It’s been a month since we started building the new base—though it wasn’t because of an erupting hot spring or anything dramatic like that.  

During that time, I’ve been fully utilizing my Appraisal skills to give instructions and personally taking action to ensure the base turns out well.  

After Moriya finished constructing the treasure vault, I had him build a few temporary huts and then help with clearing trees in the Forest of Demons.  

Once the huts were completed, I installed a teleportation magic circle to summon carpenters, who quickly built numerous houses.  

Occasionally, Alicia and her group would stop by, take a soak in the hot springs, and then leave. I think that’s part of the charm of having hot springs—a day trip to a relaxing destination has a nice ring to it.  

“Wow! So cute!”  

“Amazing! That’s so cool!”  

“Hehehe, so fluffy~!”  

Surprisingly—or perhaps as expected—the familiars became immensely popular with the children.  

I decided to test out creating a space where humans and familiars could coexist. And it’s been met with overwhelming praise.  

Originally, I thought it would appeal more to adults. But children are refreshingly honest. If something’s cute or cool, they’ll eagerly approach it.  

Of course, the parents were understandably worried. But the familiars showed no signs of harming the children and instead played happily with them.  

Seeing this scene, I started to believe in the world Moriya once described—where humans and familiars lived together in harmony.  

“Hah!”  

“Take this!”  

“Hmph!”  

“Hohoho. Such meager attacks cannot harm me!”  

What’s even more surprising is how friendly the Sword Queen turned out to be toward humans.  

She doesn’t just spar with the soldiers who teleported here but also takes on adventurers for practice.  

Some adventurers even seriously tried to defeat her, but they were swiftly and thoroughly defeated—often to everyone’s amusement.  

Among them, Arata has sparred with the Sword Queen several times. He’s now ranked among the few humans capable of entertaining her.  

I hope he continues to improve and develop his skills.  

“Ahhh~!”  

“Oh my, this feels amazing~!”  

“Pure bliss~!”  

“Gah! It stings my wounds, but I can feel it working!”  

The hot springs, now the most popular attraction, have become a major hit with people of all ages.  

From morning to night, they’re always bustling with visitors.  

Of course, we had to reserve time for cleaning. So we set aside the afternoons for that. Even so, more and more people keep showing up, eager to use them.  

I might have to expand the water channels and increase the number of hot springs soon.  

“Ouch, dammit! That lightning zone is insane!”  

“It’s not just the lightning; the magical beasts there are ridiculously strong!”  

“Yeah, no way we’re going back there. Better to just pay for teleportation!”  

Some adventurers have tried to brave the lightning storm zone but quickly fled back in defeat.  

The teleportation magic circle is a paid service, but I’ve kept the fees low enough to ensure it’s accessible to anyone.  

After all, drawing people in and encouraging them to spend money here is key to the base’s success.

“What’s up, Madoka?”  

“About Taiku-san… shouldn’t we take him to meet His Majesty?”  

…Oh. I forgot about that.  

“Uh, should I take him to the capital?”  

“Of course! I want to go to the capital too and punch that Knight Commander in the face! Let’s go now!”  

“No, that’s a hard no on your suggestion.”  

“Why not?!”  

“Setting Kondō’s opinion aside, yeah, we probably should arrange an audience with His Majesty.”  

“Even Arata thinks so!”  

Obviously.  

Still, Moriya is the key to managing everything right now. So it’s a tricky situation.  

“…….Why don’t we just invite His Majesty and his entourage here? They could experience the hot springs too.”  

“”“…What?”””  

“That sounds great! It’d be easier for me, too!”  

“Whoa! Moriya, when did you get here?!”  

His sudden voice from behind startled me, and I let out a weird yelp.  

“I’d love to show off the place we worked so hard to build. How about it? If we go with this plan, I’ll do everything I can to help!”  

“Wait, you’re talking about teleporting them here?”  

“Exactly! I’ll just bring them here, quick and easy!”  

…….Yeah, let’s do that. It’d make things easier for me too.  

“Alright, then. Once things settle down, teleport me close to the capital.”  

“I’m coming too!”  

“What?! I want to go too, Maki-kun!”  

“I’d like to visit again myself.”  

“Wait, hold on! This is still just a rough idea! Nothing’s decided yet, alright?!”  

“Ahahaha! Everyone’s really having so much fun!”  

No, I’m *not* having fun! It would absolutely be easier if I went alone!  

I have no idea how things will turn out. But for now, I’ll focus all my energy on improving the base.  

………..Well, I’ll have to find some way to send a message sooner rather than later.
