Episode 270: The Hero, the Sword Saint, and the Appraiser 11
The room was larger than I had expected. So it seemed like I wouldn’t have to sleep while being crushed by Sunny.
It was also unexpected that everyone had separate rooms. I had thought it would be split by gender at the very least.
“Are you sure it’s alright?”
“It’s fine for Arata and me to share a room, right?”
“Yeah, yeah, I’m fine with it!”
“Ah, well, I don’t mind either.”
After Arata, Moriya, and Ride-san expressed similar sentiments, Rugda-san and Irina-san shook their heads.
“No, that won’t do.”
“We must atone for the dishonor we caused by pointing our swords at you.”
Dishonor? Was it really that serious?
After all, we brought along familiars, legendary beings. So it wasn’t surprising if people thought these magical beasts might attack.
“…Understood. In that case, I’ll gladly accept your kind offer.”
That said, we couldn’t reject Rugda-san and Irina-san’s kindness. So we decided to rest in our individual rooms.
“How would you like to have your meal? There is a dining hall. But if you want to experience the local cuisine, it might be good to head into the city.”
Following Irina-san’s suggestion, we decided to head into the city.
However, it might be an issue to bring both Haku and Sunny with us. So, for this time, we decided to leave Sunny in the stable and let it stay with Haku.
“Gyauuu~”
“I’ll buy something tasty if I find it, so be good and stay here.”
Although it looked incredibly lonely, we couldn’t risk making the townspeople uneasy because of our own actions.
Perhaps Sunny understood this, as it didn’t throw a tantrum as it did when it wanted to enter the room.
………..Or maybe, it doesn’t think it’s a problem if it’s only being selfish to me.
“Then, please allow me to show you around.”
“Are you sure, Irina-san?”
We hadn’t expected her to personally guide us, so Sensei asked for confirmation.
“Since I have the afternoon off from the captain… and more importantly, it’s a chance to enjoy a delicious meal on the company’s expense.”
Irina-san’s voice was loud enough for me to hear clearly. And after saying that, she winked at Sensei and smiled brightly.
“…Heh, in that case, shall we go?”
“Thank you!”
These two, if they keep spending time together, I have a feeling they’ll become very close.
As I thought about that, we set off for the city of Osdis under Irina-san’s guidance.
Though there were still some glances, they seemed to be curious looks rather than wary ones.
Then, a voice I had grown used to hearing reached my ears.
“Oi! We meet again!”
“…Gies-san.”
“What’s with that face? Why do you look so annoyed, Arata?”
Well, of course, it’s annoying—look at your attitude.
Arata also looked like he didn’t want to deal with him. But without minding that, Gies-san threw his arm around Arata’s shoulders.
“Hey, Arata! Where are you going?”
“…We’re going to eat.”
“Oh! Then let me take you to a place I recommend!”
“No, we’re already being guided by Irina-san—”
“It’s fine, right, Irina?”
“…Ah, well, I guess it’s fine?”
“See? Let’s go! This way! Hahaha!”
Gies-san was way too cheerful for no reason. He dragged Arata along.
Arata looked like he was asking for help. But once Irina-san had given her consent, there was no turning back.
“…Irina-san?”
“…Well, the place we were planning to go was the same. So we would’ve run into each other eventually.”
“…Don’t you think this is troublesome?”
“Ugh!? …Well, yeah. Sorry about that.”
…Well, I thought Gies-san was a bit troublesome when I met him for the first time. So I guess it’s not so surprising if Irina-san feels the same way after being around him in the same city… right?
