“I’m sorry, um… should I call you Akigase-sama?”

“Oh no, there’s no need to add ‘-sama’ to it. Just call me Haruka.”

“Then… Haruka-san?”

“That works fine.”

Seeing Akigase-sensei smile warmly, Alicia let out a relieved sigh.

It was just the three of us—myself, Alicia, and Akigase-sensei—while the three soldiers had stayed behind at the gate to report on what had happened.

Sensei’s question made me think. 

Sure, I’m worried about Madoka, but it’s not like I can do anything about it right now. Unless she comes here through a transfer, I’d have to cross two entire nations to get to Shriden.

“I’m worried, but I’ve got my hands full with my own situation right now.”

Maybe that’s why I could only give a vague answer.

“…You’re right. I’m sorry, Mihiro-kun. You’ve had enough to deal with on your own, and here I am asking strange questions.”

“Well, it was tough at first, and I’m still pretty busy. But I’m managing better now.”

“Is that so?”

As I spoke, I lightly patted Alicia’s shoulder.

“Now I have Alicia and her brother Glenn with me.”

Alicia, who had been looking a bit down for some reason, was suddenly startled but then smiled warmly.

“Yeah. Without you, I wouldn’t have been able to enter Granzawall, and I might not have even known about my profession. Meeting you changed my life, Alicia.”

“I see. Alicia-san, thank you so much for helping Mihiro-kun.”

Alicia was flustered. She tried to get Sensei to lift her head.

“N-No, I just did what anyone would! Besides, I realized you and Maki-san were from another world, so it just made sense!”

“Regardless of the reason, you still helped.”

Sensei lifted her head and repeatedly thanked Alicia while holding her hands.

…Honestly, I’m so glad Akigase-sensei is safe. And I’m glad she’s getting along with Alicia.

“Oh! Alicia, look! Glenn is waving at us!”

As we neared the mansion gates, we saw Glenn running out. He waved eagerly, clearly having been waiting for our return.

“Nee-san! Maki! …Wait, who’s that?”

We all said at once, laughing heartily at Glenn’s understandable confusion over the unfamiliar face.

After giving Glenn a brief explanation, we decided to rest for a bit.
