- Episode 80 - His Majesty Gives Orders to Wazulgard
“Your Majesty, Vera Venegict has escaped from the noble prison with the help of someone.”
A knight entered the king’s chamber where he was holding court and made his report.
“Escape…?! Find the person who helped him immediately.”
“Understood.”
After the knight left the room, His Majesty thought for a moment before dismissing the attendants and guards who were in the room.
“Sign, come here immediately.”
The man who appeared before His Majesty from nowhere.
“Did you call for me?”
“Vera Venegict has escaped from prison. Do we have any information?”
“Of course. The one who helped him was the gatekeeper. Apparently, he was approached by a knight during the evening shift change. After chatting for a bit, he went to the cell and found it open.”
“Was there anything suspicious about the knight who spoke to you?”
“The knight’s affiliation has also been confirmed, and it seems he was not a knight with any particular issues.”
“Hmm. The knights are still unsettled from the attack. Search for the culprit at Wazulgard.”
What will you do about Vera Venegict?
“Of course, find him. I don’t care if he’s alive or dead. Ah, if necessary, borrow tools from Johnson Reed.”
“Understood.”
Johnson Leetweed is one of the few who know of the existence of Wazulgard.
He would lend a helping hand.
Randolph probably doesn’t feel good about using Wazulgard, but they are ultimately part of the dark side. They never mix personal feelings into their work. He should understand that by now.
Due to Brol’s betrayal, discord has arisen among the knights.
I’ve heard that some operations are being disrupted because of that. And now, a jailbreak? One headache after another.
I hear that Randolph hasn’t woken up yet either.
The queen is putting on a brave front, but she would have been heartbroken without Leonard. It is a relief that Leonard is seriously studying to become the crown prince, as he believes he is taking his brother’s place.
The butler, who entered the room again, makes tea without saying a word.
I took a sip of the steaming tea.
“That’s tough.”
“Indeed, it is.”
And then, taking up the quill pen once more, I returned to my duties.
