He serves as the student council president at school. And when he was summoned here, he became a ‘special class’ Hero. 

The King of Shriden and the others were excited about the four who had acquired the special classes. But they seemed especially thrilled when they learned a Hero was among them.

Now that I think about it, why didn’t they leave the Hero behind to protect the King of Shriden? 

If the kingdom needed defending, wouldn’t it have made sense to have the Hero stay and guard the king, rather than sending him alongside Maria to go to war? 

Or perhaps the King of Shriden cared so much about his daughter that he didn’t mind sending the Hero with her instead of keeping him to protect the kingdom.

“Your Majesty, what about the other students? Not just Kaminuki Kouya-kun, but the others as well?”

Just as I was about to dive deeper into my thoughts, Sensei spoke up. 

Indeed, when we declared war on the Kingdom of Shriden, it wasn’t just the student council president who was unaccounted for. 

There were six classmates in total who went missing, including the student council president: Kaminuki Kouya, Akagi Ena, Domon Chikara, Watanabe Shinobu, and Oda Haruki.

According to Sensei, all of the five, excluding the student council president, were apparently advanced classes.

“We’ve confirmed the whereabouts of the other five as well.”

“Is that so? Ah, that’s a relief.”

Sensei let out a sigh of relief. But honestly, I don’t think we can be sure whether the six are truly safe or not.

“When we interrogated King Gozef, it seems the Hero had feelings for Maria. And that’s why he followed her into battle.”

“Is that so?”

“Yes, Akigase-sama. However, we still don’t know about the other five. There’s also the possibility that they might be under Maria’s control.”

When the possibility of mind control came up, I could see Arata grimacing out of the corner of my eye.

Arata still had memories of being controlled by Maria. When that happened, he attacked us, trying to kill us. That’s why he probably can’t forgive Maria. And why he’s worried about the student council president, who is his friend.

But now, the real concern is the five who are highly likely to be under Maria’s control. 

If they are being controlled, they could be sent into any dangerous situation against their will.

At worst, they might even be used as pawns to be sacrificed.

“Are the six of them really alright?”

“According to the report from the spies, they seem to be fine.”

“Is that true?”

At Dietrich-sama’s words, Sensei swallowed nervously.

“Akagi Ena. She’s the only one who suddenly vanished without a trace.”

“What!? Akagi-san… what could have happened?”

The name that came up was Akagi Ena, someone I only ever heard about in the context of fights. 

To be honest, I don’t want to be enemies with Akagi. 

There might be a difference in abilities based on our professions, but I don’t think any of us here would be able to face her head-on in a fight.

And with Akagi, I feel like she would do anything to defeat her opponent. So if it came to a fight, we might actually be at a disadvantage.

“Has anyone ever talked to Akagi directly?”

When I asked, someone unexpectedly raised their hand.

“…Eh? Madoka?”

“Of course, I’ve talked to her, you know. Ena-san’s not that bad.”

“Really, Madoka?”

“Yeah. Haven’t you ever spoken to her, Yuria-chan?”

Just as Yuria and Arata declared that it’s impossible for them, Sensei spoke up.

“But Akagi-san is surprisingly serious, you know?”

“So, you’ve spoken to her, Sensei?”

“Well, of course. I’m a teacher, after all.”

“That’s true. She’s serious, isn’t she, Sensei?”

“Yes, she is. Although, I think it’s just that she’s honest with herself. She did have a rough side, but that was just how she expressed herself.”

……..I think it’s actually the way she expressed herself that’s the problem.

“I’ve also scolded her a few times, but she always insisted that she couldn’t help it because others started it. Without that, she’s a good and serious girl.”

“…..I see.”

This was an unexpected answer from Sensei. But since Madoka was also nodding along, maybe it’s true.

Although, Yuria and Arata seemed to share the same opinion as me.

“Maria must be aware that Shriden has fallen to Adelreed. So, there’s a good chance that Akagi Ena has infiltrated this place to investigate the truth.”

“…..You want us to remain on alert, then?”

“Yes. And… if it’s alright with Mihiro-sama, could you increase your Magic stats and try to Appraise her whereabouts?”

“…..You want me to do an Appraisal?”

I couldn’t help but express my surprise at the sudden request.
