I Woke Up And Found Myself Married - Chapter 7
Ji Fuyi didn’t say anything. She simply stared at her with cold eyes.
Yu Wei’s lips were pressed into a straight line, her already sharp features appearing even more defined. Her gaze dimmed slightly as she leaned toward her.
“Did you drink?”
Ji Fuyi raised a finger and placed it between their lips.
Yu Wei’s kiss had already landed on her fingertip. Her voice was hoarse as she replied, “No.”
Ji Fuyi’s lips curled up slightly. “Little one, you’re not being honest.”
Aside from her usual minty scent, there was clearly a faint whiff of alcohol on Yu Wei—something like peach-flavored sweet wine. The mix of peach and mint wasn’t unpleasant, surprisingly.
Yu Wei shook her head, then cautiously glanced at Ji Fuyi’s expression. Seeing that she looked displeased, she nodded slightly and said, “Just a little.”
Ji Fuyi tapped her shoulder with a finger, motioning her to step back.
“Why did you follow me?”
Her voice was pleasant—like a cold spring, cool but tinged with sweetness.
Yu Wei blinked. “To see you.”
Ji Fuyi let out a soft, cold laugh. “Liar.”
“…No, really,” Yu Wei looked a little wronged. She no longer clung to her, just stood in front of her. “I just felt a bit sorry… Did I do something I shouldn’t have last night?”
She spoke while watching Ji Fuyi’s face.
Ji Fuyi’s expression remained unchanged. “You’re overthinking.”
“Is that so…”
Yu Wei seemed hesitant, as if contemplating something.
Ji Fuyi looked up at her. “If you have something to say, say it.”
Clearly trying to get her to leave.
Ji Fuyi was indeed feeling a little irritated. The dressing room was small—just two spots. With the two of them crammed in such a tight space, their pheromones had long saturated the air.
Yu Wei’s minty scent mixed with the peach wine was tolerable at first, but the longer it lingered, the more it got on Ji Fuyi’s nerves.
Why?
She didn’t know. She just felt Yu Wei’s scent used to be more pleasant when it was mixed with watermelon—sweet and refreshing. This peachy alcohol scent felt… off.
Annoyance stirred in her chest, making her tone less friendly.
Yu Wei stepped back, turned her head to the side, and avoided Ji Fuyi’s eyes. “Did I do something that made you dislike me?”
She looked a bit fragile as she asked.
“No,” Ji Fuyi said, not bothering to hide her actions anymore. She took out a pheromone suppressant and sprayed it on herself. The scent of wormwood immediately surrounded her, bringing a familiar sense of calm.
“Don’t tell anyone I’m an Omega.”
“Hm?” Yu Wei snapped out of it. “They don’t know?”
“No.” Ji Fuyi glanced at her. “Everyone thinks I’m an Alpha.”
Upon hearing that, Yu Wei suddenly chuckled.
Ji Fuyi looked confused. “Is that so funny?”
Yu Wei nodded earnestly. “How did you even pull it off? Anyone with a nose can tell you’re an Omega…”
At that banquet, from the moment she first saw Ji Fuyi, she found her scent intoxicating—like a sweet, chilled watermelon on a summer day.
“No one’s ever figured it out,” Ji Fuyi said, clearly puzzled. “I’ve pretended to be an Alpha for three years. The most anyone has ever asked is what perfume I use. Never once have I slipped up—except that time I saw you. Something about you just… pulled me in.”
“You’re the first one.”
“Oh~” Yu Wei suddenly lit up with excitement, leaning closer. “So I’m special!”
This girl really knew how to flatter herself. Ji Fuyi couldn’t help but laugh.
Yu Wei blinked up at her, speaking seriously. “Fuyi, do you think we’re meant to be?”
There’s a rumor—some Alpha and Omega pairs have pheromone compatibility rates above 99.5%. Their scents are irresistibly attractive to each other, while others can barely smell them. These pairs are said to be fated—soulmates.
“Nonsense.” Ji Fuyi knocked her lightly on the head. “Come on, let’s go eat.”
“How am I talking nonsense again…” Yu Wei pouted and followed behind her. “You’re the princess locked in the tower by the evil dragon, and I’m the brave knight who came to rescue you…”
Halfway through her fairytale, Ji Fuyi turned around and gave her another light knock on the head. “You’re such a fool.”
Yu Wei clutched her head, trailing behind as they walked through the winding hallway.
Looking at Ji Fuyi’s back, she suddenly felt happy—but didn’t know why.
The moment they stepped back into the room, someone teased, “Finally back! Fuyi went out first, and Weiwei followed right after. Where’d you two sneak off to?”
Ji Fuyi answered calmly with a smile, “Just went to touch up my makeup.”
“Oh~” The group gave her knowing looks. Someone asked, “Just to fix your makeup? Didn’t get a taste of her lipstick?”
Ji Fuyi shot a glance at Yu Wei and saw her sitting obediently in her seat, eating quietly. Upon closer inspection, the tips of her ears were red—whether from embarrassment or the alcohol, it was unclear.
Ji Fuyi said, “What are you all thinking? Weiwei’s still young.”
She smiled dotingly, playing the role of a gentle older sister.
“Hahaha! Weiwei, young? You kidding?”
Someone burst out laughing, glanced at Yu Wei, and said, “She’s been abroad for years—what kind of lipstick hasn’t she tasted?”
Yu Wei immediately shot back, “What nonsense are you spouting!”
Ji Fuyi’s brows furrowed slightly. What kind of lipstick hasn’t she tasted?
So this little one had another side to her.
She thought back to the way Yu Wei had confidently invited her out during the banquet—definitely not a rookie move.
A trace of discomfort crept into Ji Fuyi’s chest. Logically, she knew Yu Wei’s past had nothing to do with her, but hearing that still left a sour feeling.
Sensing Ji Fuyi’s change in mood, Yu Wei hurried to explain, “It’s not like that! Fuyi! I was young and reckless—I’ve changed now! Seriously! Look how well-behaved I’ve been since I came back!”
Ji Fuyi looked at her quietly, making Yu Wei feel incredibly uneasy.
Well-behaved? Well-behaved enough to climb into her bed the day after coming back?
Ji Fuyi tugged at the corner of her lips and gave her a meaningful smile.
Yu Wei: “…”
Crap. I forgot about that. I literally just slept with her!
The others didn’t catch on but were quick to add fuel to the fire.
“Look at Weiwei when she’s with Fuyi—completely different. Definitely idol-level admiration~”
Yu Wei: “…”
Please stop…
Ji Fuyi raised an eyebrow and gave her another smile that made Yu Wei’s heart skip a beat.
Yu Wei quickly texted her:
Yu Wei: “It’s not what you think…”
Ji Fuyi: “Oh? So what lipstick flavors haven’t you tasted, hmm?”
Yu Wei: “Uh… no, that’s not it!”
Ji Fuyi put her phone away, ignored her, and focused on ladling herself a bowl of chicken and mushroom soup.
The golden broth was rich and flavorful. The mushrooms brought out the tenderness of the chicken perfectly—one sip warmed her from tongue to stomach. Ji Fuyi thoroughly enjoyed her meal, not sparing Yu Wei another glance.
Yu Wei felt like she was about to jump out of her chair. Ji Fuyi definitely misunderstood!! It’s not like that!! Or at least… not that bad!!!
“Weiwei looks anxious,” Yan Shu rolled his eyes, stepping in to stop the teasing. “Gotta maintain her image in front of her idol—after all, what if the fan becomes the lover?”
Ji Fuyi lifted her head at the right moment, offering a mysterious smile. No confirmation, but no denial either.
Yan Shu laughed, “Fuyi didn’t say no—that means there’s hope!”
Ji Fuyi kept smiling and watched Yu Wei with amusement.
Under her gaze, Yu Wei slowly turned red—like a soft pink peach ripening into a full-blown tomato.
How amusing. Ji Fuyi’s mischievous streak was satisfied. She dropped the smile and quietly resumed eating.
“Wow, Weiwei actually blushed?” someone exclaimed. “Now that’s rare. Back in Country A, she ruled the nightclubs…”
“Stop! Stop!” Yu Wei couldn’t take it anymore and put her hands together pleadingly. “I’m begging you all—please stop exposing me!”
“Alright, stop teasing her.”
Ji Fuyi spoke lightly, setting down her spoon. She then sent Yu Wei another message.
Ji Fuyi: “So… queen of the nightclubs, huh?”
Yu Wei: “Didn’t you say stop teasing me?!”
Ji Fuyi: “I never said I’d stop teasing you.”
Yu Wei: “…”
She looked up and shot Ji Fuyi a furious glare from across the room.
Ji Fuyi smiled sweetly at her, then casually asked the group, “Is there a second round tonight?”
“Of course! We’re going to karaoke—Fuyi, you coming?” someone responded immediately.
“I’ll pass,” Ji Fuyi smoothed her hair. “I’ve got work tomorrow.”
“Aw, Fuyi’s so busy. Being a celebrity isn’t easy.” The same person then turned to Yu Wei. “Weiwei, how about you?”
Yu Wei answered right away, “I’m not going either. My family’s strict.”
They chatted a bit more, and around 9 PM, people started getting up to leave.
Ji Fuyi left first. Yu Wei stayed to joke around a bit more before exiting the private room.
As soon as she stepped out, she spotted someone at the corner of the corridor, quietly watching the fish occasionally leaping from the water.
Yu Wei stopped in her tracks—it was Ji Fuyi.
She leaned against the railing, tall and elegant, tossing fish food as she watched the koi. She looked like a painting. Yu Wei held her breath and tiptoed closer.
Seeing her, Ji Fuyi waved her car keys. “I’ll drive you home.”
What…? Did the sun rise from the west today?! Yu Wei stood frozen, afraid she’d misheard.
When Ji Fuyi saw she didn’t respond, she said, “Let’s go?”
Yu Wei: “Go… where?”
Ji Fuyi: “Your place.”
Yu Wei stammered, “I… I’m not allowed to bring people home.”
Ji Fuyi didn’t know what to say to that, so she patiently replied, “I’m not going to your house.”
Yu Wei: “Huh?”
“I meant, we can stay at a hotel…” Yu Wei suddenly worried she’d misunderstood. “I have a room I rent long-term…”
“Oh, sounds like you’ve done this before?”
Ji Fuyi’s tone was dry, her unease deepening.
“No no no! It’s not like that!” Yu Wei scrambled to explain. “Sometimes it’s too late to go home! I’ve only brought you there—no wait, that’s not what I meant! It’s not what you think!”
Ji Fuyi: “…”
What the hell is going on in this girl’s head?
Without another word, Ji Fuyi turned and started walking. “Hurry up.”
Yu Wei rushed after her. “Why are you sending me home?”
Ji Fuyi didn’t bother explaining. “You drank.”
Yu Wei: “Huh?”
Ji Fuyi: “…”
Did she drink herself stupid again?
She patiently clarified, “You drank, so you can’t drive. I’ll take you.”
Yu Wei immediately latched onto her arm, grinning. “So thoughtful~ How did I end up with such a sweet big sister?”
Ji Fuyi opened the car door and started the engine with practiced ease. “Who said you picked me up?”
“You did,” Yu Wei said from the passenger seat, tilting her head innocently. “Aren’t you my big sister?”
