’t press. She simply pushed away the twinge of discomfort and teased, “A lazy breakfast that tastes this good?”
“Learned it from part-time jobs!” Yu Wei grinned and squinted like a cat seeking praise. “If you like it, I’ll make it for you again next time!”
“Sure.”
Ji Fuyi lazily replied as she finished the last bite of egg on her plate.
“You worked part-time too?”
“Just at first,” Yu Wei answered without hesitation. “My family only recently got rich, so yeah.”
So that’s the story—turns out Yu Wei was quite grounded.
After their meal, Yu Wei wrapped her arms around Ji Fuyi from behind, resting her chin on her shoulder and nuzzling her ear. She sighed, “I really don’t want to leave…”
Ji Fuyi glanced at her and asked, “Going somewhere?”
She had assumed Yu Wei had nothing planned today—that breakfast was just a pretense and she’d stay and laze around all day.
“I have a work meeting later,” Yu Wei replied apologetically, nuzzling into her neck. “I need to leave soon.”
So it was for work. That little flicker of disappointment inside Ji Fuyi quickly faded. “Okay then. Just come next time.”
Yu Wei immediately nodded like crazy, planting several kisses on her face. “But promise you’ll let me in, okay? Don’t lock me out next time!”
Ji Fuyi couldn’t help but laugh. “Go on already, or you’ll be late.”
Thinking about how reluctant she had been to leave this morning… Ji Fuyi figured she must be looking for an excuse to come over again.
But it was so late now. If she came over, something was bound to happen again—and besides…
Ji Fuyi remembered her own teasing remark from earlier, and Yu Wei’s dangerously intense look. In that moment, Yu Wei had really wanted to mark her, hadn’t she?
Normally, Yu Wei was so sweet and soft-spoken that it made her seem like nothing more than a little kid. But what happened today made Ji Fuyi realize with startling clarity—Yu Wei was an Alpha. One look from her could make her legs go weak.
And when that “little kid” got aggressive, she was so fierce that Ji Fuyi lost all control—left breathless and trembling, unable to do anything but whimper.
Her cheeks burned. If Yu Wei really did want to mark her… all she could do was take it. There would be no resisting.
But even if it was just a temporary mark… would she regret it later?
No. She couldn’t let Yu Wei come over tonight.
Ji Fuyi steeled herself and cleared her throat. “It’s getting late. Don’t come over tonight, okay?”
There was a low chuckle on the other end of the line. Yu Wei’s voice held a teasing lilt: “Does that mean you wanted me to come over?”
Ji Fuyi’s face turned even redder. That question made it sound like she’d invited her, when in fact she was trying to avoid her. She didn’t want anything unexpected to happen.
Covering her warm cheeks with her hand, Ji Fuyi said, “I didn’t ask you to come.”
“Oh~ So I was being overly hopeful,” Yu Wei’s mood clearly brightened, her voice almost cheerful. “But I didn’t even say anything, and you already knew I wanted to come?”
Ji Fuyi: “…”
Why was this woman suddenly acting like a cunning little fox, impossible to guard against?
Yu Wei paused when Ji Fuyi didn’t reply. “Hmm?”
That low hum had a faintly suggestive undertone, sending a shiver through Ji Fuyi.
She took a deep breath, forcing herself to stay calm. After a pause, she said, “Who cares what you want? Why did you call me?”
“You’re so cold,” Yu Wei replied with a playful tone. “You weren’t like this this morning.”
Ji Fuyi sighed. Yu Wei had evolved—now she knew how to flirt back, even with a bit of swagger.
Trying to keep her cool, she said, “If you’re not gonna say it, I’m hanging up.”
“No, no, don’t!” Yu Wei hurried to explain her purpose, worried Ji Fuyi would really hang up. “I just wanted to ask—have you had dinner?”
Ji Fuyi glanced at the snacks on the table and guiltily said, “Yeah.”
“You did?” Yu Wei clearly didn’t buy it. “You mean snacks, right?”
She hadn’t forgotten those boxes of junk food under Ji Fuyi’s coffee table.
Ji Fuyi said nothing.
Yu Wei sighed. “You’re not being a good girl, you know.”
Ji Fuyi bit her lip. Yu Wei usually only said that in certain situations. Hearing it now… made her blush.
She shook her head, pushing those thoughts out of her mind, and said seriously, “I really did eat.”
Yu Wei didn’t believe her for a second. “I’ll come pick you up.”
Ji Fuyi: “What for?”
“To take you out to dinner, of course,” Yu Wei said matter-of-factly.
Ji Fuyi: “???”
This was starting to feel like a very strange development. Who drives over late at night to take a hookup out for food?
But ten minutes later, Yu Wei was knocking at her door. Ji Fuyi reluctantly opened it, then flopped back onto the sofa like a lazy cat.
“Don’t feel like going out?” Yu Wei sat beside her and handed her a paper bag.
Ji Fuyi opened it and found the dessert she had raved about that morning.
Nibbling a cream puff, she muttered, “It’s not like I really don’t want to go out… mm, it’s just changing clothes that’s annoying. Where are we going?”
Yu Wei suppressed a laugh. She says she doesn’t want to go—but then asks what they’re eating? Too cute.
“Hotpot!” Yu Wei said enthusiastically. “Nighttime is hotpot time!”
Then, as if remembering something, she asked, “Can you handle spicy food?”
“Hm?” Ji Fuyi was holding a pillow, trying to figure out what to wear for hotpot. Caught off guard, she thought for a second and replied, “Yeah, the drama’s wrapped—no worries now.”
Yu Wei nodded—good, nothing to worry about. It would’ve been a shame to eat hotpot without spice.
Since they’d settled on going out, Ji Fuyi stood and went to her room to change.
Yu Wei thought she’d take a while—but she came out quickly.
She hadn’t put on makeup, just a touch of lipstick to brighten her complexion. Her blonde hair was pulled up in a high ponytail, colorful earrings dangling by her ears. She wore a black T-shirt and low-rise jeans, with a sliver of pale, slender waist peeking between the two. Her legs were long and straight, and she slipped on a pair of black heels as she walked up to Yu Wei.
Yu Wei had seen her all dressed up before, but this casual look was somehow even more stunning.
Especially that elegant swan-like neck when she bent down… that pale patch of skin had driven Yu Wei mad more times than she could count.
She knew exactly how it tasted—had kissed it countless times.
“Shall we go?” Ji Fuyi didn’t notice Yu Wei’s dazed look. After changing shoes, she looked up—and her gaze met Yu Wei’s smoldering eyes, so intense it made her heart flutter.
Yu Wei leaned against the door, arms crossed, eyes fixed on her.
That look… Ji Fuyi knew it too well.
Whenever Yu Wei looked at her like that, it always ended in a flurry of kisses and flushed, gasping breaths.
“Weiwei…” Ji Fuyi broke the silence, calling her name softly.
“Mm?”
Yu Wei licked her lips, her gaze drifting down to her waist. Slowly, she leaned in closer…
