“First, let me introduce you to Madoka-chan. This is Gregori, the Mithril Golem.”

Just as he had done with Arata, Moriya transferred the Familiar Contract. With that, Madoka officially gained Gregori as her familiar.

The Appraisal results revealed the dragon’s species: Ancient Crystal Dragon.  

“That’s the legendary dragon!”

I suddenly recalled something from when I asked Moriya about familiars.

As the pieces clicked together, I realized Moriya had planned this all along and intentionally introduced me to the Ancient Crystal Dragon’s child.  

“… Y-You…”  

“Ahaha, you caught on? But don’t worry. The Ancient Crystal Dragon listed in your Appraisal is probably an adult. This little one doesn’t have the kind of power to purify the undead yet.”  

“Well, it *is* a kid.”  

“Pikyaa!”  

As Moriya and I spoke, the little dragon suddenly leapt from his arms and dashed toward me.  

“Guh!”  

“It seems like this little one really likes you, Maki-kun!”

“Pikyaa!”  

As the little dragon rubbed its forehead against my chest, I smiled softly and gently patted its head.  

“…Moriya, what’s this one’s name?”  

“This little one is called Sunny.”  

“Sunny, huh… Alright then, nice to meet you, Sunny.”  

“Pikyaa!”  

When I called its name, Sunny raised its head and chirped in response.  

And so, we each gained familiars who would become our partners from now on.
