Episode 54: The Super Common Hero Summoning 49
There are only six of us involved in this conversation.
Since everyone here knows that Sensei and I are from another world, and about the fruit that temporarily boosts abilities, there’s nothing to hide as we go over everything.
However, the only one unaware of my Appraiser (Sensei Eye) ability was Sensei, so I explained it to her —
“Mihiro-kun! If you had such an ability, why didn’t you mention it back then!? It’s fine because you’re alive. But you could have died, you know!”
“Well, I didn’t expect to be thrown aside on the first day of the summoning…”
“That’s not something you can brush off with ‘I didn’t expect it’!”
“…I-I’m sorry.”
As you can see, Sensei was furious.
Well, I admit I acted rashly. But I don’t think it’s something to get that mad about.
“However, Haruka-san, if he had mentioned it at the royal castle, the King of Shriden would have squeezed everything he could out of him. And once he had no more use for him, he probably would have been disposed of.”
“Indeed. In fact, you could say it was quite fortunate that you transferred at this timing.”
“At this timing?”
When I questioned Ryan-san’s words, it was Vil-san who answered.
“It’s the regular attack by magical beasts. When that occurs, magical beasts always become more active in the Forest of Demons. We believe territorial disputes among the magical beasts happen regularly, and the next cycle was still far off.”
“So you’re saying it was a quiet period for the beasts?”
“Exactly.”
I see. That explains why I didn’t encounter any magical beasts in the area I transferred to.
If I had run into them right after transferring, I probably would’ve been killed. I really was lucky… Wait, luck?
“Speaking of which, my Luck stat is unusually high. Can I ask what your Luck stats are?”
“Luck? It doesn’t increase even with level-ups, so your initial value is what you’re stuck with for life. Mine is 20.”
“…20?”
“That’s actually quite high. I only have 10.”
Alicia has 20, while Ricott-san has 10.
I asked Ryan-san and Vil-san as well, and they both said they had 15 each.
“…Ah, and what about Akigase-sensei?”
“Mine is 35.”
“I wonder if people from other worlds tend to have higher Luck? Maybe it’s because I have ancestors from another world that my Luck is also high.”
…If 20 is considered high, and Sensei has 35 as another otherworlder, then my stat is ridiculously abnormal.
“By the way, how high is your luck stat, Maki-san?”
“…It’s 100.”
“””””……Excuse me?”””””
“…I said it’s 100.”
“””””……WHAAAAAAAAAAT!?”””””
Yep, they had the exact reaction I expected.
“M-Maki-san, are you serious about having 100 Luck?”
“Yeah, it’s true. Maybe I transferred at this exact time because of my high Luck. Anyway, moving on—”
“Wait, this isn’t something you can just move on from so easily, Maki-sama!”
“Ah, I thought so?”
“…Could it be that I was saved when I lost consciousness because of Mihiro’s high Luck?”
“No, no, I don’t think that had anything to do with it.”
I have a feeling that everything’s going to start being chalked up to my high Luck. But I’d like to believe defeating the Bullfang was thanks to my profession, not luck.
“So, Maki-san, being exiled from Shriden, surviving in the Forest of Demons, meeting us, and even surviving yesterday—all of it was thanks to your high luck. And also because you were able to make use of your Appraiser (Divine Eye) profession.”
“Um, Alicia?”
I called out to Alicia, who suddenly started muttering to herself. But then she abruptly looked up at me, making me jump a little.
“Maki-san!”
“Y-Yes!”
“Maki-san, your high Luck is part of what makes you, you!”
“…Well, yeah, I guess.”
…Why is she smiling silently like that? It’s kind of scary, actually.
“Surely, Mihiro-kun’s high Luck also influences the success rate of his Appraiser (Divine Eye) ability. So with not only his profession, but also his high Luck helping us, you want to thank him for it?”
“Exactly!”
“Why is Sensei suddenly the translator here!?”
“Hehe, that’s a secret.”
For some reason, it’s become crystal clear to me that Sensei is someone I absolutely must not make an enemy of.
