I Would Like To Live A Different Life If I Could Go Back In Time - Episode 15
The next day, after saying goodbye to Rees in front of the academy dormitory, I changed into my adventurer’s clothes in my room, put on my robe, and headed to the guild.
Of course, I wore the skull mask deeply. Since I went to the guild with Graham and the others, my rank is D rank. Of course, so is Emma.
By the way, Graham is ranked B. I think he’s quite strong.
It’s the minimum rank for F to take the beginner’s course. I was hunting monsters with Graham and the others because I wanted to see if my dreams could become reality, and I thought that even a small amount of money could help fund their future. So now, coming to the guild while thinking about my own future makes me a bit nervous.
Since I’ve never hunted alone before, I look at the request form with anxiety.
It’s better to start with something simple first, right?
Thinking that way, I decided to hunt down the five horned rabbits.
I thought the receptionist would say something, but they didn’t say anything in particular, and I was able to present my guild card and accept the request.
As for the result, we were able to defeat the unicorn rabbit easily.
Today, I tried hunting as a test, and I got a little money for picking up the monsters and completing the order.
I nervously added some pocket money to my guild card.
I was anxious about trying it, but this might actually be doable.
I went to report to Eme and the others with a cheerful feeling!
I felt a bit embarrassed being looked at with respect by my younger brothers, but I was filled with a sense of accomplishment for having completed it.
When Eme leaves the inn, she is scolded for not removing her skull.
Well, that’s true.
Instead, I’ll cast a recognition-inhibiting spell from the inn to the dormitory before heading back.
The reason we don’t apply recognition suppression in the guild is that it causes problems when forming a party.
It’s troublesome when you take your eyes off your companions for just a moment and can’t recognize them anymore.
And if the magic accidentally wears off during battle, it could end up being like, “Who are you?” So I think a mask is the safest option since we have to hide the fact that we’re nobles.
I secretly think that the various people wearing masks and active in the guild are nobles.
In the morning, I attended the academy, in the afternoon, I worked at the guild, and occasionally helped out at the clinic, continuing this routine every day.
“Lady Yuria, what should we do about the exam? I heard this time it’s very difficult.”
Rarely, Liz is showing signs of weakness. It seems that after some deliberation, Liz has decided not to join the student council.
It was an honor, but there was jealousy from the noble ladies. No matter how much the school proclaims equality, there’s nothing you can do if the nobles are watching you.
I fully understand that part as well.
“Well then, shall we study together at the library until the exam?”
“Really!? Thank you! As expected of my friend!”
And so, during the exam period, I used the magic bird to inform them that I wouldn’t be able to go to the inn or the clinic.
After a while, I received replies from both Eme and Professor Paron wishing me good luck on the exam.
I started studying with Liz at the library. That said, I didn’t really need to study that much, so I reviewed while reading. And sometimes, I ended up answering Liz’s questions.
“Wow. Lady Yuria. It’s strange why you’re in Class A. You wouldn’t be out of place in Class S.”
“I wonder. I might be the type who can’t show my true abilities during exams. But I’m doing my best.”
I laugh it off by saying that.
This day, with only two days left until the exam.
As usual, while studying with Liz at the library, I was called from behind.
“Studying together before the exam? How diligent.”
“Lady Yolande, good day.”
“Yes. Lady Yuria is teaching me.”
“To Lady Yuria?”
“Yes. Lady Yuria is amazing.”
Reese is praising me, but I’m secretly on edge. I don’t want to attract the attention of His Highness’s aides.
“Are you studying too, Yolande-sama?”
“No, I just came to look for materials to use in the student council.”
“Oh, I see. Look, over there, someone is looking for you, Lord Yorland.”
I tried to subtly divert attention, but it seems I failed.
“Don’t worry about it. More importantly, where are you having trouble, Liz?”
Both of us are taken aback by the way they are pushing their way into our group.
Lord Yorland is just as cool as His Highness. He has a cold attitude towards things he’s not interested in, but that seems to stir the hearts of the young ladies.
The jealousy of the young ladies is terrifying, you know?
Even though there are fewer people in the library in the afternoon, I don’t want to be mistaken for being close to Lady Yorland, who is His Highness’s aide.
“Um, this part here and this part here, but since Lady Yuria will teach me, it’s fine!”
“Miss Yuria is in Class A, right? It might be better if I, from Class S, teach her.”
Reese flinches at those words.
They really come on strong, don’t they?
“Miss Yuria, is there anything you don’t understand?”
“No, I don’t have any plans at the moment. Thank you for your concern. …I feel like I might be intruding, so I’ll head home now. Rees, do your best!”
I left after saying that.
Sorry, Liz.
I ended up using you as a shield.
When I glanced back, I met Liz’s pleading gaze, but I just gave a sorry expression and quickly left the scene.
Running away is winning!
