I Woke Up And Found Myself Married - Chapter 14
“Hmm?”
Yu Wei paused her movement, lowered her head to look at Ji Fuyi, blowing softly against her ear with a mischievous smile.
“I didn’t quite hear that.”
The scent of mint in the air grew stronger, surrounding Ji Fuyi.
Every time Yu Wei appeared, she brought that fresh, cool scent with her—like green leaves in the summer sun, casting a shade of relief in the scorching heat. Though the fragrance was cool, Ji Fuyi only felt hotter and hotter.
The heat rose like waves, surging over her again and again.
Ji Fuyi looked at Yu Wei. In her gaze, she saw something dangerous—something that had always been sugar-coated by Yu Wei’s sweet voice, but now it was all laid bare.
She wasn’t used to being looked at like this.
Suppressing her uneven breathing, Ji Fuyi met her gaze, narrowed her eyes, and smiled.
“I said…”
Her fingers slid up Yu Wei’s shirt, slowly undoing a button.
“Don’t stop.”
The motion was like a matchstick, instantly igniting the sparks in the air. The temperature surged. Yu Wei’s throat felt dry, her breath tangled.
They were so close—their fingers entwined. When Yu Wei lowered her head, she could see Ji Fuyi’s thick lashes and deep brown eyes. There seemed to be a layer of mist in them, making it hard to read her thoughts.
Ji Fuyi wore only a shirt, with the top button undone. Her expression remained composed, but Yu Wei could see the tenderness being tightly restrained underneath.
Yu Wei recalled many moments—rare, fleeting moments they had shared.
When she first met Ji Fuyi, she had looked at her with these same eyes—calm, but hiding a deep sea within.
Beneath the moonlight and under the mistletoe, Ji Fuyi had lightly hooked her pinky with hers. The motion had been slow and gentle, carrying a kind of casual flirtation that made the heart race.
Yu Wei remembered how she had lowered her head slightly, raised her eyes, and said in a voice more intoxicating than wine:
“This tree… it’s mistletoe.”
Yu Wei’s heart skipped a beat—and she kissed her.
That was their first kiss.
In the quiet of many nights, Yu Wei often remembered the taste of that kiss—the entangling sweetness of lips and teeth, and the cold yet sweet pheromones that made her lose herself.
It should’ve been just another kiss.
But why? Why did it feel so different? She couldn’t figure it out, so she stopped trying. As long as Ji Fuyi didn’t push her away, her selfishness must’ve been something Ji Fuyi allowed.
And Ji Fuyi had indeed indulged her many times.
Ji Fuyi would appear in the most unexpected places. It felt like whenever Yu Wei longed for her to appear, she really would.
She always wore a calm expression, acted unfamiliar in front of others, but would secretly hook her pinky whenever Yu Wei reached out—like a little prank only they knew about.
During a group dinner, across the table, Ji Fuyi would raise an eyebrow and smile, like she could see through Yu Wei’s every thought.
And she had let all those little things happen.
What started as little indulgences… what had they become now?
Yu Wei lowered her head and kissed her cheek. Ji Fuyi seemed slightly uncomfortable, her skin damp with a fine sheen of sweat. She gasped lightly, and the scent of her pheromones was now so strong that even suppressants couldn’t cover it.
“You’re hot.”
“…Mm.” Ji Fuyi bit her lip. “I took a lot of suppressants earlier.”
Her sweet watermelon scent became increasingly intense, teasing Yu Wei. She knew what was happening. The heat that had been forcefully suppressed was now rebounding—several times stronger.
Yu Wei didn’t need a mirror to know her eyes were tinged red.
Right now, Ji Fuyi was too enticing.
Her collar revealed a delicate collarbone, and Yu Wei’s hand was still pressed against her skirt. Her breathing grew heavier. She leaned down and nuzzled Ji Fuyi’s neck gently, not moving further, yet the air around them was thick with tension.
Their pheromones slowly twisted together—tender, tangled, inseparable.
“…What you said earlier,” Yu Wei’s voice was hoarse, “Did you mean it?”
Though Ji Fuyi kept her calm expression, her mind was already a mess.
The intense heat had turned her body to something like soft cotton—weak and pliant.
Only the minty coolness brought her comfort. She instinctively wanted more of it.
Clinging to the last shred of rationality, Ji Fuyi spoke in a soft, alluring voice:
“I meant it.”
“You know what will happen, right?”
Yu Wei brushed her hair aside, exposing her pale neck where a hint of sweet scent lingered.
“I know.”
Ji Fuyi wrapped her arms around Yu Wei’s waist and whispered:
“Mark me.”
Yu Wei no longer hesitated. Her canines sank into the Omega’s gland, and her pheromones surged into Ji Fuyi’s bloodstream, flowing into her heart.
…
When Yu Wei woke up, Ji Fuyi was still asleep in her arms.
She smelled entirely of Yu Wei—the cool mint and sweet watermelon mixed together, making her even more intoxicating.
Yu Wei buried her face in Ji Fuyi’s neck, nuzzled gently, and carefully lifted her golden hair to see the bite mark on her neck.
A temporary mark.
It was real. She wasn’t dreaming.
Yu Wei couldn’t help but hug her tighter, a smile tugging at her lips.
Even if it was just temporary—she had marked her!
Yu Wei grinned with delight. Until the mark faded, Ji Fuyi would smell like her.
Suppressants? That horrible mugwort scent? Ugh!
Who even invented that terrible stuff—and why did Ji Fuyi like it so much?
Just as Yu Wei was basking in joy, Ji Fuyi stirred and asked, “What time is it?”
Her voice still carried the after-effects of being marked—soft and lazy, making her even more adorable. Yu Wei couldn’t help but kiss her cheek.
“What are you doing?”
Now Ji Fuyi was truly awake, frowning at her.
Fully conscious now, she began to sense something was off.
That uncomfortable feeling that had lingered inside her for days was gone—replaced by a strange freshness… and a bit of longing for Yu Wei?
Startled, Ji Fuyi instinctively touched her neck.
Sure enough, there was a mark.
Her gaze drifted down… yep, neither of them had clothes on.
Ji Fuyi wrapped the blanket around herself and sat up, muttering:
“That drink wasn’t even strong…”
“Regret it?” Yu Wei leaned on her side and asked.
Ji Fuyi froze. Last night’s memory slowly returned. Yes, she had been the one to say it—Mark me.
“No.”
She shook her head, patting Yu Wei’s back casually.
“Just… a reasonable loss of control.”
Yu Wei laughed heartily, carefree. “It’s okay. It’ll fade on its own.”
So it was still “loss of control,” huh? She pouted inwardly, feeling a bit disappointed.
“You want it to fade?”
Ji Fuyi tilted her head, her tone carrying a teasing smile.
“No no no!! I didn’t mean that!”
Yu Wei panicked immediately. Usually Ji Fuyi wouldn’t even ask this kind of question. Was that… a sign she cared?
“It’s just—you looked like you weren’t happy about the mark, so I was trying to comfort you, saying it’ll go away, so you wouldn’t worry…”
She fumbled over her words. Ji Fuyi’s lips curled higher and higher.
“I don’t mind.”
Ji Fuyi touched the back of her neck and added:
“It’s… kind of nice.”
“Right?!” Yu Wei instantly agreed. “You won’t even need to use suppressants now, super convenient. And if you like it, I can give you another one when this fades…”
“Another one?” Ji Fuyi raised a brow, amused.
“Uhh… I-I didn’t mean it that way…” Yu Wei’s face turned red.
“So just the one, then?” Ji Fuyi teased her further.
“No no no!! I obviously want there to be more! I just don’t know what you think!”
Yu Wei felt herself spiraling.
Just then, her phone rang. She looked at the screen and her headache got worse.
Two glaring characters stared back: Dad.
Uh-oh. Time to get scolded.
Yu Wei answered, holding the phone slightly away from her ear in anticipation of the yelling.
“STAYING OUT ALL NIGHT!!!!!! YU WEI WHERE THE HELL DID YOU GO!!!!!! I SWEAR YOU’RE ASKING FOR IT!!!!!!”
Clearly, Ji Fuyi heard it too. She chuckled softly beside her.
Yu Wei waited for the shouting to subside before bringing the phone closer and replied, “I was out singing karaoke with classmates last night. Lost track of time.”
“KARAOKE? ALL NIGHT?! WHAT ARE YOU, A POP STAR?!!!!!”
Father Yu roared with full force:
“YOU’RE NEVER HOME! NO SENSE OF RESPONSIBILITY! SKIPPING OUT ON THE COMPANY AND IGNORING YOUR FIANCÉE—WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU EVEN DOING!!”
Fiancée.
Those three words hit like a thunderclap. Yu Wei sobered up instantly. She instinctively glanced at Ji Fuyi.
Ji Fuyi was already looking out the window—expression unreadable, like she hadn’t heard anything, didn’t care at all.
The phone call felt endless. Every time Father Yu said fiancée, it was like a knife stabbing Ji Fuyi’s heart. The bite mark on her neck throbbed faintly.
Yu Wei knew—she definitely heard it.
“Dad, I know, I know. I’ll come back soon. I’ve got the project plans in front of me. Don’t worry.”
She quickly explained and ended the call.
Yu Wei turned to Ji Fuyi anxiously. Ji Fuyi was still staring out the window in silence.
Yu Wei nudged her shoulder and asked:
“Fuyi?”
Ji Fuyi’s thoughts were tangled. Yu Wei… had a fiancée? Then why did she treat her like this?
Without looking at Yu Wei, she softly asked:
“…Fiancée?”
