I Woke Up And Found Myself Married - Chapter 32
Hospital.
When Yu Wei and Ji Fuyi pushed open the consultation room door, the doctor looked quite surprised.
Wasn’t today their wedding day? On her desk, there were still wedding candies and strawberries the couple had sent over. She hadn’t even finished the treats, and yet here they were?
“Miss Ji, what brings you here?”
The doctor put on her glasses and took the medical file from Yu Wei’s hands, spreading it open on the desk. She asked,
“Isn’t it your wedding today?”
“Yes,” Yu Wei smiled at her, “Thank you for your concern.”
“Oh, I couldn’t forget even if I wanted to, the wedding candy you sent is still right here,” the doctor chuckled warmly. “So, what’s wrong?”
She glanced over at Ji Fuyi, who was seated on the sofa. Ji Fuyi had removed the heavy bridal makeup and now appeared quite pale and worn out.
The doctor knew Ji Fuyi was a celebrity, always well-maintained. She had never seen her look this unwell before and immediately grew concerned.
“Well, it’s like this…”
Yu Wei took a deep breath and said quietly, “She was pushed.”
“When did it happen? How hard? Did she fall to the ground?”
The doctor fired off a series of questions, quickly tore off a check-up form, and began checking off several options.
“It just happened…” Yu Wei hesitated, then admitted the truth, “During the wedding, while walking down the aisle, someone pushed her. It probably wasn’t very hard—she fell onto me. But she said it hurt a lot at the time. It gradually got better.”
The doctor’s expression sharpened.
Pushed during the wedding aisle walk?
A bride being pushed on the aisle—unless it was by the person escorting her.
The doctor lowered her head and wrote some notes on the form, inwardly thinking: wealthy families really are full of drama. She’d heard Ji Fuyi was not only a big star, but also the daughter of the Ji Corporation. But her parents were divorced and not on good terms. Now something like this happened—it really was tragic.
She handed the form to Yu Wei. “Let’s do a full check-up first.”
The checklist was extensive. Yu Wei accompanied Ji Fuyi to the exam floor. Before she entered the examination room, Yu Wei gently held her hand and pulled her into an embrace.
“It’s going to be okay,” Yu Wei whispered in her ear. “I’ll be waiting right outside.”
Ji Fuyi entered the exam room, handed the sheet to the doctor inside, and followed every instruction.
She was a little distracted. Before entering the room, the hug from Yu Wei seemed to awaken something deeply buried within her.
Looking at the doctor’s serious face, Ji Fuyi suddenly realized she was actually very afraid of hospitals—and of being ill.
When she was little and got sick, her mother never comforted her like other moms—no hugs, no kisses, no warm porridge or medicine. Instead, her mother would get angry and scold her for getting sick.
At the time, Ji Fuyi didn’t understand. Was it her fault for getting sick?
Gradually, even when she was unwell, she stopped telling her mom. She would go to the hospital alone. When she was still underage, she’d sit alone in the waiting area, staring at the white walls, filled with fear—afraid of being diagnosed with something she couldn’t handle.
Eventually, she forgot that fear.
Maybe it was a kind of self-protection. Ji Fuyi buried the pain, buried the fear.
But just now, when Yu Wei hugged her at the door and said everything would be okay—
She suddenly remembered that, a long time ago, she really wanted a hug like that.
The doctor handed her the sheet and said, “You can go upstairs now for the results.”
Holding the form, Ji Fuyi walked out of the room. In those brief seconds, she only had one thought:
I hope Yu Wei hugs me again.
And in fact, that’s exactly what she did.
As soon as she stepped out, she saw Yu Wei pacing anxiously in the hallway, staring at a health poster on the wall.
When Yu Wei saw her, she immediately rushed over. “How are you feeling? Anywhere uncomfortable?”
Ji Fuyi didn’t say anything. She just threw her arms around her.
Yu Wei normally loved cuddling Ji Fuyi, but today, with Ji Fuyi suddenly hugging her like this, she was caught off guard.
Yu Wei froze, unsure what to do with her hands and feet.
She felt herself go stiff from her neck to her spine. Her hands hovered at Ji Fuyi’s waist, not daring to hold too tightly in case it hurt her.
Ji Fuyi murmured, “Don’t move. Let me hold you.”
Yu Wei didn’t move.
She stood there, her mind racing.
What’s going on? Why did she come out of a check-up like this? Is something wrong?
But the results were supposed to be picked up upstairs…
Or maybe the check-up itself was upsetting?
At that moment, Yu Wei didn’t even think about the baby. She just wanted to know if Ji Fuyi was okay.
She gently stroked Ji Fuyi’s back, hoping it might make her feel a little better.
Ji Fuyi was breathing heavily, her warm breath seeping through Yu Wei’s clothes and into her chest, making Yu Wei even more anxious—and scared.
Please let nothing be wrong…
Neither spoke. The silence hung heavy in the air.
Yu Wei, tormented by the silence, could only keep gently patting Ji Fuyi’s back.
She wasn’t sure if she was comforting Ji Fuyi, or comforting herself.
After a long moment, Ji Fuyi calmed a bit and lifted her head slightly to look at her.
Yu Wei forced a bright expression, hiding her worry. “What’s wrong?”
Ji Fuyi shook her head gently. “The results are upstairs.”
She released her arms and turned her head to quietly blink away the tears, then smiled. “I just remembered some things. I’m fine. Let’s go.”
Her eyes were slightly red at the corners, and Yu Wei’s heart ached.
She didn’t ask any more. If Ji Fuyi wanted to talk, she’d listen then. Pressing her wouldn’t help.
Inside the consultation room, the doctor was already waiting.
Yu Wei asked right away, “Doctor, are the results ready?”
The doctor, holding a stack of reports, looked serious—with a hint of hesitation.
Yu Wei’s heart clenched at that expression.
“There doesn’t appear to be a problem… at least for now.”
The doctor pulled out one report and laid it in front of her. Yu Wei read over the values—they seemed within normal range.
“However…”
The doctor turned to Ji Fuyi, eyes full of concern.
“Earlier you mentioned not wanting to keep the child, but because your health was unstable, we’ve been monitoring things, correct?”
Ji Fuyi nodded. “Yes.”
She really hadn’t wanted the child before, but… maybe it was okay now.
At first, it was the shock of an unplanned pregnancy and the fear of career impact. But now she was married to Yu Wei, and Yu Yiyi had agreed to speak with the company for her—those concerns were gone.
Late at night, Ji Fuyi had thought it over.
She was afraid—afraid she couldn’t give the child a good life—but she didn’t truly hate this child.
The doctor said cautiously:
“Because of this recent incident, we recommend you rest for a while. Wait until both you and the baby stabilize before making any decisions.”
“Terminating a pregnancy is very hard on the body. And in your condition… I’m afraid you can’t take that risk.”
Ji Fuyi nodded. If it was truly that her body couldn’t endure it, then keeping the child wasn’t a simple matter of acceptance—it would require serious thought.
A child is a living being. They shouldn’t come into this world just because you couldn’t prevent it.
If you can’t love them, don’t give birth to them.
Ji Fuyi knew that truth deeply.
“Alright… I’ll think about it seriously.”
She unconsciously laid a hand over her belly. For a moment, she felt… connected to the child.
“We actually work with a convalescence hospital on Summer Island,” the doctor said. “The environment there is perfect for recovery. Blue skies, white clouds, palm trees… The wards are five-star hotel standard. The scenery’s beautiful.”
She took out a brochure and placed it in front of them with a smile.
“If your current environment is noisy or stressful, we highly recommend a trip to Summer Island. The ocean there is as blue as the sky, and in good weather you can even go sailing.”
Yu Wei quickly nodded and put away the brochure.
“Summer Island also has excellent medical facilities. You won’t need to worry about emergencies.”
The doctor winked playfully at them. “Even if it’s not for rest, it’s a great honeymoon destination.”
Yu Wei’s eyes lit up instantly.
Honeymoon!
Why hadn’t she thought of that?
She’d been racking her brain trying to figure out how to sneak away with Ji Fuyi for recovery.
But a honeymoon? No one would question that!
Newlyweds going on a honeymoon—who would stop them?
Yu Wei gratefully thanked the doctor. “Thank you! We’ll seriously consider it.”
After leaving the hospital, Ji Fuyi sat in the passenger seat and asked, “Really want to go on a honeymoon?”
“Not exactly, it’s mainly to let you rest,” Yu Wei said while driving with a grin. “If we say it’s our honeymoon, no one will get in our way.”
Ji Fuyi nodded slightly. “That’s good. Summer Island really is perfect for a honeymoon.”
Blue skies, white clouds, grass skirts—a classic destination for years.
She glanced over at Yu Wei. From the hospital until now, Yu Wei hadn’t said a single word about the baby.
Even when the doctor mentioned she hadn’t wanted the child, Yu Wei didn’t react.
What is she really thinking?
Does she not want the baby either?
Suddenly, Ji Fuyi felt a little upset.
She wanted to talk to Yu Wei about it—but didn’t know how to start.
Still, even if they go to Summer Island for a “honeymoon,” the child would still be there inside her. The topic had to come up.
Is Yu Wei really just thinking about convalescence?
Ji Fuyi sighed internally. No matter what Yu Wei thinks, whether we keep the baby or not, I have to treat it seriously.
Later, on the living room sofa, Ji Fuyi hugged a pillow and glanced at Yu Wei, who was still reading the brochure.
Trying to sound casual, she asked:
“Weiwei… What do you think about the baby?”
