As Akagi shifted her target to me, Yuria and Arata returned. They unleashed powerful strikes and slashes aimed at her. However, without even turning around, Akagi effortlessly twisted her body and evaded both attacks.

“Damn it!” 

“You’re in my way~!” 

Without breaking stride, Akagi countered. Instead of directly attacking the two, she swung her greatsword at the ground. 

“What!?” 

“She’s targeting the ground!?” 

The greatsword gouged into the ground at their feet. It sent Yuria and Arata flying. 

The defensive magic tools didn’t activate since the attack wasn’t directed at them directly but at the ground. 

To think she figured out the tools’ weakness and exploited it in that brief exchange—it was unthinkable. 

“Earth Bite!” 

“Thunder Spike!” 

Madoka and Sensei cast spells to stop Akagi’s movement. But before they could land, she vanished from the spot.

Before I realized it, Akagi’s face appeared right in front of me. Her mischievous smile was gleaming with excitement. 

“Well then—time for you to die~!”

I raised my voice, demanding an answer. But Akagi’s grin remained unchanged. Her right hand was still pushing forward.

As more time passed, Arata and Yuria returned. They were attacking Akagi from both sides. 

I expected her to retaliate with another swing of her greatsword. But this time, she simply leaped back to dodge. She offered no counterattack. 

I found it odd. But then, I realized why. 

“…Akagi-san! Your arm!” 

“Huh? Oh~… yeah, it’s done for, isn’t it~?” 

Sensei noticed as well. And she shouted in alarm. 

Akagi, however, seemed unfazed. She casually lifted her bloodied right arm and gave a small, bitter laugh. 

Her expression was unchanged. It suggested this outcome was only natural. 

“That’s why I told you to stop!” 

“But~. Mihiro, you didn’t believe in me, did you~?” 

“If I had, would you have stopped attacking?” 

“Hmm~. Who knows~?” 

She’s enjoying this, isn’t she? 

I always thought she was reckless, but to stay this way even in another world? 

No, if anything, she’s worse now. 

“Talking to her is pointless, Maki!” 

“Agreed. Sorry, Sensei, but we’re taking Akagi down here.” 

“No, you two! Akagi-san, wake up!”

Lifting her greatsword with just her left hand, Akagi started advancing toward us, step by step. 

She was clearly prepared to see this through to the end.
