I Woke Up And Found Myself Married - Chapter 46
Just waking up, Ji Fuyi’s voice was soft and sweet. Hearing her like that, Yu Wei felt her heart melt completely.
She hugged Ji Fuyi tightly, wanting to pull her even closer, but worried it might make her uncomfortable. She wanted to kiss her, but felt a bit nervous.
“Why are you looking at me like that?”
Ji Fuyi buried her head in Yu Wei’s arms, lazily lying there for a while before slowly waking up.
As soon as she opened her eyes, she found Yu Wei staring at her with a strange expression.
Being asked that, Yu Wei felt a little embarrassed. Her gaze shifted to the ceiling, which only made her look guiltier.
Ji Fuyi followed her gaze—there was nothing there.
“What’s wrong?” she asked.
“Uh, nothing really,” Yu Wei replied, not daring to meet her eyes. “I just wanted to kiss you.”
“Then keep wanting,” Ji Fuyi said after staring at her for a few seconds.
Then she lifted the covers, got out of bed, and went straight to wash up.
Yu Wei’s arms were suddenly empty. She sat alone on the bed, feeling like the whole space had gone cold. The warmth in the blankets faded quickly, and a little sense of grievance rose in her heart.
She had been so gentle just now. Why did she turn cold as soon as she woke up?
When Yu Wei finished getting dressed and walked into the living room, Ji Fuyi was already waiting.
The moment she saw Ji Fuyi, Yu Wei’s eyes lit up.
Today, Ji Fuyi wore a tropical-style shirt with a long white skirt, looking fresh and beautiful. A straw hat rested on her knees, sunglasses shaded her eyes, and her golden hair and red lips were stunning.
“Stunned?” Ji Fuyi teased as she saw Yu Wei staring, giving her head a light tap. “Let’s go eat.”
“Okay, okay, let’s go eat. Are you hungry?”
Yu Wei grabbed her hand. That small grievance she had felt just moments before vanished the moment she saw Ji Fuyi.
As they walked, Yu Wei chatted happily:
“What do you want for breakfast today? I checked yesterday—this hotel’s breakfast is a buffet. They have everything. I’ll get it for you.”
“Alright,” Ji Fuyi nodded, glancing at Yu Wei in the elevator. “I want that plain noodle soup you had yesterday.”
“No problem, I’ll get it for you,” Yu Wei said confidently.
Seeing Ji Fuyi standing beside her, she couldn’t help but ask again, “Why did you ignore me just now?”
“When?”
Ji Fuyi thought for a moment and realized Yu Wei must be referring to this morning when she had just woken up. So she asked, “When I got up?”
Yu Wei nodded, cheeks puffed out in a little sulk.
“Oh, that.” Ji Fuyi turned her head slightly and looked away, saying calmly, “What I meant was, don’t overthink it. Just kiss me.”
The elevator doors opened. Yu Wei froze, the words replaying in her mind. She forgot to step out.
Ji Fuyi walked a few steps and noticed Yu Wei wasn’t following. She stopped and asked, “What’s wrong?”
When Yu Wei caught up, she smiled without saying anything, then grabbed Ji Fuyi’s hand and kissed her on the cheek.
Caught off guard, Ji Fuyi turned to look at her.
“You said it yourself—don’t think too much, just kiss,” Yu Wei said innocently.
Ji Fuyi didn’t respond, only gave her a look and walked straight into the buffet area.
They chose a window seat and then went off to get food separately.
The plain noodle soup steamed gently. The thin noodles soaked in milky broth were topped with a handful of vibrant green scallions—mouthwatering.
“Didn’t expect to eat plain noodles on Summer Island,” Yu Wei said, enjoying the sea view outside the window. “It’s delicious.”
“If you want toast with peanut butter, it’s over there,” Ji Fuyi said, unsure whether Yu Wei liked the noodles or not. “You don’t have to eat plain noodles just because of me.”
“Who wants dry and tasteless toast?” Yu Wei said excitedly as she ate. “Plain noodles are way more satisfying.”
Then she looked at the ocean view again with delight.
Blue skies, white clouds, coconut trees, and waves lapping the white sand. Tourists lounged in sun chairs, and many were collecting seashells with small buckets.
“When I was studying abroad, I had to eat weird food three times a day. I was so sick of it,” Yu Wei added some pickled vegetables to her noodles. “Back then, I kept thinking how great it would be to have a bowl of plain noodle soup.”
“But didn’t you know how to cook?” Ji Fuyi asked.
“It’s not the same!” Yu Wei responded righteously. “Eating noodles someone else made is an elegant experience. Eating noodles you made yourself—that’s called struggle.”
Ji Fuyi laughed and said, “That’s pretty funny.”
“Of course! Everything I say is interesting. After breakfast, let’s go to the beach—take pictures, go for a walk, pick up some shells.”
Yu Wei chatted as she ate, clearly in a great mood.
“The weather’s perfect today—not too hot and plenty of sunshine. You can sunbathe too, if you want.”
Her voice lifted slightly at the end, and she spoke with a smile, radiating happiness.
Looking at Yu Wei’s smile, Ji Fuyi’s mood brightened too. She glanced at the sun outside, then back at Yu Wei, and felt that her smile shone even brighter than the sunlight.
After breakfast, Yu Wei suddenly pulled out a small bucket and, full of enthusiasm, dragged Ji Fuyi to the beach to collect seashells.
Watching Yu Wei’s back, Ji Fuyi felt she really was a lovable person.
At their age, life was full of complications. Many people lost their innocence. To be able to pick up seashells so carefree like Yu Wei—it was rare and precious.
Ji Fuyi followed behind as Yu Wei expertly found a spot on the sand, got staff to open a parasol and set up lounge chairs, brought over chilled watermelon, and sat down.
“Aren’t we collecting seashells?” Ji Fuyi asked.
“Yes,” Yu Wei gestured for her to lie down on the lounge chair, “but we need to put on sunscreen first.”
“I already put some on before we left,” Ji Fuyi said, confused.
“You did? But you need it on your body too. Otherwise, you’ll get sunburned easily at the beach. Come on, lie down, I’ll put it on for you.”
Yu Wei’s voice was high and excited.
The beach was a private area owned by the hotel. As VIPs, they had it to themselves—there wasn’t another soul in sight.
Yu Wei’s favorite part, applying sunscreen on the beach, was about to begin.
As she was enjoying the thought, Ji Fuyi lay back confused and said, “But I’m wearing a shirt—it won’t get sunburned.”
Huh?
No sunburn?
Yu Wei looked at Ji Fuyi’s outfit again. She was wearing a light silk shirt with sleeves covering half her arms, and a long white skirt that reached her ankles—completely covered.
“Really covered up,” Yu Wei said in disappointment, lowering her head. “I thought I’d get to help apply sunscreen.”
“Of course. Sunburns are annoying and hard to heal, especially for work,” Ji Fuyi lay comfortably on the chair. “You like putting sunscreen on people?”
Huh? Yu Wei immediately shook her head. That was clearly a trap question.
“Then why did you suddenly want to help?” Ji Fuyi asked, still puzzled. “I have a lot of skincare steps. I’m used to doing it myself.”
“I just wanted to help you,” Yu Wei lay down beside her. “You can’t reach your back. It’s easier if I help.”
“Well, that’s true,” Ji Fuyi nodded thoughtfully. “Help me tomorrow then. By the way, you’re wearing a backless outfit—I’ll help you today.”
Yu Wei watched Ji Fuyi take the sunscreen from her and gesture for her to lie down.
She really had no way to refuse.
Yu Wei obediently turned over and felt Ji Fuyi’s fingers move aside the thin straps on her back.
Her fingers touched her spine—cool, soft sunscreen spreading gently across her skin. Yu Wei shivered.
Under the blazing sun, she felt Ji Fuyi’s fingers were hotter than the sunlight.
Even the slightest touch made her spine tingle—an indescribable sensation.
The familiar heat from their time on the plane seemed to return.
Yu Wei’s breathing grew shallow. She suddenly remembered—she’d forgotten to use her suppressant that morning.
The air was filled with Ji Fuyi’s sweet scent, the smell of sunscreen, and a hint of mint. It made Yu Wei feel dizzy.
“Fuyi…”
Yu Wei covered her eyes with her hand and whispered her name.
“What’s wrong?”
Ji Fuyi was still seriously applying sunscreen, her fingers brushing over Yu Wei’s lower back.
Yu Wei suddenly shot up from the lounge chair, snatched the sunscreen from her, her face a little red.
“I’m not done yet. Lie back down,” Ji Fuyi said.
“No, no, I don’t like people putting sunscreen on me!” Yu Wei pouted and clung to the bottle. “Let me go, I’ll do it myself! I’ll pick seashells for you later!”
“You’ll get sunburned like this,” Ji Fuyi said helplessly, catching her waist and smoothly taking the bottle back, rubbing sunscreen on her spine and lower back.
“No, no! Don’t touch me!” Yu Wei tried to escape, but Ji Fuyi held her tighter.
Ji Fuyi leaned her body against Yu Wei’s back, fingertips circling her waist, her fair neck close to Yu Wei’s eyes.
It was especially tempting.
“You were just saying you wanted to put sunscreen on me—now I can’t touch you?”
Her hand slid down Yu Wei’s waist as she said lightly, “Is there anywhere I haven’t touched?”
Yu Wei trembled slightly, hugged Ji Fuyi tightly, and with her canines resting against the mark on Ji Fuyi’s neck, she said in a hoarse voice:
“Fuyi… do you even know what you’re doing?”
