I Woke Up And Found Myself Married - Chapter 56
Ji Fuyi’s fingers tightened, gripping Yu Wei’s jawbone with enough force to make it hurt a little.
Her eyes were terrifyingly bright. The deep brown pupils resembled a bottomless pool, carrying an invisible pressure that descended heavily.
Yu Wei instinctively slowed her breathing. Her throat felt dry, as if caught between fear and excitement.
She had never seen Ji Fuyi with such an expression. Most of the time, Ji Fuyi’s gaze was calm, her expression neutral, rarely showing any emotional fluctuations. Even when influenced by pheromones, at most, her eyes would flush slightly at the corners.
But now, this expression—dark and stormy, like the calm before a storm—made Yu Wei both fearful and eager. She wanted to lean into this gaze and kiss her.
She realized—she really liked this version of Ji Fuyi.
In the depths of Ji Fuyi’s eyes, Yu Wei saw a trace of possessiveness, deeply hidden.
She let out a soft sigh, her breath falling lightly on Ji Fuyi’s lips. As she expected, Ji Fuyi’s eyes grew even darker.
“Yu Wei.”
Ji Fuyi called her name, and her eyes seemed like the deep sea, drawing Yu Wei in, making it impossible to break free.
“Let me tell you something.”
Ji Fuyi’s voice was low, like a sky covered by thick dark clouds—its original color impossible to discern.
“No matter how many people like you…”
She released Yu Wei’s chin, letting her hand slide to Yu Wei’s neck, tracing the fading love marks that hadn’t yet completely disappeared. Looking down at Yu Wei from above, she said:
“You are mine.”
Her fingers brushed ambiguously over Yu Wei’s collarbone—gentle in touch, but enough to root Yu Wei to the spot, unable to move.
Her voice, like cold lake water, wrapped around Yu Wei’s skin and engulfed her senses, as she spoke each word clearly:
“Mine.”
Yu Wei’s breathing grew slower and slower. Her eyes were filled with nothing but Ji Fuyi. She stared at her obsessively as Ji Fuyi’s fingers slid down her arm and gently held her hand.
There was a fire burning in Ji Fuyi’s eyes, yet her entire presence felt like it had emerged from a glacial tundra.
She said, “All of it is mine.”
“Your lips.”
Ji Fuyi’s finger pressed against Yu Wei’s lips, tracing the curve of her mouth.
“Your heart.”
Her finger slid down Yu Wei’s neck, landing on her chest, syncing with the rapid beat of her heart, gently tapping her skin, only making it beat faster.
“Your skin.”
Her fingers rested at Yu Wei’s waist, making her instinctively straighten her back.
With a confident, victorious smile, she said:
“Every part of you belongs to me.”
Yu Wei just looked at her—just looked at her.
When their eyes met, it felt like sparks could crackle in the air.
Outside, it had started raining heavily—just like the day they first met.
The wind picked up.
Rain pelted the glass window with faint, almost inaudible sounds, blurring the warm glow of the lights into a haze.
That soft, fierce, and never-ending rain, laced with the scent of the sea, swept through the air.
And in Ji Fuyi’s words, Yu Wei felt something in her heart shatter with a loud crash.
A wave of possessiveness surged within her, even more ferocious than the ocean tides, setting her entire heart ablaze.
Even the love bites on her neck began to burn faintly with heat.
The next second, Yu Wei grabbed Ji Fuyi’s wrist and pulled her into her embrace. Ji Fuyi instinctively struggled and muttered, “What are you doing?!”
“Nothing,”
Yu Wei held both of her hands, locking her in her arms, and whispered beside her ear:
“I’m yours.”
Ji Fuyi didn’t say anything. Yu Wei gently rubbed her wrists and said:
“Of course, you’re mine too.”
“Who said I’m yours?” Ji Fuyi’s previous confidence was gone, and she replied weakly:
“Stop saying nonsense.”
“You’re mine,” Yu Wei murmured, her lips brushing against Ji Fuyi’s ear like a teasing feather. “Even as an Alpha, you’re my Omega.”
“Go away. Who’s yours?” Ji Fuyi muttered softly, “I’m going to shower.”
“You are.”
Yu Wei’s eyes fell on the mark on Ji Fuyi’s neck—a vivid red sign that represented the bond between an Alpha and an Omega. It released a captivating scent, stirring memories of their tender moments.
She stared at Ji Fuyi with endless affection in her gaze. Her eyes drifted downward to her collarbone, and she whispered, “Here.”
Yu Wei’s breath was soft, like she was afraid of disturbing something sacred. Looking into Ji Fuyi’s eyes, she said, “And here.”
She grabbed Ji Fuyi’s wrist. Her voice no longer delicate, but resolute—like it had broken through the fog and returned to the real world—as she declared firmly:
“And here too.”
“All of it is mine.”
Ji Fuyi felt a little awkward being held like that.
Her whole body was wrapped up in Yu Wei’s arms, her back resting against Yu Wei’s chest. She could feel Yu Wei’s soft body—but in exchange, she was completely under Yu Wei’s control.
Her body tensed slightly, unsure of how to respond.
Yu Wei let go of her ankle and simply held her properly.
Her hands were tightly held by Yu Wei’s, and in a slightly disheartened tone, though hidden beneath a composed voice, she said:
“You feel possessive of me—and I feel the same about you.”
“Not less, only more.”
“So, don’t say those things anymore.”
“Like ‘you’re mine’… it kind of makes me sad.”
Yu Wei tried to make it sound like a joke, but an unspeakable melancholy weighed on her heart. No matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t quite hide her disappointment.
“You said only two people like me, just a little…”
Yu Wei started to sound a little aggrieved. She had tried so many times to convince herself not to care. Even though Ji Fuyi often spoke indifferently, her actions always made Yu Wei feel that maybe, just maybe, she liked her too.
But if she heard words like that too many times, her heart couldn’t help but waver.
Did Ji Fuyi’s affection come from love—or just to make her feel better?
Yu Wei often mentioned their “contract marriage”—but truthfully, in her heart, she had already hoped to spend the rest of her life with Ji Fuyi.
Only… building a life together was never a one-sided decision.
Yu Wei released her arms around Ji Fuyi and said:
“I hope you’re not lying to me.”
“I wouldn’t lie to you.”
Ji Fuyi spoke softly, her eyes falling on Yu Wei’s hands. She didn’t take them or pull away. She remained in Yu Wei’s arms, in the same position as before, and said:
“I don’t lie.”
“I’m just not used to saying these kinds of things. Honestly, no one’s ever said these things to me before, so I’m still learning.”
Ji Fuyi spoke slowly. Her tone was calm—just like how she always spoke—without much expression.
And that calm demeanor made Yu Wei’s heart gradually settle.
Those long-held, pent-up emotions seemed to loosen just a little. Yu Wei nodded, signaling she was listening.
Ji Fuyi touched the back of Yu Wei’s hand. She felt Yu Wei flinch slightly, but she didn’t pull away or reject the touch.
“If hearing those words makes you uncomfortable, I’ll be more careful with what I say in the future,” Ji Fuyi said gently. “Two people being together means there’ll be some friction. I hope you won’t mind.”
Yu Wei replied softly, “You sound like you’re making a formal statement…”
“I’m not. I just want to consider your feelings too.”
Ji Fuyi gently held her hand and asked:
“You’ve been upset about this for a while, haven’t you? Why didn’t you tell me?”
Yu Wei bit her lip. She’d always thought—since she was the one who liked Ji Fuyi—she shouldn’t ask for too much. She shouldn’t trouble Ji Fuyi. Otherwise, the process of Ji Fuyi slowly falling for her might take even longer.
But… how could she even begin to explain that?
Ji Fuyi’s fingers caressed the back of her hand. When Yu Wei didn’t answer, Ji Fuyi didn’t push her.
In the silence, Yu Wei heard her heart slow from its earlier frantic pace to a steady rhythm. And in that silence, she felt an overwhelming sense of peace.
It was as if—no matter what she said—Ji Fuyi would never hurt her.
Ji Fuyi’s palm was warm and dry, her fingertips pressing with a gentle strength that soothed Yu Wei’s heart along with her touch.
In a whisper, Yu Wei said, “I was afraid… you wouldn’t like me.”
“There’s no need to pretend.”
Ji Fuyi hugged her, just as Yu Wei had embraced her earlier. Her chin rested on Yu Wei’s shoulder as she murmured near her ear:
“Do you think that if you acted in front of me, and I liked the version of you you were pretending to be… you’d really be happy?”
“I wouldn’t,” Yu Wei replied honestly.
“Mm,” Ji Fuyi gave a soft laugh. “Your acting skills are pretty bad, anyway.”
Yu Wei was slightly embarrassed. Trying to act in front of an award-winning actress—what was she even thinking? It was really a bit ridiculous.
Seeing her expression, Ji Fuyi couldn’t help but ruffle her hair.
Yu Wei’s eyes—those clear, bright eyes—were like a newborn animal, glistening with moisture. They always made Ji Fuyi lose her composure.
Softly, Ji Fuyi whispered in her ear:
“You’re very cute.”
“You’re cute in so many moments.”
“When we first met and you couldn’t take your eyes off me—you were cute. When you kissed me under the tree—you were cute.”
“When I misunderstood you, and you came to explain all flustered—you were adorably foolish.”
“You’re cute when you’re mad, and when you’re happy.”
“You’re cute when you take care of me, and when you worry about me.”
“You’re cute when you’re afraid I’m angry, and when you try to make me smile.”
“When you say I’m yours—you’re cute.”
“When you say you’re mine—you’re even cuter.”
Ji Fuyi gently interlocked their fingers, one by one, until they were tightly entwined.
Her voice carried a hint of a sigh as she continued:
“When you can’t understand my feelings—you’re still cute.”
“A clumsy, pure kind of cute.”
And amid the sound of pouring rain and ocean wind, Yu Wei heard Ji Fuyi say:
“I really like you.”
