Episode 16: The Super Common Hero Summoning 14
I had heard about a country governed by those who have ancestors from another world, but… I never expected there to be multiple places like that.
“Adelreed Kingdom is ruled by kings of pure native of this world.”
…That’s a bit concerning in its own way.
Well, as long as I keep my (Divine Eye) abilities a secret, it shouldn’t be a problem.
Also, it might be worth remembering that the neighboring Garentalia Kingdom is close by.
The others were mostly countries neighboring or close to the Shriden Kingdom, so it’s possible that only the Shriden Kingdom is performing the hero summoning itself.
If that’s the case, why aren’t the other countries trying to stop it?
“…Well, I guess it doesn’t matter what I think.”
The people of this world probably know more about it, and they must have their reasons. They might think it’s lucky to have someone from another world show up out of the blue.
“Still, the territory of the Adelreed Kingdom isn’t very large, is it? If they were attacked by another country, they wouldn’t stand a chance.”
Looking at the map, that was the main thing on my mind.
Compared to other countries, the Adelreed Kingdom is quite small and only shares borders with two other countries aside from the Forest of Demons.
One of those is the Garentalia Kingdom, but the other is a country purely ruled by natives of this world.
“Both Garentalia and Reinhabart Kingdom have formed alliances with the Adelreed Kingdom, so there’s no need to worry.”
“I mean, I don’t think the other countries are actively trying to destroy the Adelreed Kingdom, either.”
“Is that so?”
I was intrigued by Glenn’s addition.
However, the reason behind it was extremely simple.
“The defensive measure of the Adelreed Kingdom is Granzawall. Which means that, from the perspective of other countries, the Adelreed Kingdom itself serves as a defensive measure.”
“…In other words, they don’t want to deal with managing the Forest of Demons, right?”
“Exactly.”
Well, even if they say that with a smile, it’s a bit concerning.
Indeed, no country would want to deal with magical beasts, and no country would want to manage them either.
However, this connects quite a bit with what the two had been saying.
“However, if information about food that temporarily boosts abilities comes out, there will be countries that want to take over the Forest of Demons.”
“Precisely.”
It’s true that information can be a weapon.
“So, for those reasons, the Adelreed Kingdom is currently allied with the neighboring countries. So there’s no worry of it being destroyed.”
If Alicia says that, it must be true.
I sat down in a chair, took a deep breath, and sipped the now-cold tea.
“Hehe, have I overloaded you with information?”
“Yes, I’m a bit tired.”
“Then let’s take a break. It’s snack time, after all.”
With that, the two of them left the living room.
Now that I was alone, I decided to organize my thoughts.
(While I’m in the Adelreed Kingdom, I probably won’t run into those guys. The King of Shriden must think I’m dead, and the fact that I was transported will likely be kept secret.)
If I were to confront the King of Shriden, I could publicly reveal his misdeeds. But whether anyone would believe me is another issue. And I don’t even know if I can get to the Shriden Kingdom in the first place.
Then I might as well enjoy this world as planned. Otherwise, it would be such a waste.
“…Still, the Forest of Demons…”
I hadn’t even finished investigating a tenth of it, and the area it covers is extremely enticing.
Investigating this place might lead to enjoying the other world—this world, I suppose.
Thinking this, I decided to set a goal for myself in this world.
“All right, for the time being, I’ll focus on leveling up. But ultimately, I want to explore and survey the Forest of Demons. And…”
As I nodded to myself while crossing my arms, the two returned with snacks and freshly brewed tea.
I reached for the snacks and, while sipping my tea, voiced a suggestion.
“Alicia, I was transported near the entrance of the Forest of Demons, right?”
“Yes, that’s correct. Even if there are fruits that boost status, it would be difficult to return from deep within.”
All right, that works out better for me.
“I have a suggestion—how about we set up signposts in the Forest of Demons?”
““…HUH??””
…Well, I guess it’s a natural reaction to be surprised when I say it out of the blue like that.
