…The Silver Wolf pack has been wiped out.

The Mages’ barrage of spells was impressive, but the real standout was Arata.  

The primary reason was the doubling of his stats thanks to the fruit. But even so, his swift movements allowed him to keep slicing through the Silver Wolves.  

When he cut five of them cleanly in half with a single strike, I was left speechless, frozen in place.  

If you were to compare pure stats, Ryan-san and Vil-san would definitely be stronger. But there was a reason Arata’s performance stood out so much.  

That reason is… because he’s a Sword Saint, a special class.  

This was something I didn’t know until recently, but it seems there’s a “class bonus” that affects one’s movements in ways that aren’t reflected in the stats.  

At first, I thought it was because his Swordsmanship skill level was higher. But Arata and Ryan-san are both currently at the same skill level—level 7—so that’s not the case.  

There’s a possibility that it’s due to the difference between natives of this world and those from another world. But since this difference is reflected in the stats, it’s unlikely to be the cause.  

To confirm, I used my Appraisal skill. And sure enough, I found out that there’s a “class bonus.”  

Those from other worlds are already favored by their higher stats. But if they also receive hidden class bonuses, it makes sense why higher classes would be highly valued.  

“Collection’s done!”  

“Hey, Maki? Did you even do anything?”  

“Uh… I helped with collecting materials?”  

“So, basically, you did nothing.”  

“Well, I’m not a combat class, so there’s not much I can do, right?”  

“Haha, don’t worry! I’ll protect you, Maki-kun!”  

Being told by a girl that she’ll protect me is kind of embarrassing. But I’ll let it slide for now.  

Besides, once I level up more, I’ll be able to protect Madoka and the others too. Until then, I’ll focus on directing our exploration of the Forest of Demons and leveling up.  

“Alright, everyone! The next magical beast will be the last one for this expedition! But, it’s the strongest one we’ll face so far!”  

Yes, we need to be extra cautious with the next one. Even with all our precautions, the Appraisal shows that while no one will die, injuries are inevitable.  

“The enemy is a Lesser Earth Dragon.”  

“A Dragon… a Dragon-type beast, huh?”  

“When we took down the Queen Dragon before, Akigase-sama defeated it all by herself.”  

“Uwaaaahhhh! BIG SIS! BIG SISSSSS!!”  

The moment Vil-san mentioned Sensei’s name, Mirelle-san screamed in anguish.  

I’m seriously worried about her… If anyone’s going to get injured, it’ll probably be Mirelle-san.  

There’s something I recently learned about the Appraisal skill: it can’t predict human behavior.  

Magical beasts have low intelligence, so the Appraisal skill can make fairly accurate predictions. And those predictions always happen as expected.  

But humans don’t always act according to the “best course of action.”  

Even if I give instructions and people follow them, there are times when things still don’t go according to plan.  

I wish the Appraisal skill could account for human unpredictability. But it seems to be doing the best it can within those limits.  

“…Anyway, everyone, be extra cautious when dealing with Dragon-type beasts. We’ve never actually defeated one ourselves.”  

“Ugh… Big sis…”  

…I’m seriously concerned.  

I might need to secretly assign someone to support Mirelle-san.  

As I was thinking that…

“――GRRRROOOOOOAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!”

A beast’s roar echoed from deep within the forest.  

But this is strange. According to my Appraisal, we should still have more time.  

“Everyone, prepare for battle immediately!”  

I quickly re-Appraised the situation.
