As Alicia and Legerico clashed, His Majesty raised his voice, silencing them both.

Legerico clearly misunderstood at first. He looked stunned as he turned to face His Majesty.  

“This land has been protected by the Yamato family for generations. Without their contributions, the Kingdom of Adelreed would not exist as it does today. And yet, you dare to speak such insults? Shame on you!”  

“.…I-I was merely concerned for Your Majesty’s safety—”  

“When I say I shall go, there is no issue! Now apologize to Alicia Yamato for your words!”

Even with His Majesty’s reprimand, Legerico was reluctant to apologize. Just how inflated is this man’s pride?  

“It’s fine, Your Majesty. Simply having Your Majesty acknowledge this place is honor enough for me.”  

“Unbelievable. To think a man like you would have to be lectured by someone young enough to be your daughter. The Maguire family has truly fallen.”

“Enough! I am going to inspect the Forest of Demons. Vigul, accompany me with a selected guard of knights!”

Following this, not only knights but also a few civil officials volunteered to join the inspection.  

“I am a mage sworn to protect His Majesty! I shall accompany you as well!”  

Even Legerico declared his intention to join. His audacity was so blatant that I couldn’t help but feel a twisted sense of respect for it.
