Once I confirmed that we were away from the room, I decided to ask Alicia regarding my profession.

“Alicia. If we’re going to act together, shouldn’t you tell Vil-san about my skills?”

“That might be true, but that’s a different conversation. I do care about both the Captain and Ricott-chan. But I also want to protect you, Maki-san.”

“But I think Vil-san is a trustworthy person, right?”

It’s a bit dubious to trust someone I just met today. But this comes from my Appraisal of Vil-san. To be honest, I appraised everyone who was in the room, and there was some not-so-good information about one of them.

The first person who spoke to Alicia was the bearded, tough-looking soldier. And next to his name, it displayed (enemy, intent, present). It’s only natural for him to harbor hostility towards someone like me, whose identity is unknown. But there was no such display for Vil-san.

Just because we met once in the mansion doesn’t mean he should trust me easily. Yet he didn’t have any negative indications.

If I believe in my Appraisal skill, I think it’s fine to tell him.

“Vil is indeed trustworthy. However, I think it’s still too early.”

“…Understood.”

But Alicia didn’t give permission.

“By the way, will that strategy really save us?”

“Well, the success rate is displayed as 10%, which is quite low. But it’s the highest chance we have to save everyone.”

“…T-Ten percent?”

Yeah, it’s low; I totally get that. It’s very concerning.

“Well, there’s no cleverness to it. A strategy like recovering with potions and escaping quickly isn’t very creative.”

“…In other words, even if we come up with a plan, it wouldn’t matter?.”

“That might be true. But I will definitely make it work.”

I said that to reassure her, but I realized there might be other strategies… or perhaps there are.

“Alicia, there’s something I want to tell you—”

“It seems Vil has returned.”

Before I could convey my thoughts, Alicia spoke. And moments later, Vil-san came back into the room.

“Is this alright?”

“Let’s check… Yes, it’s fine.”

He brought a total of ten potions.

“With this many, even if we get injured, it’ll be more than enough.”

“I will definitely protect you, Alicia-sama!”

“Hehe, thank you, Vil.”

“Y-Yes!”

As she expressed her gratitude, Alicia quietly placed the potions into her magic bag. 

Alicia’s magic bag was a plain waist pouch attached to her belt. I had imagined something more ornate and beautiful for a woman. But it seemed designed for mobility, which surprised me.

Noticing my surprise, Alicia explained with a wry smile about the magic bag.

“This is the magic bag my father used.”

Alicia and Glenn’s parents fought to drive away the magical beasts and ended up losing their lives. They probably had a bag like this for easier movement during emergencies.

Alicia’s high level might be because she fought alongside soldiers against magical beasts.

“I want to become a lord who can protect Granzawall, just like my father and mother did.”

“So, that’s why you insisted on going this time?”

“That’s part of it, but the main reason is that the citizens are in danger.”

After Alicia finished putting the potions away, Vil-san stood next to her. 

Even though it’s a strategy with a low success rate, we must ensure it succeeds. If the plan were to fail…… well, somehow it would work out.

“Alright, let’s go!”

““Yes!””

Though I haven’t conveyed this to Alicia, in the worst-case scenario, I might report back on my own judgment.
