Episode 119: A Life in Another World that is Far from Free 55
The ground of the hidden passage caved in. Vibrations caused sand and dust to fall from the walls and ceiling.
No, more than that, the shock came from the massive crater created by the descending fist.
In the center, of course, was Yuria and Arata, who was knocked out from a blow to his cheek.
They were both fellow inhabitants of another world, and both held the special class.
I thought that if they clashed, even a well-constructed castle could collapse. But this time, Yuria won in a single strike.
“Wh-What on earth is happening?!”
And then, unable to accept the reality before him, Gozef shouted in a frenzy.
…Well, I couldn’t entirely blame him for that. Their trump card had been taken down with a single blow, after all.
But, is this guy really that oblivious? Forget about me; Yuria had once been valued here as a special class too.
“Get up! Why aren’t you standing, you useless fool! Protect me, will you not?!”
“He’s unconscious, so anything you say is pointless.”
“Y-You! Do you even know who I am?! I am Gozef Shriden, the king of Shriden Kingdom!”
“I know that, which is why I came all the way here to chase after you.”
Having confirmed the surroundings were safe with the flare map, I moved next to Yuria alongside the Vice Commander and spoke up.
“Who are you people?! Where did you spring from?!”
“We don’t have time to explain, but I will answer one thing. I am Narssen Ruzens, the Vice Commander of the Adelreed Kingdom.”
“Adelreed Kingdom, you say?! No way… that can’t be!”
“Whether you believe it or not is up to you. But our intention to capture you remains unchanged.”
“Ugh! Y-You woman!”
“Ahh?!”
For some reason, Gozef shoved a woman who was escaping with him toward us, knocking her into the crater.
There’s a high possibility this was some kind of trap. But Yuria caught the woman’s body without hesitation.
“Are you okay?”
“…Y-Yes.”
“You should act like a man before being a king!”
“Shut up! I am the king, the absolute ruler who will unify this continent! I cannot stumble here!”
“Appraisal: Probability of Gozef Escaping.”
Looking at Gozef, who was needlessly roaring, I thought he might have some secret plan. So I performed an Appraisal.
However, the result showed that the probability of Gozef escaping from this place was completely zero, merely confirming the truth.
“Let’s have you come with us, Gozef Shriden.”
“W-What?! How did it come to this?! What are the other inhabitants of another world doing?! Why is only this useless fool here?!”
“Arata is not useless.”
I got annoyed by his selfish claims. Honestly, I just didn’t like hearing my friend spoken about negatively.
“You! How do you know that guy’s name?!”
“…Don’t you recognize my face?”
“I have never seen your face!”
“…I see. Well, that makes sense.”
“Are you alright, Maki?”
“Hmm? Oh, I’m fine. I couldn’t remember what his face looked like either, so it’s mutual.”
“D-Don’t mess with me! You… huh? No, wait. That girl over there, could it be?!”
Oh, he remembered not me, but Yuria.
“Ah, looks like you remember me, King Gozef?”
“…I remembered… I remembered, Fist King!”
“…You seem to have forgotten my name.”
“Do you think you can go against me and remain safe?!”
“No, as you can see, I’m perfectly fine.”
“Hah, hahaha! It seems there’s no woman with you that I exiled! So, she must be dead!”
…This guy is stupid. Just because she’s not here, he assumes she’s dead.
When I looked at Yuria, she seemed to be at a loss for words from his absurdity.
We exchanged glances and couldn’t help but smile wryly while shrugging our shoulders.
“What’s so funny?! You will pay with your lives!”
“Okay, okay. I don’t even want to hear your voice anymore. Is it alright if I hit him once, Vice Commander?”
“Can I count on you, Kondō-dono?”
“Don’t bring back any weird germs, okay?”
“Oh, he definitely has some.”
“…Y-Y-Y-Youuuuuuu—GEFUGH!?”
As Gozef screamed with bloodshot eyes, Yuria’s right fist sunk into his left cheek. It caused him to let out a strange sound as he crashed into the wall.
With that momentum, he shattered the stone wall with his face and then slumped over, knocking himself out.
“……..Hey, Yuria. You didn’t kill him, right?”
“……..I made sure to hold back, okay?”
“Appraisal: Gozef Shriden. …Ah, he’s fine; he’s still alive.”
Well, this guy has unnecessarily high levels and stats. But why didn’t he fight himself?
…Well, I guess I’ll leave things I can’t figure out alone.
The Vice Commander was carrying Gozef, while Yuria took care of the woman. And I carried Arata as we retraced our steps.
Just to be sure, I Appraised the situation on Sensei’s side. And strangely enough, everything was suppressed without any issues.
Was it really this easy? I couldn’t help but think that there might be something behind it.
