I’m Supposed to Be the Neglected Princess in the Future, but Something Seems Strange... - 18 - Lea's Situation
Lea looked out at the ocean from the balcony of her Second-Class Cabin, narrowing her eyes in delight.
The Princess Lea ship would soon arrive at Huig Port in the country of Seld.
From there, Lea would begin a new life with the man she loved.
The Second-Class Cabin was plain and boring compared to a First-Class Cabin or her room in the royal castle. It was also very small. But she didn’t mind, because it meant she could be with the one she loved.
(Now I am free.)
Lea had lived a life without any problems. She had everything she needed—except the excitement of love.
Her fiancé, Raphael, whom she met at an academy in the powerful country of Martan, was indeed handsome and had a high social status. He satisfied her pride. But Lea didn’t love him.
She only agreed to marry him because she didn’t want to be treated like all the other royal women married off to noblemen in the country of Gridor. Becoming a future queen sounded nice enough. Even if she didn’t love him, she thought it would be fine as long as she could receive the praise of others.
But then, Lea met her destiny.
She found a man who loved her even after learning the “secret” she had been hiding for so long. She believed that no man could ever be better than him.
(Raphael wouldn’t break the engagement, but that’s fine—I’ll just run away.)
Raphael wouldn’t be able to find Lea. That’s because he wouldn’t even realize that she was Lea.
(He’s such a foolish man.)
Lea’s only worry was the maids who knew her secret. But knowing Raphael, he would likely blame them once Lea disappeared. He would probably lock them up or send them away.
Lea had already given the maids false information about what she planned to do. So even if someone tried to get the truth out of them, it wouldn’t work. She also told them that once she was settled, she would call them over to live a better life. The maids believed her and wouldn’t easily tell anyone anything.
The maids—like Surin—knew Lea’s secret. That made their bond with her even stronger, like family. They truly believed Lea when she said, “Only you are on my side.” So they wouldn’t betray her.
(Even after I’m gone, there won’t be any problems. Father isn’t stupid. If giving away Rose is enough to settle things, he’ll gladly hand over that useless girl who no one even notices.)
Lea felt sorry for Raphael, who would be stuck with someone like Rose—so useless and ugly. But Raphael was someone who understood his duty as a ruler. If accepting Rose would solve the problem, he would do it.
If things got too serious, even as a victim, he would still be hurt by the scandal.
(Even that useless girl had some value. She should be grateful.)
Lea was sure her father and mother would be happy to finally be rid of her.
“Fufufu,” she laughed softly.
“You sound happy,” said a familiar voice behind her.
Lea turned around with a smile when she heard the voice of the man she loved.
“Yes. Because soon, I’ll be with you forever.”
“You’ve been saying that since yesterday,” he said with a small laugh.
He stood beside her and gently pulled her close.
“I’ll never let you go.”
Lea smiled and nodded, pleased by his words. She looked out at the sea, shining brightly under the sunlight.
Both the sea and the sky looked as beautiful as if they were celebrating her future.
