I Would Like To Live A Different Life If I Could Go Back In Time - Episode 28
It seems that no one in the mansion knows yet what happened in the palace.
Since I thought it would be bothersome to be told various things, I asked the maid to help me take off the dress immediately and put on my usual clothes.
I think we should be getting a message from the palace soon.
I don’t want to be held up there again and have to spend time at the mansion.
It’s best to make a quick getaway here.
“I’m going back to the dormitory now. If anything happens, send me a letter.”
When I told the butler and was getting ready to leave the mansion.
“Have you had your meal?”
“I don’t want to. My younger siblings would just dislike it if I were there, right?”
“Understood.”
After saying that, I applied recognition inhibition and quickly returned to the academy.
The town is usually lively, but today it feels somehow busier. I wonder if it’s because of the palace. The academy felt the same way.
I’m usually not stopped by the guard at the gate, but today they thoroughly checked my identification.
It seems that a notice has also been sent to the academy.
“Ah, I’m tired. I can’t anymore.”
I muttered those words and collapsed onto the bed as if I had fainted.
I wonder how long I slept. Before I knew it, it was evening.
Um, I left the mansion in the early afternoon, went back to the dormitory, and got into bed right away, so I wonder if I slept for a few hours?
Since my head was fuzzy, I didn’t have any particular questions and was getting dressed to head to the cafeteria when I heard a knock on the door.
“Yes, who is it?”
When I opened the door with sleepy eyes, it was the dorm mother standing there. She seemed very worried and was speaking rapidly and earnestly about something.
“I’m sorry, I’m still sleepy. What’s wrong?”
“Yuria-san, are you okay!? We’ve received letters at the dormitory repeatedly saying they couldn’t get in touch with you at home!”
Um? I couldn’t understand what had happened in the past few hours. As my mind started to clear up little by little, I looked around and about ten letters sent by message magic flew into my hands.
I was surprised by the number of those letters.
“Anyway, I think it would be best to have it checked at the academy’s clinic once.”
Huh?
Just a few hours of sleep?
For now, I just told the dorm mother that I was fine and said I would stop by the infirmary on my way to the dining hall. The dorm mother told me to contact her immediately if anything happened.
I wonder if the palace has turned into a complete mess in just a few hours??
After the dormitory matron left, I sat on the bed and read the letter that had arrived.
Seven letters were from home. And the remaining three were letters from the palace, from Lord Yorland, and from Doctor Paron’s clinic.
It seems that the letter from home conveyed the events at the palace, and it was a letter to call me back home.
From Yolande, I received a letter expressing concern for my well-being, while the letter from the royal palace was an invitation to come to the castle to express gratitude.
It seems that after receiving the letter from Doctor Paron, they learned what had happened because they were urgently summoned to the palace as a healer.
It seems like they contacted me out of concern for my well-being.
And then I realized.
I thought I would just sleep for a few hours, but it seems like it’s already been three days since I collapsed into bed.
Of course, the dorm mother would be worried too.
I hurriedly wrote a reply to Professor Paron. I also sent a brief message to Lady Yolande, just to let her know everything is fine.
And then, a summons from my father.
This can’t be helped.
My mood just plummeted all of a sudden.
Just in case, I sent a message to my father saying that I will come by the house tomorrow to explain what happened this time.
I wonder what happened while I was sleeping. Anyway, I’m hungry, so I headed to the cafeteria for the first time in three days.
Originally, there were hardly any people due to the long vacation, but now, because of the fear of monster attacks, there are almost no students either. This is a bit troublesome. It’s hard to have a proper meal.
The head chef in the kitchen stayed behind and served bread, scrambled eggs, and ham.
I have to head to the treatment room soon. After thanking the head chef and quickly finishing my meal, I headed to the treatment room.
“Teacher, are you there?”
“Oh, are you still staying in the dormitory?”
“Yes. I just woke up for the first time in three days. The dorm mother told me to come and get checked.”
“Hmm. Well then, Yuria-kun, come over here.”
I will silently undergo the doctor’s examination.
“Three days? …Hmm. You’re not injured anywhere. It seems you just used up a lot of magical power and fell asleep. Could it be that you were in that place overflowing with monsters from the royal palace?”
“Yes, there was. I think they were consuming quite a bit of magical power because they had set up a large barrier.”
“I see, it was you. Thanks to the barrier you set up, it seems the guests and the Crown Prince were unharmed. I was also called to the palace to treat the knights, and everyone was praising the one who set up the barrier.”
“I was anxious about casting such a large barrier for the first time, but I’m glad it went well. I ended up sleeping for three days straight, though.”
Talking while laughing.
I didn’t have any particular injuries, and I was just tired from the massive consumption of magical power and fell asleep. I thanked the teacher and returned to my room.
Let’s go to bed now.
I had just woken up a few hours ago after sleeping for three days, but since I felt too lazy to even think about tomorrow, I was just lounging in bed and apparently fell asleep again without realizing it.
I might not have been at my best.
