- Chapter 4 - However
“Indeed, i have heard some graduates complain that the usual graduation party is too formal.”
As i paused, Noelia smiled triumphantly.
Oh, i was not finished yet.
“This is not what graduation party supposed to be. It is to introduce us, the students, to the real world as nobles, right? And this graduation party is an occasion for us students to understand once again what it means to be an intellectual noble.”
“That’s just a formality, it is meaningless though!”
The Prince nodded in agreement, but not with Noelia.
I sighed and shook my head.
“Do you not understand that the ceremony at this graduation party are important to the estabilishment of our Kingdom?”
“His Highness Fabian’s ideas is admirable! Much better than this mere dancing party!”
“That is right!”
Dear Noelia, did you seriously not know? There was a particular issue with Prince Fabian whose in symphaty with you.
“It’s an inherited arrangement, Noelia, Your Highness Fabian. Your Highness Fabian knows about it, isn’t it?”
“So, that is why i said it’s just a formality!”
I wondered if Prince Fabian was serious about this?
“The ceremony need the help of the spirits. It is learned at the academy, don’t you know? That is why we, the graduates, are recognized as royalty and nobility. That’s how we are recognized by the people. When are you going to hold the ceremony? There won’t be another opportunity for the students of the academy to gather together.
“There will be another opportunity! We can do it later!
“Exactly!”
Noelia, you talked casually, i hope this did not backfire on you. Of course, it was Prince Fabian’s biggest problem.
“Do you think it’s okay if Your Highness Fabian’s actions cause public discontent to erupt in the time being?”
I said quietly, and Prince Fabian gritted his teeth.
“How dare you say such thing! Your Highness Christiane, you have been disrespectful to His Highness Fabian.”
Noelia, did you really mean it?
“I have always covered up on the misbehavior of His Highness Fabian. But in the past year, the rumors i have heard about His Highness Fabien were terrible. I was hurt, but all i knew was that there was no one near His Highness Fabian other than me to advised him or to clean up his messes.”
“His Highness Fabian doesn’t need anyone to clean up after him! It’s really disrespectful!”
“I-i never asked Christiane to clean up my mess!”
Both Noelia and Prince Fabian looked at me irritated.
“It was His Majesty the King who told me to cover for His Highness Fabian, not His Highness Fabian himself.”
I shook my head, and Prince Fabian’s hand began to tremble.
“Cover me up?! Don’t lie! Her Christiane only criticized my actions, she was just nagging! She’s never cleaned up any mess of mine!”
“That’s right! Her Highness Christiane is the one who has been tormenting His Highness Fabian!”
I thought Prince Fabian was insensitive, but this was interesting! Noelia’s accusations were so outrageous, it was becoming amusing!
“Your Highness do not notice, right. But i am the one who followed up on every of Your Highness remarks to make sure that no problems occurred. I have heard that all the trouble you have caused in the past year is due to Your Highness’s actions.”
“His Highness Fabian’s ideas are wonderful!”
“Yes, Noelia is right! What i have said and done during the past year has been supported by everyone in the academy! It’s been a year of recognition that my idea is a great one!”
I thought Prince Fabian was thoughtless, but it seemed he truly didn’t think at all. …Neither does Noelia.
“All of this has been put on hold by the Principal, right?”
Did he think i don’t know that? I felt the momentary relief at Prince Fabian’s speechless, furious expression was short-lived.
“That’s because they were such wonderful ideas that the Principal wants His Highness to implement them when he becomes a King!”
The explanation was so ridiculous that i stared at Noelia’s face. I was so dumbfounded that i couldn’t stop blinking when i saw Noelia’s face become smug and proud.
“Exactly! Noelia is right! Besides, this graduation party was all about my idea after all!
“Indeed”
Prince Fabian pumped his fist proudly, and Noelia nodded vigorously.
“That’s right!”
Suddenly, a voice was heard from a part of the audience. Looking over, I saw it was Prince Fabian’s cronies. The exact person who always sticking to His Highness Fabian while I cleaned up his messes.
However, no one else joined in.
Naturally, when His Majesty’s name is invoked, most people would agree.
I was sure …… that being a villainess might be a good role to covered up those idiots.
