I Would Like To Live A Different Life If I Could Go Back In Time - Episode 32
When I come to, an unfamiliar ceiling comes into view.
“W-where am I?”
I sat up, looked around, and saw Professor Giannino sitting by the bed, hugging me tightly.
“I’m glad. I’m sorry, Lady Yuria. I made you go through so much. This is the palace infirmary.”
“Um, I collapsed, didn’t I? I’m sorry. I caused you trouble.”
“Have you woken up? I will check if there are any abnormalities.”
The teacher steps away from me, and the doctor approaches, casting a spell to examine me.
“There doesn’t seem to be any abnormalities. You can go home once you calm down.”
Thank you very much.
“Lady Yuria, I will take you to the clinic today. Let’s have Dr. Paron take a look at you as well.”
“Professor Giannino, thank you very much.”
I was about to jump out of bed when Mr. Giannino scolded me.
“I don’t know what will happen.”
The teacher picked me up effortlessly and started walking.
“Se, Sensei!? I can walk. It’s heavy, you know.”
“It’s light, you know? Because I’m a magician.”
“I don’t really understand the reason for being a magician!?”
“Ah, even so, I’m going out of the royal capital with the knights to hunt magical beasts. I train as a mage daily so I can keep up with the knights. Carrying Lady Yuria is nothing for me.”
I, flustered and unsure of what to do, wander my gaze around.
My own maidenly heart, feeling embarrassed and heavy.
The teacher, smiling, left the infirmary and walked to the carriage stand. The stares of people in the hallway, wondering what was going on, were painful.
A fifteen-minute carriage ride from the palace. The teacher finally got into the carriage and sat me down in my seat.
“I could have flown straight to Dr. Paron’s clinic like this, but if I did it in the city, I’d get scolded too.”
Even though they are saying it while laughing, I have a feeling that if it were the teacher, they would probably just fly back without any problem.
That’s right, I had promised my father that I would return to the mansion today.
Remembering, I sent a message to my father saying that I had collapsed in the palace and was heading to the clinic to see Dr. Paron.
From my father, I immediately received a reply saying, “Understood. Don’t overdo it.”
“Professor Paron, I have brought Lady Yuria.”
It seems that Dr. Giannino had already contacted Dr. Paron in advance, so I was quickly taken to the examination room.
Yeah, I was taken away.
As soon as I got off the carriage, I was picked up again. Seeing this, Professor Paron is worried that my condition might be bad.
“Lady Yuria, are you alright? I’ll examine you right away.”
“Dr. Paron, I had the palace doctor examine me too, and he said there was nothing wrong, so I’m fine. It’s just Dr. Giannino being overprotective…”
“Giannino, could you step out for a moment? I need to talk with Lady Yuria.”
“No, I’m here too. It’s an important conversation, after all.”
“Teacher, I’ve already told Professor Giannino that time has been rewound, so it’s okay.”
I said that and allowed part of the teachers’ magical contract.
“I see. An attack that hasn’t occurred in a long time has happened. Can I ask for more details?”
“Yes. At the palace, Professor Giannino pointed out the amount of magic power I had and asked how I was living in the territory, so I answered.”
And we talked about going back from the future to the past, and also about the dream. The teacher showed us a book that had the magic for reversing time written in it.
The book said that it was magic only the royal family could use and that it required a sacrifice from the user.
When I saw that content, I remembered past events and collapsed.
Normally, I could just brush past memories of the past, but His Highness, Prince Randolph, why, why did he…
“It’s okay. That’s enough. Lady Yuria, shall we take a short break?”
Professor Giannino traces his finger along my cheek. Before I knew it, tears were streaming down my face.
“…but”
“Don’t worry. I’ll talk to Professor Paron properly. You should lie down for a bit.”
After putting me to bed, Professor Paron cast a spell on me.
The painful emotions I had until just now are gradually becoming easier.
“I cast a tiny bit of sleep magic, so you might feel sleepy. If you do feel sleepy, it’s perfectly fine to just go ahead and sleep.”
Yes
I was crying without realizing it, but it seems my body was also tense. With Professor Paron’s magic, I’m starting to regain my composure.
“Lady Yuria, please stay at Graham’s inn today. He’ll come to pick you up soon.”
“Teacher, I’m fine now. I can walk to the inn by myself!”
When I told Professor Paron that I could do that much on my own, Professor Giannino smiled and said to me.
“Should I keep him resting in my arms until Mr. Graham arrives?”
“I’m waiting for Eme’s ride to arrive.”
“That is wise.”
Immediately, Eme came to pick me up, worried about me.
“Miss Yuria, I heard you collapsed and hurried over.”
“Eme, I’m sorry. Normally, it’s fine, but I remembered it when I was lost in thought for a bit.”
“Eme, could you let Lady Yuria stay at your inn today? She would feel safe and comfortable there.”
“Professor Paron, of course. Miss Yuria, shall we go home? Can you walk?”
“It’s okay, I can walk. Thank you, Professor Paron and Professor Giannino.”
“Take care. Don’t overdo it. I’ll contact you again.”
Yes
I said that and left the clinic with Eme. When we returned to Eme’s house, everyone was worried about me. Family really is a wonderful thing.
It goes without saying that I reluctantly went to bed after playing with my younger brothers all night and getting scolded by Eme.
