I Woke Up And Found Myself Married - Chapter 50
Yu Wei didn’t say anything. Not only did she stay silent, but she also turned over and gave Ji Fuyi her back, clearly refusing to acknowledge her.
Seeing her like this, Ji Fuyi’s smile deepened. She reached out and poked Yu Wei on the back, unceremoniously asking:
“Why are you acting like this? Aren’t you usually pretty lively?”
“Have you ever heard of an eggplant that’s been hit by frost? That’s exactly what I am right now. I’ve been hit hard—I’m not doing well at all.”
Yu Wei’s voice was muffled, clearly tinged with embarrassment.
“Really?”
Ji Fuyi drawled out the word, continuing to poke her back. Yu Wei squirmed but didn’t respond. Ji Fuyi switched tactics and started poking at her neck—targeting the areas with kiss marks. The moment her fingers touched Yu Wei, she flinched and moved further away, clearly trying to escape.
Ji Fuyi let out a chuckle and asked, “Do you need a kiss and a cuddle from your Jiejie to feel better?”
“I don’t want it!!!”
Yu Wei ended up pulling the covers over her head and yelling.
She felt like she’d been thrown into a bottle of soda—surrounded by countless bubbles fizzing around her, leaving her dizzy and swaying, with an indescribable feeling stirring in her chest. It made her feel incredibly shy.
Normally, she was the one clinging and acting cute, always asking her “big sis” to do this and that. Every time she saw Ji Fuyi’s helpless yet proud expression as she indulged her, Yu Wei would be smitten, thinking, “Ah, she’s so cute!”
But when that word—“jiejie”—came from Ji Fuyi’s mouth…
She just wanted to rush out to the balcony and jump into the sea at Summer Island, never to see another human being again.
It was too embarrassing!
“What’s wrong?”
Ji Fuyi rubbed the top of her head and teased, voice laced with amusement:
“Didn’t you always love getting kisses and cuddles from your jiejie?”
“Then kiss me if you dare!”
Yu Wei shouted again. She wanted to grab Ji Fuyi, give her a few rubs, and pin her down to make her behave. But she didn’t dare move, worried she might accidentally touch somewhere she shouldn’t—and affect the baby in Ji Fuyi’s belly.
Yu Wei felt that it was exactly because of this little bun in the oven that she was getting pushed around like this by Ji Fuyi. When that kid finally came out, she was definitely going to squish Ji Fuyi’s cheeks to let out her frustration!
Looking at the blanket puffed up like a little hill beside her, Ji Fuyi couldn’t help laughing even harder.
She reached under the blanket and groped around a bit, saying:
“Why wouldn’t I dare?”
“You totally don’t dare!”
Yu Wei gripped the blanket tightly as she spoke.
“Oh?”
Ji Fuyi slightly lifted the blanket and blew a soft breath against Yu Wei’s ear.
“Where didn’t I kiss yesterday?”
“Don’t come any closer,” Yu Wei’s ears turned red as she quickly rolled away, staring at Ji Fuyi warily. “If you come any closer, I’ll scream.”
“Go ahead, scream.”
The more she acted like this, the happier Ji Fuyi became.
Right now, Yu Wei was very A—completely different from her usual self. Ji Fuyi actually missed the old Yu Wei who used to take the bait with just a little teasing.
“I’m your legally wedded wife. Even if you scream your lungs out, no one’s coming to save you.”
“Legally wedded wife? I like that term,” Yu Wei poked her eyes out from under the covers and said seriously, “Say ‘wifey’ twice and I won’t scream.”
Ji Fuyi froze for a moment, her smile stiffening slightly. That kind of syrupy term—there was no way she could say it out loud.
Clearly aware that Ji Fuyi was too embarrassed, Yu Wei only got more smug.
“Say it, say it! If you call me that just once, I’ll lie down and be your obedient little omega forever!”
Ji Fuyi seemed to hesitate. She thought about it for a while, looked at Yu Wei’s gleeful expression clearly waiting to see her flustered—and still couldn’t bring herself to say it.
Instead, she picked up her tablet and put on a serious face.
“You’re distracting me from work. I’ll come over later.”
“Oh.”
Yu Wei scratched her head and mumbled in response.
She got up, went to her room to change, and wiped off the makeup on her neck.
Once she was dressed, she walked back into Ji Fuyi’s room and asked:
“Did something happen? You don’t look too good.”
“Mm.” Ji Fuyi tapped on her external keyboard, brows furrowed. “Someone took screenshots of our posts and uploaded them online.”
“Huh?”
Yu Wei blinked in confusion.
She didn’t follow celebrity gossip and had no idea what was going on.
Ji Fuyi took off her headphones, switched to speaker mode, and turned the tablet toward her. Caught off guard, Yu Wei saw Lin Xia’s face pop up on screen, smiling brightly as she greeted her.
“Miss Yu, here’s a quick explanation,” Lin Xia said politely before diving in.
“Yesterday, you and Fuyi posted pictures from the beach to your WeChat Moments. Even though neither of you posted photos of each other, the styles were very similar—it was obvious they were taken at the same place, same time.”
“Then someone screenshotted them and posted them on Weibo. It’s already trending now. They’re saying you’re one of Fuyi’s crazy fans who’s followed her on vacation. The internet’s in a frenzy.”
Seeing Yu Wei’s confused what-is-this-mess expression, Lin Xia stayed calm and reassured her:
“You two have a lot of contacts in your Moments list. It’s unavoidable—work connections and so on. Sometimes, gossip spreads. It was just bad luck this time that someone had loose lips.”
Right as Lin Xia was explaining, Ji Fuyi grew impatient.
She turned the screen back toward herself and asked Lin Xia:
“What did Sister Yu say? Do we know who posted it?”
“The tech team’s investigating. We need a bit more time.”
The sound of typing clattered through the call as Lin Xia multitasked, adding:
“The photos didn’t originate on Weibo. The tech team traced it to a dummy account, which claimed a friend sent them the images. That friend saw them in a gossip group. The group got them from someone’s Moments. That person heard about it in a forum… It just keeps going.”
“So many work contacts—people from the crew wanted to add me, and I couldn’t say no,” Ji Fuyi muttered. “I’ve posted photos before without issues. Can’t believe this time blew up.”
“No helping it—the photos are too good.”
Lin Xia praised, then asked:
“Miss Yu, do you have any leads?”
“I really don’t,” Yu Wei scratched her head, looking puzzled. “Everyone on my WeChat is either friends or classmates. Most of them are in art or media. I can’t imagine who would be that bored.”
“You two probably have mutual friends?” Lin Xia asked.
Yu Wei nodded. “Yeah, but they’re all old friends. I don’t think they’d do something like this.”
Lin Xia replied, “Alright. We’ll wait for the tech team’s full trace. Sister Yu is in a meeting and will contact you later to discuss how to handle this.”
“Got it,” Ji Fuyi nodded. “I’ll wait for the options.”
Once the call ended, Yu Wei asked:
“Is this what they call a public opinion crisis?”
“It is,” Ji Fuyi replied, glancing at her before ruffling her hair with a chuckle. “But it’s your crisis, not mine.”
That only made Yu Wei more upset.
She was married to Ji Fuyi, yet now she was being accused of stalking her on vacation? Was this the trouble that came with marrying a celebrity?
Yu Wei was visibly sulking, which made Ji Fuyi feel a little guilty—but also found her quite cute.
“Upset?” Ji Fuyi asked.
“Obviously,” Yu Wei spread her hands. “I married you, and I still get called a delusional fan!”
“That won’t happen again.”
Ji Fuyi stroked her hair gently and said seriously:
“I’ve already told Sister Yu. They’ll give me a few options later to choose from.”
“Nice, you get to choose a plan. That’s not bad.”
Yu Wei flopped down beside her, clearly not in the mood to go out anymore. She grabbed the room service phone and started ordering food.
After placing the order, she noticed Ji Fuyi still tapping away at her tablet, deep in thought.
Noticing her gaze, Ji Fuyi waved the tablet in front of her. The screen was filled with dense lines of text.
“These are the proposed plans. I’m reviewing them.”
“Oh, so they make proposals for you to choose from?”
Yu Wei leaned in, clearly intrigued now. She asked:
“I thought celebrities usually just did whatever their company told them to.”
“Most of the time, yes. But there are exceptions.”
Ji Fuyi nodded and explained:
“Fundamentally, the relationship between a company and an artist is a power game. If the artist is strong enough and doesn’t need the company to survive, the company gets nervous. They’ll cater to the artist more—just to stop them from jumping to a rival agency.”
“Makes sense. So that means you’re a big deal, right, sis?”
Yu Wei clung to her arm with a sweet smile.
“Just so-so,” Ji Fuyi waved her hand modestly. “Not that amazing.”
Yu Wei leaned against her, not wanting to move. She picked up her phone and instinctively opened Weibo to see how badly she was being dragged online.
Ji Fuyi saw her open the app and panicked. She immediately snatched the phone from her hands.
Yu Wei looked at her in confusion. “Why are you grabbing my phone? If you want to play with it, I don’t mind.”
If Ji Fuyi wanted to peek for secrets, Yu Wei wouldn’t just allow it—she’d welcome it.
Ji Fuyi shook her head and set the phone on the bedside table.
“I don’t want to play with your phone.”
“Then were you checking if I’ve been flirting behind your back?” Yu Wei tilted her head, clearly not understanding. “Why’d you take it then?”
“Don’t read Weibo,” Ji Fuyi looked into her eyes, worried. “There’s nothing worth seeing.”
Seeing the concern in her eyes, Yu Wei’s heart warmed. Ji Fuyi was really looking out for her.
“It’s fine. I’ve been criticized before.” Yu Wei reached for her phone again. “When I did exhibitions, people would go online afterward and tear us apart. I think this isn’t that different.”
“It is different.”
Ji Fuyi looked serious.
“You didn’t do anything wrong. You shouldn’t be insulted. And I don’t want you getting dragged into this because of me.”
Yu Wei’s heart fluttered. She didn’t know how deep Ji Fuyi’s feelings for her ran, but when she said things like this, it was impossible to resist her.
“You’re a big celebrity… This kind of thing is inevitable. If not this time, then next time.”
“No, it won’t happen again.”
Ji Fuyi smiled at her and gently stroked her head, then said more firmly:
“I’m going to announce our marriage publicly.”
