I Woke Up And Found Myself Married - Chapter 58
The Next Day.
Golden sunlight streamed through the creamy-white sheer curtains, casting a gentle warmth across the wooden floor and filling the room with a soft, cozy atmosphere.
The light was a bit too bright and woke Ji Fuyi from her slumber. Still drowsy and reluctant to wake up, she instinctively wrapped her arms around the person beside her and nestled into her embrace.
Yu Wei had already woken up, but Ji Fuyi quickly drifted back to sleep.
The ceiling was adorned with intricate carvings that stretched delicately into every corner of the room. In the morning light, the details shimmered faintly with a golden hue.
Yu Wei lay quietly for a moment, admiring the artistry above her until all traces of sleep had left her.
She reached for the remote on the nightstand and pressed the “Close blackout curtains” button. The curtains gave a faint sliding sound as they automatically moved to shield the windows.
The room returned to a dim, sleep-friendly darkness.
Yu Wei exhaled softly. This should help keep Ji Fuyi from being disturbed by the light.
The blackout curtains were set to open automatically at eight in the morning, leaving only the sheer curtains to diffuse the light. Normally, Yu Wei would already be awake before eight, but… yesterday had been exhausting, and her internal clock hadn’t kicked in.
As for the reason why…
Yu Wei’s hand reached behind her neck and gently touched it.
Last night, Ji Fuyi had bitten her there — that look in her eyes, full of possessiveness, combined with the cool, sweet scent that clung to her — had almost made Yu Wei believe she had been marked.
Thankfully, her neck remained smooth, without the slight raised bump that would indicate a permanent mark. It was just an ordinary hickey.
Yu Wei couldn’t help but reach out and touch the back of Ji Fuyi’s neck. Sure enough, there was a mark there — her mark. As soon as her fingers brushed over the area, Ji Fuyi’s Omega gland twitched slightly, signaling the presence of the bond.
But it was still only a temporary mark — not yet transformed into a permanent one, despite the mutual affection they shared.
Yu Wei bit her lip lightly and glanced at the sleeping Ji Fuyi. In the dim light, half of Ji Fuyi’s face was hidden in shadow, giving her a mysterious, captivating beauty.
Maybe… maybe there were still corners of their hearts they hadn’t fully reached yet?
Yu Wei placed a hand over her chest, feeling the steady, deliberate thump of her heart.
She didn’t believe that. She was certain they had already given their everything to each other.
And yet, that temporary mark remained — like a stubborn stain — with no sign of becoming permanent.
Yu Wei felt a little bitter inside. She leaned over and kissed Ji Fuyi’s cheek. In her sleep, Ji Fuyi muttered an adorably soft, “So annoying,” melting away the last bit of Yu Wei’s lingering disappointment.
Maybe something had gone wrong in the process? After all, converting a temporary mark into a permanent one was a core topic that had taken half a semester in their ABO biology class.
Yu Wei decided she would quietly look it up later — to see if she’d made any mistakes.
Ji Fuyi was still asleep. Yu Wei tried to get up like she usually would, but as soon as she moved, Ji Fuyi wrapped her arms around her.
“Don’t go,” she murmured.
Ji Fuyi’s arms tightened around her waist, her voice still drowsy and soft.
“Stay with me.”
There was the faintest upward lilt in her voice — almost like she was being coquettish.
Yu Wei’s heart melted instantly, and all thoughts of looking anything up vanished. She lay back down beside Ji Fuyi, cuddling her, trying to fall back asleep.
She didn’t dream.
When Yu Wei next woke, it was to the sunlight gently rousing her.
Ji Fuyi was sitting beside her, leaning against a pillow, a fashion magazine open across her knees. Seeing her wake, she said:
“You slept for a long time.”
Yu Wei blinked. “?”
She shot Ji Fuyi a dissatisfied look and retorted, “You’re the one who asked me to stay, so I slept.”
“Did I?” Ji Fuyi replied lazily, glancing at her, then lightly folded the corner of a page in her magazine.
“I don’t remember.”
Yu Wei: “…”
What could she even say to that? Ji Fuyi was clearly playing innocent — and doing it brazenly.
In the golden sunlight, Yu Wei stared at the ceiling for a while. The intricate carvings gradually came into focus as her mind cleared from sleep.
Then she remembered the question she had before.
She sat up amidst the fluffy pillows, reached out, and touched Ji Fuyi’s neck.
Still just a temporary mark.
Yu Wei muttered in disappointment, “Still just a temporary mark…”
Ji Fuyi didn’t quite catch what she said. She only felt Yu Wei’s fingers on her neck, then sensed her mood dip, so she asked, “What?”
“I was wondering why the temporary mark hasn’t become a permanent one.”
Yu Wei pressed a kiss to Ji Fuyi’s neck. Ji Fuyi squirmed a little, giggling, “What are you doing?”
“Kissing you. Seeing if that’ll help.”
Yu Wei tried to recall what she had learned back in high school ABO health class. Fuzzy memories started to return. While scrolling through her phone, she said:
“I remember the teacher saying a temporary mark becomes permanent when an Alpha and Omega truly share their hearts. Didn’t we already confirm that? We love each other…”
Watching Yu Wei seriously trying to search it up, Ji Fuyi couldn’t help but laugh.
Yu Wei paused mid-scroll. “Why are you laughing?”
“Did you even listen in class?” Ji Fuyi said, still laughing. “You’re right about needing to be in sync, but yesterday…”
She gave her a teasing smile.
Suddenly, realization struck Yu Wei. Memories of last night flashed through her mind — heated breaths, entangled fingers, and Ji Fuyi’s sultry command:
“Lie down and be the O.”
“Wait, it was reversed…”
Yu Wei sat there holding her phone, questioning everything.
Was this really a thing?
In the act of making the temporary mark permanent, she — the Alpha — had been the one lying down?
No matter how Alpha Ji Fuyi acted, even if she left hickeys all over Yu Wei’s neck, she wouldn’t be able to mark her. A temporary mark wouldn’t become permanent that way.
Ji Fuyi looked at Yu Wei’s frustrated expression and chuckled. “What, just figured it out?”
Her fingers brushed Yu Wei’s neck, pressing gently against a certain spot. A strange feeling bloomed in Yu Wei’s chest; her ears turned slightly red. If she were an Omega, there’d be a gland there, but instead, Ji Fuyi’s touch received no response.
“No way!”
Yu Wei huffed, tossing her phone onto the nightstand. “I just forgot for a moment, okay? I didn’t think it worked like that!”
“It’s not that you didn’t think it worked like that,” Ji Fuyi smirked, her fingers tracing lazy circles on Yu Wei’s skin. “That is how it works.”
She looked completely mischievous, her face practically glowing with flirtation.
“If you want that temporary mark to become a permanent one…”
Ji Fuyi glanced at her own abdomen and pressed more firmly into Yu Wei’s neck, as if she could touch the gland that wasn’t there.
“You might have to wait a while.”
“Then I’ll wait,” Yu Wei said, her gaze flicking up and down Ji Fuyi’s body, her tone laced with suggestion. “I can wait as long as it takes.”
“Oh, really?” Ji Fuyi’s fingers trailed over last night’s lingering hickeys, her voice dropping into a sultry tone. “If you want to try that method again, I’m happy to oblige.”
“Why do you keep touching my neck?” Yu Wei immediately pulled away, hands covering her neck protectively. “I’m not an O! Touching it won’t do anything — there’s no gland!”
“Really…”
Ji Fuyi chuckled softly, her voice silky as she said:
“It’s just… fun.”
“Pfft, fun? I think you just want to bite me,” Yu Wei shot her a suspicious look. “You’re acting so much like an A! Weren’t you originally looking for an O?!”
“I am an A. Go ask anyone.” Ji Fuyi said lazily, confidently pointing outside. “Why would I need an O?”
She turned back and gave Yu Wei a gentle smile — but Yu Wei immediately felt alarm bells ring in her head. Ji Fuyi was definitely about to mess with her again.
Sure enough, Ji Fuyi poked at her neck and grinned:
“Aren’t you good enough?”
“Just good enough?” Yu Wei growled. Ever since that night, Ji Fuyi had flipped a switch — she was even more outrageous than when they first met.
Yu Wei licked her lips and smiled back:
“I think you mean amazing, right?”
That familiar, aggressive mint scent suddenly spilled out from her, overpowering and dominant, completely enveloping Ji Fuyi.
Yu Wei had already removed Ji Fuyi’s hand from her neck and locked her wrist in place.
As the mint scent thickened, Ji Fuyi’s heart began to race.
This was different from last night. Then, the mint on Yu Wei had been like a tease of early summer — cool and sweet. But now, it was overwhelming, like a storm ready to consume her.
Yu Wei’s slender fingers held her tightly, the mint fragrance swirling around them, bringing back vivid memories.
A stormy night.
Desperate kisses.
Fierce embraces.
Scattered blonde hair and intertwined hands.
A swinging chandelier.
Bubbles in a bathtub.
A soft voice whispering “Mark me.”
The moment of being claimed.
Mint tangled with sweet pheromones in the air.
Morning milk and golden sunlight.
Everything returned — trembling in her heart.
Yu Wei’s lips brushed Ji Fuyi’s ear, low and fierce as she asked:
“Isn’t that right?”
Ji Fuyi struggled to control her breathing, not realizing her eyes had begun to redden at the corners.
Meeting Yu Wei’s gaze, Ji Fuyi bit her lip and finally whispered:
“Yeah… soft and sweet…”
Her voice trembled, laced with a teasing sort of submission.
Yu Wei pressed a kiss to her chin — gentle, but possessive. It was both a mark of claim and a soft reassurance.
Their lips were just a centimeter apart. Ji Fuyi could feel every breath, filled with that intoxicating scent.
Yu Wei’s eyes sparkled like stars, her smile playful as she asked:
“Who’s soft and sweet?”
Ji Fuyi let out a faint breath and replied:
“Me.”
