I Woke Up And Found Myself Married - Chapter 60
As soon as Xu Sihan said that, the voice call went silent for a long time.
Yu Wei didn’t speak. She just stared at the phone screen as if she hadn’t heard a single word that had just been said.
Seeing her like this, Ji Fuyi couldn’t help but feel a little worried.
She quietly watched Yu Wei, eyes filled with concern, as if asking silently: Are you okay?
Yu Wei bit her lip and stayed quiet for a while. Then she forced a small smile at Ji Fuyi, signaling that she was fine.
But that smile looked strained.
Seeing that expression only made Ji Fuyi feel more distressed.
She gently reached out and held Yu Wei’s hand, softly stroking the back of it, trying to comfort her.
Though she had known Xu Sihan for some time—shared meals, laughed and posed for pictures at gatherings—they were merely acquaintances.
But it was different for Yu Wei.
She and Xu Sihan had known each other since high school, spent their youth studying together. Over the years, Yu Wei had always considered Xu Sihan a friend. After returning to China, the first thing she did was reunite with her old friends.
It was clear that to Yu Wei, friendship meant a lot.
And now she’d found out that Xu Sihan, under the guise of friendship, had secretly hurt her while claiming to like her. Even if jealousy was the reason, it was still deeply hurtful.
Ji Fuyi heard Yu Wei let out a quiet sigh. The stiffness in the hand she held seemed to ease. Yu Wei turned to her, smiled again, and shook her head, assuring her once more that she was really okay.
But this time, she didn’t pull her hand away from Ji Fuyi’s. Instead, she held it even tighter.
Yu Wei’s heart was full of heaviness.
She had thought they all grew up together as good friends, but it turned out they viewed the world so differently.
Only after Yan Shu told her about Xu Sihan’s feelings did she finally realize what had been going on.
She hated her own obliviousness—and hated how underhanded Xu Sihan had been.
This whole mess could have been avoided…
Although the situation had now been resolved and was moving in a better direction, when things first exploded, Ji Fuyi’s furrowed brow had made Yu Wei feel awful.
Clearly, it had been her own failure to manage things properly, and yet Ji Fuyi had ended up bearing so much.
And after all this time, Xu Sihan had played dead like a quail, saying nothing. Now that everything was settled, only now did she admit it was her fault? And even worse—she had the nerve to ask for forgiveness?
That pitiful tone of hers just now… clearly, she wasn’t taking this seriously at all. She even seemed to be trying to get something out of it.
Yu Wei was livid. How could someone be like this?
She’d even had a decent impression of Xu Sihan before—thought she was detail-oriented and responsible. She’d even shown her around a few venues.
Was it that she couldn’t judge people well? Or had too much time passed for her to see her old friends clearly anymore?
Xu Sihan, on the other end, panicked when Yu Wei remained silent for so long.
She had begged Yu Wei like this—was Yu Wei really not going to forgive her?
Her voice grew even softer and more pitiful. Low sobs came through the phone speaker, raising goosebumps.
She sounded weak and helpless, truly pitiful:
“Weiwei… I really know I was wrong. Please, forgive me just this once…”
“No.”
Yu Wei finally spoke. Her voice was cold and merciless, leaving no room for compromise.
As someone with very strong Alpha traits, when she spoke without emotion, her voice carried an undeniable sense of authority.
Xu Sihan’s heart jumped. She had never heard Yu Wei speak like that before. Did that mean… she was really angry?
“Weiwei…”
Xu Sihan asked tentatively, “Are you mad?”
Yu Wei almost laughed in disbelief.
After everything, she still had the nerve to ask that?
Who wouldn’t be angry in this situation?
Even if this had been done by an enemy, anyone would be furious.
Yu Wei let out a cold laugh and said directly:
“Don’t call me that anymore. You’re no longer my friend. Hearing you call me that just makes me sick.”
“You say it wasn’t on purpose. I don’t believe you.”
“If it was truly an accident, you would’ve told me the moment it happened. Not now—only after everything’s over do you come out and admit it was your fault.”
“Your apology has no sincerity. You’re only doing it for yourself.”
“I will never forgive you.”
On the other end, Xu Sihan was stunned.
She hadn’t expected things to go this far.
Yu Wei… actually said she wouldn’t be her friend anymore?
Her mind went blank. She no longer cared about pretending to be pitiful and suddenly shouted:
“No! You can’t stop being my friend!”
“Xu Sihan, choosing who to be friends with is everyone’s right.”
Yu Wei’s finger hovered over the hang-up button, and her expression was icy:
“I don’t make friends with people who have no integrity.”
And with that, she hung up the call—and blocked her.
Xu Sihan froze for a second, then tried to call back, only to realize—she was no longer on Yu Wei’s friend list.
She collapsed onto the floor, sobbing uncontrollably.
Her body trembled, curling up like a shrimp.
Crying hysterically, she stared at her old journals and photos strewn across the floor. The more she looked, the angrier she became—suddenly she started ripping them all to shreds.
Blocked? Fine. B City wasn’t that big—they’d definitely run into each other again!
Besides, she still knew the address of Yu Wei’s new art exhibit. She’d find a way to make things right and become her friend again!
Xu Sihan clenched her fists tightly, telling herself that the past was behind her. Now was a new beginning.
…
Summer Island rooftop restaurant.
After the call ended, Yu Wei lowered her head and stared at her hands. The delicious spread in front of her had completely lost its appeal.
Ji Fuyi looked at her and felt her heart soften.
She didn’t want to see that expression on Yu Wei’s face.
To her, Yu Wei’s smile was a treasure. She didn’t want her to feel even a sliver of sadness in life.
Still holding Yu Wei’s hand, Ji Fuyi used her other hand to send messages to several PR directors she was close with.
From this moment on, in every social event where she and Yu Wei were present, Xu Sihan would never receive an invitation again.
And as for private gatherings—after word got out about what Xu Sihan had done—no one would invite her anyway.
Since Yu Wei didn’t want to see her again, Ji Fuyi would make sure she never had to.
After settling everything, she gently massaged Yu Wei’s hand and softly asked:
“Want to take a walk on the beach?”
Yu Wei was feeling stifled and had been wanting some open space. Hearing Ji Fuyi suggest it, she naturally nodded.
The sun wasn’t too harsh today, and there was a gentle sea breeze—perfect weather for walking by the water.
As they stepped onto the beach, Ji Fuyi spotted a vacation shop nearby. She glanced at the colorful items displayed out front and asked:
“Weiwei, do you want to collect seashells today?”
“No.”
Yu Wei rejected the idea instantly, saying disdainfully:
“What am I, three years old?”
But her mood was clearly better. Ji Fuyi remembering her little hobby so clearly gave her a strong sense of how much Ji Fuyi genuinely cared for her.
“Alright, alright, no seashells. Our Weiwei is a grown-up now.”
Ji Fuyi teased her while laughing, but her tone was flirtatiously sweet.
“Then does Weiwei want to build a sandcastle?”
Yu Wei: “……”
That was even worse than seashells…
At least collecting seashells could pass for a girlish pastime. But building sandcastles? That was definitely kindergarten behavior.
But…
Yu Wei’s eyes drifted toward the kids building sandcastles on the beach—adorable little shovels, all kinds of castle molds, and even working toy cranes!
Why were kids these days so spoiled? Yu Wei suddenly felt a little jealous.
Just as she was staring longingly at the toys, Ji Fuyi—who had apparently just gone to buy a bottle of water—returned.
Only… what she was holding was definitely not water.
It was a giant red tote bag, filled with colorful castle molds, a bright yellow shovel in a matching bucket, and even cranes and bulldozers.
Yu Wei’s eyes lit up—wasn’t this the deluxe sand toy set from that vacation shop?!
Ji Fuyi had actually gone to buy that…
Her heart melted. All her earlier frustration seemed to vanish in an instant.
With someone like Ji Fuyi—who loved her, cared for her, and spoiled her like this—what more could she ask for?
Yu Wei reached out happily to grab the toy bag, but Ji Fuyi lifted it just out of her reach.
Yu Wei: “Eh?”
Ji Fuyi looked at her dazed expression and suddenly had the urge to ruffle her hair. That look was way too adorable—like a silly little bunny.
Yu Wei kept staring at the toy bag and asked pitifully:
“Wasn’t it for me?”
“Of course it is.”
Ji Fuyi gave her a you-think-I’m-as-childish-as-you kind of look and grinned:
“But you have to call me jiejie first.”
Normally, Yu Wei loved to say “Jiejie, give me a kiss~” in a cute voice, but when it came to Ji Fuyi asking for it, she suddenly got shy.
She stood there hesitating, face full of conflict.
“What? Don’t you usually love calling me ‘Jiejie, give me a kiss~’?”
Ji Fuyi dangled the toy bag in front of her like bait.
“Just call me Jiejie, and you’ll be the coolest kid on this beach.”
Yu Wei looked around—sure enough, the only deluxe ultimate toy set was in Ji Fuyi’s hands. Even if she went to the store now, it would be sold out.
How could Ji Fuyi do this… She bought the last one…
Yu Wei stared at the bag and muttered:
“You’re just making me call you Jiejie to get what I want… What does that make me…”
So humiliating.
She was an Alpha, after all. How could she be so soft and easily manipulated like that?
Unexpectedly, Ji Fuyi reached out to pat her head, her voice warm and gentle:
“It makes you… my little cutie.”
Yu Wei’s heart skipped a beat.
A faint blush rose to her cheeks. She reached for the toy bag while mumbling softly:
“Jiejie, give me a kiss.”
