I Woke Up And Found Myself Married - Chapter 48
Ji Fuyi’s lips only brushed against hers for a moment before pulling away.
It took Yu Wei a long time to react. She lingered on the taste, her mind full of the expression Ji Fuyi had when she kissed her.
Yu Wei touched her own lips and broke into a silly smile.
Ji Fuyi rolled her eyes and said disdainfully, “Why are you smiling like that?”
“Nothing~ I’m just happy. Can’t I smile if I’m happy? My wife kissed me,” Yu Wei said smugly, leaning in close to Ji Fuyi and tapping her cheek. “Wanna give me another one? I don’t mind—you can kiss me wherever you want.”
Ji Fuyi pushed her face away and looked out at the sea. Blue waves lapped at the shore in layers. She cupped her coconut and focused on sipping the juice.
Yu Wei didn’t get the kiss, but she was still grinning like a fool. She reached into the small bucket beside her, picked out a shell from the middle, and held it up to Ji Fuyi.
“A gift for you.”
“Aren’t they all mine?” Ji Fuyi tilted her chin up a bit arrogantly.
“If you want to have all these shells, you’ll have to wait until we go back. But this one—you can have it right now.”
Yu Wei blinked and said it very seriously.
Ji Fuyi reached out, took it, and slipped it into her pocket—still muttering, “I don’t want it.”
“Why not? Just keep it,” Yu Wei smiled sweetly. “It’s not like I’ve given you anything before.”
“You have,” Ji Fuyi raised her hand. “Isn’t this one?”
Her eyes landed on the ring. The pink diamond on her finger glimmered with a captivating shine.
Yu Wei saw her gesture and smiled brightly. She lowered her head and looked at the matching ring on her own hand, then sighed emotionally.
“Jiejie is so gentle.”
Under the summer sun, the waves kept crashing onto the beach, the white foam swirling up sand and leaving behind damp traces.
The air was full of the scent of vegetation, mingling with the sweet fragrance on Ji Fuyi’s body, creating a calming, reassuring atmosphere.
Yu Wei lay on the sun lounger, took a deep, contented breath, and felt as if she had stolen a moment of peace and joy from a busy life.
After resting for a while, the two stood up again and walked toward the beach.
Ji Fuyi wore sandals and stood at the shore. The seawater, warmed by the sun, gently brushed over her feet—it felt inexplicably refreshing.
She turned her head just as Yu Wei clicked the shutter.
“This one’s so pretty!” Yu Wei ran over with the phone. “Look! Isn’t it beautiful?”
“It is. I didn’t know Weiwei was so good at taking photos,” Ji Fuyi took her phone and sent the picture to herself.
“Of course! I studied art, you know. At least I’ve got the basics down,” Yu Wei said modestly, not mentioning her impressive résumé. “Plus, you’re gorgeous.”
“I’m really not. I look very average,” Ji Fuyi said, tying her loose hair into a ponytail under the strong sunlight. “We came here to walk, and you’re just taking pictures of me?”
“You looked so good, I couldn’t help myself.”
Yu Wei said honestly. Then she shoved the phone into Ji Fuyi’s hand.
“You can take some of me too if you want.”
“Sure.”
Ji Fuyi took the phone and, with practiced ease, guided Yu Wei into a natural and flattering pose, then pressed the shutter.
“Take a look.”
“It’s beautiful! How did you take such a good photo of me?!”
Yu Wei gasped at the screen and showered her with praise.
In the photo, she stood by the sea. The wind lifted her hair. Sunlight bathed her face, making her look refreshing and radiant.
“You get better at it the more you do it,” Ji Fuyi explained calmly. “I take photos for my coworkers a lot.”
Yu Wei nodded—after all, Ji Fuyi was a celebrity. Of course she took pictures for other celebrities.
And their photo standards were obviously much higher than hers. Yu Wei tucked the phone away, feeling very pleased. From the look of their photos, anyone could tell they were a couple.
Her little thought was written all over her face, and Ji Fuyi only had to glance at her to curl her lips into a smile.
Yu Wei’s personality—wearing her heart on her sleeve—was really kind of adorable.
That afternoon, they had a great time at the beach. This time, Ji Fuyi didn’t just watch Yu Wei picking shells—she joined her, occasionally squatting down to toss a few shells into the bucket too.
Yu Wei earnestly dug with her small shovel and asked nonchalantly:
“Didn’t you say I was childish?”
“Mhm,” Ji Fuyi actually nodded seriously. “A grown woman, and still obsessed with picking shells. So childish.”
Yu Wei got mad. She thought Ji Fuyi had started to enjoy collecting shells too, but it turned out Ji Fuyi was just sticking around to admire her childish behavior up close.
“So why are you picking them with me then?!”
“Because I still want to do it with you.”
Ji Fuyi nodded again, sincerely.
“Because your childishness is cute.”
Yu Wei fell silent.
She kept her head down, pretending to dig for shells, but really—her face was flushing red.
Ji Fuyi saw her ears turning pink and couldn’t help but chuckle softly.
“So easily flustered.”
Yu Wei nearly threw her shovel. She scooped up a few shells, grabbed her little bucket, and huffed:
“Who’s flustered?!”
They laughed and joked around for a while, picking shells, until the sun began to set into the sea. Then they both stopped.
Ji Fuyi stared at the sunset painting the ocean red. Along the endless horizon, the sun slowly retracted its light and sank into the waves.
A thought floated into her heart—
If she could watch the sunset like this every day, with this person beside her, that would be wonderful.
That night, lying in bed, Yu Wei still felt a little dizzy.
She could hear the sound of running water from the bathroom. She glanced toward it—the hotel’s bathroom was designed with frosted glass. From the outside, you could only see a blurred silhouette.
Yu Wei wanted to look but didn’t dare. Just a glimpse, and the seductive curves etched into her memory danced vividly before her.
She grabbed a pillow and rolled across the bed.
She had just sprayed herself with a heavy dose of suppressant in the bathroom, but just looking at that blurry figure again sent a strange heat rising inside her.
The water stopped. Ji Fuyi came out wrapped in a bath towel, drying her wet hair.
The moment Yu Wei looked at her, she jumped off the bed and dashed into the bathroom.
Thank god there were more suppressants in Ji Fuyi’s room. She tore one open and sprayed a wild amount on her neck before she felt her heartbeat slow down.
Just now, when Ji Fuyi walked out of the bathroom—that moment—Yu Wei felt like little flames had ignited all over her body, burning her to the core.
Ji Fuyi was wrapped in a towel, her wet hair dripping, water trailing down her neck and collarbone…
Yu Wei took a deep breath and told herself not to think any further.
She still remembered what she had said to Ji Fuyi when they were cuddling in bed.
“Just hugging. No funny business.”
When she came out of the bathroom again, Ji Fuyi had dried her hair, changed into her pajamas, and was sitting on the bed reading a magazine.
When she saw her come out, Ji Fuyi frowned and softly asked:
“Went to reapply suppressant?”
The air was thick with the smell of milk—completely masking her usual mint scent. It felt sickly sweet.
Yu Wei nodded guiltily. “I forgot during my shower, so I just sprayed a bit more.”
Ji Fuyi gave her a look like she could see right through her.
Yu Wei sat beside her, flustered. “What are you reading?”
“Fashion magazine.”
Ji Fuyi replied softly. She carried a clean scent from the shower—fresh body wash mixed with her sweet pheromone, making Yu Wei shiver.
“Wanna read it too?”
Ji Fuyi leaned closer, placing the magazine between them. Their shoulders touched.
The suppressant Yu Wei had just used seemed to have worn off instantly. Her heart was pounding again.
Ji Fuyi’s hand was right in front of her—a pale, slender hand with smooth joints and soft pink nails.
“This suppressant’s scent…” Ji Fuyi frowned again. “It smells awful.”
“I think it’s okay?”
Yu Wei pinched the corner of the magazine, leaving a crumpled crease from her agitation.
“Milk scent is super common. Why don’t you like it?”
“Because you smell better.”
Ji Fuyi said it as if it were the most obvious thing in the world. She even lifted her arm, wrapped it around Yu Wei’s shoulder, and leaned in to sniff her neck. Her lips brushed lightly against Yu Wei’s skin.
“I like your scent.”
Yu Wei trembled slightly. The last thread holding her together snapped.
She grabbed Ji Fuyi’s hand that was resting on her shoulder and pinned her down on the bed, bracing herself as she gazed down at her.
“Jiejie…”
She also leaned down and sniffed Ji Fuyi’s neck, then kissed the skin there.
“If you keep doing that, I really can’t promise I’ll just hold you.”
“Is that so?”
Ji Fuyi responded calmly, locking eyes with her.
Those amber eyes were full of her reflection.
Yu Wei’s gaze was so mesmerized, so devoted—it was as if Ji Fuyi was her whole world.
Ji Fuyi’s heart began to pound wildly. Her mouth went dry, and her throat tightened.
“What else do you want to do?”
Yu Wei looked at her, confusion and longing flickering in her eyes.
Her voice was soft, like she was afraid something might shatter.
“I don’t know what else I can do…”
“I do.”
Ji Fuyi stared at her. Suddenly, she reached up, wrapped her arm around Yu Wei’s neck, and tilted her head—kissing her again.
In the still of the night, Yu Wei could only hear her heartbeat—louder and faster with every beat.
The minty scent slowly spread through the air. In their tender, tangled kiss, she felt her entire world melt away.
Ji Fuyi’s fingertips were burning hot as they circled around her neck. Yu Wei couldn’t help but hold her tighter. She felt Ji Fuyi’s teeth brush her skin—lingering in one spot.
In an instant, she understood what Ji Fuyi wanted to do. Right in that glandless place, Ji Fuyi gently bit down, leaving a mark.
Her kisses trailed from Yu Wei’s neck, down past her collarbone—landing on more and more places.
